The Clippers remind me of the Cowboys. They do great things in the regular season. 50+ wins. One of the best offenses in the game. Got great defenders. Got spunky & nasty bench players. But they all fall apart in the playoffs. Just like Dak ain't THAT DUDE the Clippers don't have THAT DUDE to get them where they wanna go. But the Mavs have TWO of THOSE DUDES and that's how you end up with a 30 point win over the higher seed.

There's, lesson, here for the big time billionaires who get into the sports franchise ownership game, and think they can just buy their way into making the big splash acquisitions for immediate title contention. Steve Ballmer made HUGE splash acquiring Paul George and Kahwi Leonard as a,package. When it became abundantly clear that it wasn't the flex that he thought it was, Ballmer decided to add mercuriial superstar James Harden, and finally, a dash of whatever is left of former MVP candidate Russell Westbrook. Throw all that in with Ty Lue, seen as one of the best of the current crop of young NBA veteran coaches. Four years later, and there's no way to call this era of Clippers basketball anything other than a massive disappointment and a terrible ROi. Enter Matt Ishbia, who also came into NBA ownership under eerily similar circumstances, and like Ballmer, immediately tried to buy his way into contention with acquiring Kevin Durant, and then for the hat trick, talented (yet overpaid) Bradley Beal.

I think it's highly ironic that TJ is just a doomed fan. The Clippers are the Cowboys of the NBA. Highly talented rosters, do great things in the regular season. But when the playoffs come....they choke harder than Sasha Grey on BBC. As a fellow Cowboys fan, I just can't help but wonder when TJ is gonna wake up to the reality of his players? I've been knowing who Dak was for a long time now. At some point you GOTTA stop making excuses. There's no such thing as a perfect NFL team, but even if you COULD build the perfect team (great OL, top notch receiving group, strong RB group, elite defense, perfect special teams) I feel like Dak will STILL find a way to screw it up in the playoffs. Just like Playoff P is more like Playoff PeeWee. At some point in the playoffs (and as he gets older it happens in the 1st round) James Harden is gonna become James Soften than Charmin....almost always by Game 5+ of a series he's gonna be the opponents best teammate. Westbrick has ALWAYS been a playoff choker and a stat-padder. Seriously, if he makes the HOF he's gonna be by far the dumbest & least worthy HOF'er of ALL the HOF'ers. And while Kawhi really was THAT DUDE....he got too old & too washed up to be anything in LA. I dunno why that happened. Maybe success came too early for him and he lost that hunger? He stopped putting in the work & just relied on his supreme athleticism & skill? He didn't have that Rodman type of Dawg in him to play 40 minutes and then lift weights & work the stairs in his motorcycle boots for 2 hours AFTER the game? Whatever it was, he got old and now even when he's healthy he's lost a step & lost his explosion to the rim. Kawhi is like the Dez Bryant of the NBA. Dude just dominated suckers all day long off of his physicality & skill. Dez didn't need to know how to run routes cause he was just that much more talented than his opponents. But then Dez broke his ankle or something and he lost that step or two, he lost several inches off of his leaping ability, and he became "just a dude" at WR with no proper techniques to rely on to extend his career. If Dez had mastered his craft like a Jerry Rice, he could've still been productive for like 4+ more years. Just like if Kawhi had mastered his craft to the level of Kyrie, he could still be dominating ballers on the NBA level with different tools in his bag.

Bad comparison, Cowboys have won rings, these Clippers haven’t, a better comparison would be the Chargers, everyone loves them in the off season, praises all their free agent acquisitions and trades and come playoff time they choke hard due to predictable injuries, bad coaching, and their best players disappearing.
