Unno Mith Review: A Work of Art

Спорт

If bikes were people, the Unno Mith would be Picasso. The Mith is a work of art. The folks over at Unno clearly tapped into their Spanish art heritage when designing this thing. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a bike that looks this good.

    I own a UNNO Burn, Ikki and Mith. They are absolutely the best bikes in their category. They are unique and you can shred them like crazy. The looks for me personally are pure art. I love my 3 UNNO bikes. They are all custom. Oh yeah and I own a custom Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay. It's absolutely amazing!

    As an owner myself think this a good review. Bike is indeed flawed but is always an occasion to ride. One thing to keep in mind is make sure your dealer is good, in UK getting issues from factory fixed is less than perfect process, especially when used to another established premium bike manufacturer.

    @@ev_1236 a few to note: - motor cable routed under motor plastic protective cover such that cable was being pinched and would fail, had to dremmel a relief. - stem bolt cover seen in online pics etc, didn’t get it, these are quite obvious when not covered - more of a dealer issue but fork decals and frame wrap quality issues - for some reason old headset top cap and bolt used, was worn out - carbon bar had pretty obvious visual issue, like the clear was badly applied. Was promised another, never arrived - the rear brake rubs slightly due to caliper mount bolts not being aligned quite right. - lower shock mounting bolt is also the bolt for linkage, is a pain to remove and re-line up. Very tight fit. To adjust high speed rebound shock has to come out. -asked about frame warranty, no response, hard to get straight answer on process and terms This honestly sounds bad but actually the goods are there too. It really is a work of art in the black/copper one I got. The suspension feels pretty special, especially climbing. It feels bombproof even if a bit noisy due to cables in frame. The high seat tube is not a problem. I chose an S1 being 1.7m tall.

  • @asifitmatters1

    @@bikersedge I would disagree. I found the Unno to be great in a very specific type of terrain only. When it got really nasty like in Andorra, I felt that it was pretty quickly out of its depth and the suspension struggled to deal with the really quick succession of big hits. On flow trails, the bike struggles to come to life and makes the trail feel "sticky" and lifeless. This bike works well on very steep, slippery terrain where there are lots of roots and many swift direction changes. But even there the seat post is a constant pain in the ass, quite literally!

  • @bikersedge

    @bikersedge

    Ай бұрын

    @@asifitmatters1 I agree on flow trails. Unless you’ve got a ton of speed it can feel a bit lifeless. I wonder what 30% sag would do on that terrain though. I’m at about 36-37% and it does really well on big bumps and high speed chatter.

  • @asifitmatters1

    @asifitmatters1

    Ай бұрын

    @@bikersedge I ran it all the way from 40 up to 25% sag. The 25% was awful. It didn't want to break into the travel and everything felt out of place. Because of its design I feel that it has a very specific "sweet spot" where it works well or as intended and everything else is just crap. Unlike a Stumpy which allows for so much individuality in the setup and still retains great riding characteristics, the Unno can only be ridden in one setting. That was my experience after having one on test for a few weeks and that's why I chose not to buy one, despite the amazing looks and "wow" factor. For me the only boutique bike that actually lives up to the hype is Forestal, and this despite having real asshats for management.
