I live in a small rural town of 40,000 people 60 miles from Las Vegas. We "HAD" a Town Board, about 5 idiots, that was spending hundreds of thousands of local taxpayers money to an outside company to do a study on a desert rat and the desert tortoise to see what kind of impact a huge water park would have on them. The whole idea was to eventually spend millions of dollars to build a giant water park in order to attract Las Vegas tourists to come here and spend their money. It was a ludacris idea. I wrote a Letter to the Editor of our local paper suggesting we stop paying our property taxes until this Town Board pulled their head out of their asses. My letter was published and I stopped paying for 3 years. I paid quite a bit in penalties but either one or two years later the Town Board was dissolved, it no longer exists. I don't know if I had any influence in that matter, but I agree with you. Why should we pay taxes to a government that can't even do its job? There are thousands of people with no more than a high school education that could run this country better than these Fu**s! I'm sick of this. All we can do is vote and hope it still counts. Your idea is great but it has a major flaw. "We the people" can't unite and act as one. Oir diversity prevents that, too many opinions, and the FBI would squash any effort to do so. Tbe worse part is, IF Trump is elected and IF he manages to straighten out this country, the media and Democrats won't just stop lying and attacking him. In 2028 people will be sick of Trump and the GOP and elect another Democrat who will undo everything Trump did just like Biden did. We'll be back to square one again. Only worse. Just a theory, I hope I'm wrong.

Yes, but two things: -) if the chairman publicly stated that the subpoenaed person can choose, then the benefit of doubt should always go towards the person, not the state. -) there shouldn't be, but there is an issue with things that can give the impression of weaponizing government institutions directly against members of family of political rivals. That's why there is a double standard concerning elected officials and their families. That's also why I strongly oppose the majority of charges against Trump. January 6th and the attempts at falsifying the votes (and he's literally on tape with that so please don't deny it) were actual attacks against democracy itself and legal consequences HAD to happen. The severe disregard for the law and blatant lying about the classified records was really what triggered the legal action on that. But the business-stuff in NYC? That was apparently all according to the law, but it set a bad precedent IF he doesn't get pardoned on that - and pardons are a depravity in and of itself, but I guess sometimes justified.

Because he was not scheduled to show up for questioning. It was photo op for Hunter to look compliant after all His posturing in the media. It was convened to address arresting him. Then he pulls The photo op of walking out acting all righteous for showing up. Doesn’t work for me. He is complicit with probable money laundering of money from countries not our friends which was for the Biden family personal gain. We’d know none of this if he hadn’t left his laptop by accident(was it really?) at that shop. Media suppressed contents to influence an election. So devious on many levels which none of we regular citizens would get away with.
