I loved this show growing up, Robert Stacks serious, mysterious voice always had me intrigued. I have to say I struggled to fall asleep afterwards sometimes. They don't make shows like this so well any more. I'd love for them to bring it back but now that Robert stack is dead it would be nearly impossible to find a narrator with a more perfect voice for the job. Rest in peace Robert, thanks for being such a big part of my childhood.

I think if there was a Mike and Pat McGuire in the Miami area at one time, there would be record of them, or more photographs of them. It seems strange that nobody showed Miriam any photos of them or any friends or family of the McGuires came forward to confirm the story. It’s like the McGuires were ghosts. They just faded into thin air. In the 1940s, you would leave some kind of trail behind.

Hang on, the one with the blimp seems obvious to me. I think since two parachutes were missing and it was during war times, they may have been desperate to get out of the navy and faked their deaths. It makes sense as to why they told the 3rd guy not to come at the last minute, the door was wedged open as though they jumped, and I think they parachuted into the water a little off shore, then swam to the coast and got away. Or they just jumped when it was close enough to the water without using the parachutes and that's why the guy on the beach didn't notice. It would only take a couple seconds to falling the water without a chute and if they swam further up the coastline to where a family member could have picked them up or had a car waiting. Did the family get a payout/pension after they were declared dead? That might be how they started a new life somewhere else.

In order to avoid military service, I don’t think they would abandon their families for the rest of their lives. I don’t think they would be willing to start an entire new life with another identity just to avoid duty. They might of done that for the duration of the war, but I think eventually they would of made their way back to their families. These men completely disappeared. There were never any sightings afterwards, nor did anyone ever claim to hear from them. I think it was a bizarre, fluke accident, where somehow both of them fell out of the blimp.

This is so strange! My Aunt Pat and Uncle Walt whose last name is McGuire are foster parents but the time line is slightly off. They are in their early eighties now and live near Rochester, Newport, New York and Philly. Uncle Walt is a big gentle loving soul of a man with huge hands. Aunt pat loves to sing songs like “Chloe where are you going? and “little Rabbit FooFoo jumping thru the forest” they have two adopted daughters that are close sisters. Aunt Pat was once married to another man briefly before she met her husband, Walt McGuire. I wonder if it is my Aunt Pat? Highly unlikely but one never knows.

Many therapists have been charged with false memory syndrome. Obviously, memories can be repressed by trauma, but how many people have had their character and reputation maligned by this practice. Everyone’s situation is unique and no doubt that for some, there have been memories recovered of horrific trauma. It appears that this was one of those unfortunate trends of the 80's/90's like the satanic panic, etc. The worst part of this case is she starts by stating that she has primarily positive memories of her father until this "therapy" and after his passing and without any corroboration, she stumbles upon a completely new narrative. Sadly, many individuals subjected to this practice have faced estrangement or even criminal charges. Everyone should be listened to and investigated accordingly, but I’m glad that over time, the justice system has held those so called therapists accountable.

Prosecuting Attorney and Police for Mr. Self's Accusal and Imprisonment are criminals.Another murderer knew of the black cord and the Attorney wants to say he was crazy and don't know why he confessed. It's unrefutable. Anyone involved with this travesty will be cursed and possibly their families also. These people thinking they can do all wrong and not pay attention to reality, and then say everyone else is out of touch with reality, and believe they and their family won't be affected by their action are so wrong. Their realities will deteriorate so fast they won't know what happened. Ignoring truth doesn't make it disappear. It's still the truth.

I wonder if maybe the blimp hit some birds or something, and the pilots went to check to see if there was any damage, and then they simply fell out. Maybe if there were birds, they might have hit some smooth part of the undercarriage of the gondola, and not left any visible feathers or anything, but just made enough of a *thud* sound that it startled the pilots enough to want to take a look to see what happened. It might be as simple as that.

Mike McGuire was a projection in her mind of what she wanted her real father to be. Big, strong and masculine, instead of an erratic mentally ill man. I would think if there was a McGuire couple living in the Miami area at that time, there would be a lot more evidence of their existence. Photographs were very common in the 1940s. That one photo of a supposed Pat McGuire is not sufficient enough evidence. There would also be records and documentation of these people, unless Miriam got the surname of McGuire wrong.

