My grey grew out quite a bit during the pandemic, but I wasn't quite ready to commit, so I did dye it once things opened back up. But then when the grey started to come back in I realized how much better I looked with the grey - it just seemed to complement my coloring much better. I did chop it once and hated it, so I'm growing it out again, and, like you, I have the dark underlayers and I love the contrast!! I get so many complements now that I'm going grey!

I went gray much like you in my mid-twenties. At 43 I decided I was over coloring it. I have had a pixie cut for years, so it only took about 1 year to 'fully grow out'. I'd say I'm about 70% gray. I may go back to coloring it, but it's nice nice to have extra time and money. Your current look is great...I wouldn't worry about chopping it off.

My daughter talked me into a short cut, that’s when I discovered the natural body my hair has…like the curly girl method. I have never colored my hair but use a little temporary color wash as my gray is coming in. It also helps that I was blonde to start with. Love your lashes…I have none🤓 Thanks for sharing

I started going gray when I was about 28. I have been coloring my hair since then. I’m 53 now. During Covid I let it go gray. I did cut it short to speed the process but I had to go get it cut every 3 weeks to maintain the style so I’m not sure what I accomplished. I guess 30 minutes versus 3 hours was better. Anyway I loved it. Then one day I was looking at myself in my son’s high school graduation pics and I thought hell no! I have to color this immediately. I’m back to dark brown. I’m not sure why but I just freaked out.

The grey transition is so difficult......mine has been bleached to light blonde so it coordinates well with my very white arrivals hahaha... Probably every 3 weeks I use L'Oreal toning conditioner or purple shampoo from the salon. I can't imagine chopping my hair at this point in life because my hair grows so much more slowly since I've waved 30 goodbye (I'm 51 now and my hair moves slower than snails) Also my fave true crime podcasts or KZreadrs are by Bailey Sarien....Murder, Mystery and Make-up or Dark History

I've enjoyed seeing your silver transition, your hair looks so lovely. I think we're a similar age, and I've only just started to get a few grey hairs (totally genetic, my parents were well in their sixties before the grey became noticeable). I haven't dyed my hair in about 15 years, and I plan to just embrace the greys. Thanks so much for the curl tutorial, i am hopeless at doing my hair.

I am totally silver gray over time in my fifties. No need for toner it just happened over time. Three months ago just chopped off and went short with a layered bob. You really need to add layers to get any type of styling to the hair or movement. If you go short -- no bangs! I look like a little girl with gray hair which is so weird. Working with getting hydration and protection from the heat from using a hair dryer. Can I ask what is so great about this TYMO hairdryer. Would love a video that explains why it works so well on gray hair or graying hair. Thank you! Love this video!!

Definitely agree about the layers...I'm a huge fan of layers!! The main thing I really like about the TYMO dryer is being able to have multiple temperatures for drying and to easily see digitally what temperature you are drying your hair at. Just the "air dry" setting (80 degrees) works great because it's so powerful...gets my hair dry, without all the extra heat.

@@GenxGypsy1968 I think that’s important about the heat. Noticing that when I dry my hair at high heat, it actually dries my hair to a white tone. I still have salt and pepper hair but the white happens after too much heat from the hair dryer. Maybe I’ll get it when you can get a discounted price for the review or maybe my birthday would be a good time. Thanks so much for your response. Love yah!!

I was very lucky I had a great hair stylist. After 30 years dying it I was told I should let it grow out. I had 80 percent silver hair and she matched that silver and died the rest of may hair. I am thrilled with it. I need the gloves where can I find it?

I'm trying to figure out if you know that you have naturally wavy/curly hair. Not just "a little natural body." Looking at your hair wet, i would bet you have 2b, possibly 2c or 3a curls. Which doesn't mean you have to jump down the wavy/curly rabbit hole, but women who truly have straight hair are unlikely to get the same results as you. My great grandma was 105 when she passed away, and she had salt and pepper grey hair. My dad is 74 and his beard is almost totally grey, but he's maybe 50% grey on his head. My mom was almost entirely grey by her early 30s, and has always had very thin hair. It's been pretty obvious for quite a while that I inherited my dad's greying gene, but is wasn't until about 20 years ago that it dawned on me that they greying gene and the hair density gene were almost certainly two totally different genes. I panicked until my dad pointed out that I had his thick, occasionally difficult to tame eyebrows.
