Good humor video, and USEFUL!!! I could have used it when I accidentally locked our door and spent hours troubleshooting, reprogramming car remotes and wall keypads; good job!

What if the lock button is engaged and there's no access from inside the garage. Does disconnecting then reconnecting the power disengage the lock feature?

@@venturamunoz748I don't think it does. I ended up hiring someone to open it for me. It's fairly easy to open any garage door tbh.

My button is flashing it's a single button wall unit ... I've held it for a few seconds numerous times and it still will not switch to its solid green glow to allow me control of my garage door

Thanks for sharing the fast blinking light. I think a kid accidentally hit that button and was so confused on why the openers were dead, and the pad was good. #thank_you

In our case, the failure of $.000001 of plastic foam, that acts as the "spring" behind the wall control buttons and holds them in position, disabled the entire wall control and the entire system. Genie's solution is a new system as parts are no longer made for the Genie Pro 98S. My solution was $.00001 of plastic foam and some two-sided tape. That problem was easily foreseen by Genie.

Please help: I can't get my opener out of lock mode. The LED is blinking fast. I pressed the lock button for 5 seconds and released it but the LED keeps blinking fast. The light button does not work to turn on and off the lights.

Why wouldn't they make a mouse to disable the wall unit also? Was that too hard of a feat for them to add? You need to be able to also lock the wall unit so that kids can't open it. Safety first right?

Posting this in the hopes that some poor soul like myself might find it and save themselves having to buy a wall unit or an entirely new head unit! I have a Marantec head unit, and a wall button, but NO WALL UNIT! Recently the power went out in my house and the head unit went into vacation mode. I scoured the internet, watched every KZread video I could find, and even called a local garage repair man. Every outlet of information just shows you how to reset vacation mode with the wall unit. I repeat, I do not have a wall unit, so all of that advice was not helping. I eventually found a nameless source that gave me a crazy lifehack style remedy. Disconnect the garage door button from the wall, and pull out the two leads (mine were white and blue, but I'm sure this may vary). Create a saltwater solution in a small cup. Put the leads in the cup and hold them under the water for 10 seconds. I am not sure what the heck is happening there, but not a single other thing I tried worked. This did. I can use my garage door opener to get back into my garage. Good luck to anyone who might run across this in the future, and I hope this helps!
