Its time the ANC healed the wounds they have inflicted on all South Africans and restored confidence in their management of the Country. They need to align themselves with the need to learn competency and effective governance. Humility and regret should mark the way forward. Sacrifice ideology in the name of service to the people of South Africa. Submit Governance to God and His plan for a stable society.

They are trying to dictate the politics, because they believe that is the best course of action to make an unstable situation stable. For businesses it's all about public perception and outcome. Looks stable, and I see some results, I'll gamble and take a chance. Anc ,PA,and eff was going to work bt tht will not give the Western cape and kzn which are 2 of the 3 important provinces. So I think they will be force to bring mk in the fold.once anc goes wth DA, it will follow actionSA. Bcz as things stand we need a new direction, businesses are saying all these stupid stuff bcz anc was direct less.Which country hv you ever head businesses telling politician wat to do.its only here bcz its a leaderless country. We need someone who will tell businesses tht they must knw their limits.Businesses are here bcz they are making profits not bcz of anc or DA. Businesses don't care how majority stays ,whether they hv water, food or electricity they don't care.Anc,PA,eff and mk must come together and They put Malema as president. The reason I say Malema is bcz he commands and is in btwn mk and anc.Bcz Ramaphosa and Zuma will not agree for 1 of them to lead.DA is trying to fish anc by saying they will let them take all positions. Remember it's the same DA tht was saying anc is corrupt as a whole,so why give them all positions again. They will get them in parliament 1 by 1 and anc will be powerless bcz all black parties will be voting against them in parliament. We will end up wth John as president in 2 yrs time from now.

Inversely a stronger rand encourages investment and jobs and brings income up with potential lower costs?

The world economy does not take lightly to a democracy having a mixed economy going to purely socialism that’s the reason the comparison is difficult to use. Look at Zim, Iran, Libya any democracy that has moved from a mixed economy to socialist state has not ended well because of the world economy. I am not saying socialism is not correct only questioning the route we want for the general public (all classes). We will stand united as South Africans and face it head on but let us be clear on the outcome.

@Mighti Jamie I recall in a recent show you laughed at any possiblity that the DA would increase its support in this election. If I recall correctly, you predicted the DA to get around 15% of the vote, and yet end up with close to 22%. You also tried hard to convince us that the EFF would achieve 18% and they managed to get half of this - 9.5%. So I really don't trust your analysis as you mocked the DA and yet it is now the strongest party across all metros!

Answer to your questions: Remember, ALL wealth is created in the private sector. The public sector has no capacity for wealth generation (I am, of course, not talking about personal wealth of politicians). When politicians run on policies that limit the amount of wealth the private sector can create (such as BEE, EWC, and NHI), this warrants a negative reaction from private equity because they can see it will be harder to make a profit in the market. This hurts the ordinary person who sees the result in stagnant wage, lay-offs etc. Governments must remember that they need to be friendly with the private sector because the success of the private sector is the only way the people can become wealthier. It is therefore ethically correct because the funds to enact any public policy come directly from the private sector via tax.

Where they see destruction and policies which historically are not economically viable or successful they will disinvest. The markets will lean towards anything that promotes economic growth. I think SMWX does a great job at breaking down politics and aI agree with most of what they say on here, but markets are important in the sense that economic prosperity can allow for better opportunities to create jobs and redistribute wealth. I think the probem the markets have with our left leaning parties is that they propose policies that will severely damage our encomy because (1) the fiscus doesnt allow for them due to the shortcomings elsewhere (think NHS, free education etc) (2) the may impact the rights that allow free markets to function (think land expropriation), (3) SA doesnt have a good track record over the past 30 years in terms of sucsesfully governing SOE's or implementing policies and (4) with our corruption history and governance track record the left leaning policies may be viewed as further opportunities to loot and mismanage

My question is, will it’s tripartite alliance partners (SACP, COSATO AND SANCO) accept such a move, should they so accept it, them too will be viewed as having betrayed the people’s mandate.

What have the policies of having a minimum wage, worker protections, afffirmative action policies done for South African in the last 29 years? Power plants are breaking, roads are broken, kids are still not been educated, businesses are afraid to employ people becasue they're unable to fire them when they underperform or cause dissention in the work place. We have massive unemployement and should be encourging new businesses to start and limit the barriers to entry so we can have a broader tax paying base contributing to prosperity of South Africa. Perhaps it is time to learn from countries who have low unemplyment and a growing vibrant middle calss instead of beating the same drum where we have disempowering unemployment rate of 33%.
