I got into New jeans's music months ago because the continued popping up on my Spotify playlists so I decided to give them a chance. I liked Attention, Ditto and Cool with you, but after listening to these songs for a week, I got bored and that's it with my experience. I tried to listen to their new stuff, but they are just boring. This is not y2k, it is just lazy music. For example, I stan groups like BP, aespa, BTS, Twice, Exo, and some other. Let's say that I listen to Pink Venom a few times, then I get bored, then I move to let's say Mic Drop, then I get bored, but after some time, I return to those songs again and I know that I like these songs not because of how catchy they are for some time, but what impact they hold in the future.

New Jeans always made low quality music terrorism.

Aespa is one of the few kpop groups that I see actually improving in terms of everthying. Other groups are doing it too but but aespa is the only one standing out rn

2. Totally agree. They were fresh and fun at first, but now, every track sounds like background tracks. There's no variety to their songs. What's worse, there's no variety to the girls vocal tones. It's nearly impossible to tell who's singing because they all sound nearly identical.

Not a hater, just people can't accept some honest criticism. I've gone back and listened to most of their tracks and I stand by what I said. Their tracks are starting to sound like something you listen at a department store. Very generic, very similar, each member sounds nearly identically in their verses, whether intentional or not. The instrumentals are overshadowing their vocals in many parts. Is it a bop? Sure, I guess. But as most bops, it gets tiresome if they start sounding the same. At the end of the day we each have our own opinions. I think these girls are talented but the depth of the songs and musical production is rather limited. But then again, I'm probably not the target audience, so why y'all get so defensive?

I'm a new jeans fan and I totally agree with you their latest releases is really not that good. I was so hyped for their comeback and it didnt exceed my expectations. Atleast how sweat is doing good in korean charts.

It's incredible how much Aespa has improved!

I think ive and aespa truly took ghe criticism and improved and i hope both lesserafim and illit will do the same

Aespa took in all the criticism and improved immensely. They went from being a group i didn't care much for to one of my favourites currently.

I think that XG has their unique style and we as fans do not need a second version or the same hip hop concept. NJ suits y2k, they just need a direction and to experiment with the style, because the concept is one thing, but the genres themselves being implemented into the concept is the best thing Ador must do.

I do agree that XG is having a great stylist though. The only group that comes close is BADVILLAIN, let's see if they can carry over that debut budget to the next cb. The album didn't sell. I also have to mention Dreamcatcher for very costum outfits.

the reason why XG can go aggressive with there individual style like Cocona shaving her head is because XGALX is not funded by korean company and they don't only relay on korean sales and non of the members are korean citizen. and they also can't mess with Avex because if they want to promote in japan Avex is the gate keeper in japanese market and all the OG big timer kpop artist like BoA and Kara, TVXQ and other kpop groups Avex help them get famous in japan.

One Kpop fan went on calling them ugly and honestly other mean things and an Armys quoted it saying something like “I understand why you are mad because a glow up is easy for BTS but your fav will never reach BTS success and that hurts you but it’s ok!” I’m sorry I laughed so hard because it got them livid after they literally called the BTS members all those things all of a sudden they tried to make the Army the bad guy. But the Armys comeback was so funny.

4. It's one thing to buy ads, but some of these numbers make zero sense and I feel like they are buying artificial views, not just ads.

That's because kpop fans place too much importance on MV views. MV views are literally nothing in the grand scheme of things, they're not a source of income for any artist. Try to put yourself in the shoes of the CEO of an entertainment company... Do you think the company actually cares whether the views are fake or organic? Do you think their staff, that just wants their paycheck at the end of the month, care about the views being organic? At the end of the day kpop is just like any other industry - it's made mostly by people that want to make money, not anything else. So MV ads are identical to your Coca Cola ad or your iPhone ad. Yet I bet you don't actually question the legitimacy of Coca Coca or IPhone despite seeing their ads everywhere, right? Start looking at kpop in the same way, so long as you view kpop as some kind of an altruistic safe space you'll always be disappointed. MV ads are there to boost potential sales, they're not there for you to brag about them being organic, or being over 1 billion. Especially nowadays there are so many artists pushing billions of views on their MVs that kpop's obsession with views is soon going to be an obsolete idea. Enjoy the music, buy an album or buy a concert ticket, get artist merch, sign up for their fan club, do whatever to support your artists but worrying about MV views is quite literally the least useful thing you could for them.