Miriam is remembering things that never happened. Psychoanalysts are like hypnotists, under a sort of transe-like reverie they make suggestions that lead to visualations that thereafter are perceived as real memories. False memories of this sort are sometimes used to create thought-slave situations. Methods of inducing false memories include hypnosis, sedatives and probing questions where the therapist believes repressed memories of traumatic events are the cause of their client's problems.

I never saw a therapist but I had repressed traumatic memories that came through during a week of nightmares due to a Tylenol 3 prescription. I woke up knowing that my nightmare was real. I was run over by a race car that peeled out over my lower spine and hip after smoking billows of white smoke from his back tires. I was stuck on his back fin. And rolled backwards thinking he would go forward. I called old friends and they remembered. Plus I had MRIs and xrays that confirmed that my back spine was slightly ripped from my pelvic bone. I also recalled that my GP told me that I had a total cervical prolapse at age 11.

Memories are stored like videos especially traumatic experiences near the amygdala when it’s initially activated; that can be replayed later in life when ones child light inner self feels safe and curious or needing to heal from the confusion. Personally, I never had a doctor or therapist because at age 23 I myself took a few weeks off of work to fast and pray. I regressed purposely to unlock my past, memories and trauma. All traumas and traumatic abuse are stored away in utter detail and one can eventually piece the events together. It’s a very long process but I managed to unravel some truths and facts about my past traumas. Some feelings do come up but to truly make sense of it on your own is not easy because it’s not all black and white. Distorting some images do happen as well as factoring in ones own insecurities when searching for motives. The more one does their own research one finds that alarming as the abuse seems there tends to be raw truths to ones own intuition. Most traumatized children and infants enter a phase of dissociation but the memories are always intact and in reach no matter how sadistic the perpetrator tries to erase those memories with forceful and repeated head trauma or by instilling fear. Infants and children go into protect mode, they are forevermore on a controlled high alert awareness. They know danger and learn how to cope and sidestep danger. Some walk thru the danger and self sabotage in trying to find answers as well as to test humanity throughout their lives. Retracing ones conscience and subconscious mind can take decades to not only face but to further recover from abuse with more understand. But, eventually the process of self regression heals ones soul as well as resolves ones own issues bringing clarity to ones own self denial and mishaps that directly results in ones soulful searching and struggles from being a victim of abuse. Self awareness and forgiveness leads one to compassionate understanding and forgiveness for the lost souls and perpetrators that block out, and/or deny their own actions, and/or sick perverse thoughts that overruled their logic. Abuse tends to be a generational issue of coping from domestic abuse. You can live blissfully happy in denial or face your own demons in order to break the chain links of generational abuse and heal yourself-as well as become aware of your own unconscious and conscious behaviors or reactions and/or your abusive outbursts and/or your sadistic and/or lustful thoughts and/or reactions and behaviors.

A lot of our tax dollars go towards our military and training. Enough money that we've neglected our infrastructure, education and healthcare. I can't see how we could lose against wasteful irrational countries. Stop doing so much business with China and the middle east. That strengthens them and they're not as civilized as we are. Get rid of private banking and keep our money within our country. So we don't wind up falling prey to them due to giving everything away. We give wayyyyyyyyy too much. And now we're being scammed out of our country if we continue to allow our enemy to infiltrate us and use our rights against us.

The case of Michael Self was sad, being denied parole repeatedly for a crime he said he didn’t commit. The police was corrupted and the prosecutor was a joke. Michael should have contacted the Innocent Project (if it existed at that time) to present his case to these people, who most of the time are very successful finding the truth when incarcerated people are really innocent. Wow. He died young at 53 years of age while in prison……meanwhile, the real criminal was free to continue committing crimes. This whole case was a disgrace from law enforcement to the prosecution, very disturbing and disgusting. This poor man spent his life behind bars and died in prison and no one cared to find out the truth. Michael Self deserved better and real justicie and to be free , and the parents of these girls never got the Justice they also deserved it. Very sad and tragic. May Michael Self Rest In Peace now that he is finally free in the after life. 🙏🙏🙏
