Stephen immigrated from Poland after WWII. Polish was his native tongue, and he learned English after moving to Canada. Poland is at the crossroads of Europe and has always been a multilingual country. Its citizens typically spoke more than one language (and still do). For centuries prior to 1918, Poland remained divided between Austria-Hungary and Russia. When WWII broke out, Hitler occupied the western half of Poland, while Stalin seized the eastern half (later Hitler took all of Poland). It is no wonder that someone escaping from such a place had at least some command of both Russian and German. It wouldn't surprise me to know that Stephen also spoke, say, Czech or Ukrainian.

Silhouette S. Really now?!Thats quite interesting! And Gosh, what an intelligent and resilient man he was. He went through so much, and yet he was still able to overcome it all as well as being able to provide a better life for himself and his family on top of all of that. Quite inspirational if you ask me! I’m pretty disheartened to have found out that he passed away some years back though.

*I believe Michalak's account, this is the Falcon Lake incident. My lake is about 30km south/east of where this took place. My dad and three of his cousins were out fishing and saw a craft fly to the west side of the lake...hover....then fly off vertically like a jet....they weren't sure what they saw...but the next day on the radio they heard about Michalak's encounter at Falcon*

I commend this female corrections officer for speaking out about the truth of things irregardless of all she stood to lose. There is so much corruption within government and factions of government that we, as citizens, owe it to ourselves and our fellow man to do all we can, when we can to stand against it at all costs. Our silence and inaction is often very much a part of most problems.

Another great episode with not one, not two, but THREE of my favorite cases. Stephen Michalak's bizarre UFO experience is worth relating simply for its unusual details: a classic "Close encounter of the second kind." Few things on this show ever made me angrier than those corrupt guards at Frontera. And the sad sight of that missing man trying to sell fish out of a van never left me. As a bonus, we get an update on the Loving case, which I also enjoyed.

In the construction industry I'm a field mechanic, That translates to: it doesn't matter where or what the problem is you fix it where it's at. My service truck was a shop on wheels. For the past 15 years I've been working on boats, sail and power, I sometimes make or modify a tool to get the job done. A customer told me once that I have the common sense of 10 Billy Goats, he didn't say why Billy Goats. I not only figure out what the problem is but why it's in need of repair. I have been known to walk, talk and chew gum all at the same time and I've done this in three different countries. And the best part is it's fun. I don't bite the hand that feeds me.