On the other hand ad views for MVs count into music shows and even some year end awards so yes it does cheat the system. They are absolutely not the same thing when other companies gain nothing from you TILL YOU DECIDE to spend your money on them. It's nice to have a sound to showcase live. If you are a singer, your priority should be your voice. Aespa is the girl group with the best vocals of its generation. Let's see what others will do in 10 years. If you have a good voice, you will have a place on the stage no matter how many years pass.

Did they ever care? From my limited idle history knowledge, Soyeon had to carry that group from debut on. Makes you think why Cube even bothers with gg if they don't even wanna give them songs. Like it's not that they're not successful or a money thing (groups smaller than Lightsum can survive plus they have the Idle money), they just don't do anything. I'm wondering if they'll learn with the 5th gg. Gidle won't renew or only like a BP situation, and Lightsum can't replace them. I think they have a Rookie bg for now but next year things are going to get interesting...Lightsum needs to deliver. It's not fair if you have to follow a producer like Soyeon and the popularity of the other members but they at least have the opportunity to save themselves. Otherwise they'll just be dropped for a new gg (I don't know much about CLC but it was similar or not with the only difference that we don't know what would've happened if Idle didn't debut).

@bbhspanda oh that is true but if Gidle wasn't as huge as they are they probably wouldn't support them as much. If you can do a Tomboy and a Nxde in a row, obviously a company will trust you. But Lightsum technically is in a CLC position with probably a bigger budget and good songs but they just don't get any promo. It's confusing to say the least especially since Gidle's contracts are up next year.

i still remember aespa debut days thought wth is going on and they will disband soon but luckily they improved through time.

new jeans concept was doomed to failure from the start, it got tired after omg. their aesthetic looks the same since super shy, mhj accusing illit of copying and then showing up with how sweet which is magnetic and lucky girl syndrome combined. new jeans are new blackpink in terms of bland concept and fans streaming the cow out of every song. i mean new jeans songs are sometimes not even more than two minutes and i feel like they're still too long.

NewJeans' music is still good, but they're gonna keep using the same sound until it's completely played out. That's when it's going to become really boring and uninspired, and people are going to lose interest. At first, they had a great sound, something not many people were doing, but now all groups are doing it, so it doesn't help them out.

1) yes the lyrics are a bit iffy but not as direct as cookie. I think cookie was worse whereas like that could be interpreted as not that sexual more like a song intended for a lover. I did like the song musically, the choreo as well, but the lyrics did put me off a bit. This was their best song, if not for their lyrics. I hope yg continues making songs like 'like that' (musically not lyric wise). 2) nj song releases this year were all meh. Their best songs are attention and ditto. After ditto its slowly becoming ad/ elevator music, very boring in my opinion. The girls are talented ador should change their music direction because I don't see this working long term. The fresh vibe was nice at first, but the recent releases are not it. 6) i thought they all looked good? I think they look better now, they look more healthy and fit.Those who say they look ugly are literally just haters or people who have unrealistic beauty standards for idols, no wonder the diet culture is so prevalent in kpop.

I used to be annoyed by aespa for some reason but now they are my favourite and the only gg I like. Like bro drama was insane and now I’m obsessed. Plus they’re living memes.

I liked the teaser for Supernatural. I think it will be NewJeans best song of the comeback. I think they don't care that the other songs underperformed because they already made money from the sponsorships behind those songs

4.1 😅 Aside from the ads, what nobody is talking about is the fact that labels, don't know if all, are paying YT reactors to react to new tracks using a scripted reaction. I've heard from two reactors that a newly debuted group's label was willing to pay them decent money to give them a positive reaction. They both turned it down and on patreon gave their honest reaction that it was trash.

I got into New jeans's music months ago because their songs continued popping up on my Spotify playlists so I decided to give them a chance. I liked Attention, Ditto and Cool with you, but after listening to these songs for a week, I got bored and that's it with my experience. I tried to listen to their new stuff, but they are just boring. This is not y2k, it is just lazy music. For example, I stan groups like BP, aespa, BTS, Twice, Exo, and some other. Let's say that I listen to Pink Venom a few times, then I get bored, then I move to let's say Mic Drop, then I get bored, but after some time, I return to those songs again and I know that I like these songs not because of how catchy they are for some time, but what impact they hold in the future.

I don't think Aespa are the best st stage presence, but they work more before a cb and they are better managed and they have more experience... In general I think the one who got a real glow up is Winter

Yeeeeeshh, Im getting pretty over people trying to pass over their opinions like its all that exists. It's ok if NJs new releases arent your personal taste but anything else is pure conjecture. Some of us genuinely love their musical direction and prefer that style of music over the typical noisey music from most of kpop. Easy listening is a valid thing and its ok if its not meant for you but dont discredit it. Especially with supernatural being released now.. so good and artistic and truly gives the feel of music from the era they are trying to emulate. It's for the arts, not the charts.

1. The song was made by a 30 year old man who has a lot of his releases with sexual meanings behind it. The man has also been caught up in some scandals and controversies regarding him being a bit of a perv. Yeah, I agree about NJ. Initially they had good tracks, a breath of fresh air. I loved hype boy, ditto, cool with you... And the variety in story telling too in these mvs. But this year their releases haven't done anything for me. They are very forgettable. Their choreo is getting repetitive and boring too. Even their concept looks increasingly mundane. I am pretty sure their label and ceo prepared these releases in advance, before the controversy, so no one can shift the blame to hybe. But on an optimistic note, it is difficult to maintain momentum all the time. A few not great releases here and there aren't a big deal in span of an artist's career. I am sure they will figure it out.

I've known/been a fan of LIGHTSUM since they first debuted in summer 2021. I hope that LIGHTSUM grows in both talent, and popularly. ❤

Unpopular opinion- I feel like YG as a company lacks creativity. With each of their groups, I can see similarities, even with members from different groups. Some people will argue that it's YG style.. but it seems like copy and paste, no creativity, no uniqueness, and just straight up being lazy to me. I don't know if it's just me, but that's just my opinion. YG groups seem so boring to me because of this.. it feels like I'm listening to the same groups with different faces.. even the damn music sounds the same.

The internet is synonymous with the “actual world” it’s not meant for children, kids or minors to roam freely without supervision of any kind. You *always* have your child tell you where they’re going, or at the least when they’ll be back and have some kind of details, regardless of age. That’s been taken away by the internet and because people act like the internet is some kind of mall that needs to be age limit’d, few adults in place and centralized on kids. This is why people freak out when there are *adult* things being said in the comments of the group/idol pages. They don’t understand that these *kids* (let’s face it, even *young* *adults* who are 17-19 *inexperienced* with the world) are *in* an *adult* world *providing* entertainment *for* a *large* *chunk* of *adults* What do you think is going to happen? If you’re *truly* that concerned for these idols as very young people, you’d rip the parents a new one, berate the idols for making a horrible choice and not end until they get pushed out. That’s *literally* the kindest thing you can do for these groups with *kids* under the age of 18. People who don’t understand why that’s “kind” aren’t familiar with the actual d*ng*ers of wondering the world without a companion when you’re so very young. The g*v*rnment *strongly* recommends you watch and limit your kid from using the internet in *many* countries. So *why* do these idols have double standards when it comes to that? You can’t ask why they have such free access to see and participate in things not meant for a person of their age? It doesn’t matter if they’re “famous” The cast of Harry Potter held *far* more fame than these groups and yet their parents had them on a short leash. They didn’t participate in the online world. Sure the time was not today, but there was the internet and social media which was *far* more aggr*sive at that time. You Kpop fans continue to complain that these minors “need protection” but don’t comprehend what that looks like. Suing people for their words is a *very* *slippery* *slope* to go down. That will and already has cause so much d*m*ge to the Kpop world. You can not be doing that and expect to still hold a fan base after that or have *any* kind of *serious* dealings with people after. You can’t limit their posts because of the same reasons. You want to compete with the big dawgs but want to also play child. You can’t have it both ways. You either enter the realm that’s “just for kids” and have the applications applied to you as those other artists have in the category or you stick with the adult world and get the adult treatment. You don’t treat adults like children and expect people to be serious with you. Make it make sense.
