IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! ABYSS Open my eyes in a daze How long has it been? Am I so out of place? Warmth I can no longer feel My mountain is gone, I'm surrounded by steel The strangest of structures arises ahead Seems to be held up by nothing Where have I gone, do I dream? How can the stars be all I can see? Dark embrace Has someone awakened me? Please show your face Cold and quiet space Out so far beyond stars and the sun Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown Now, to the edge of imagination Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope Feverishly I explore Searching for someone, there has to be more I can't be the only one here My path always guides me, there's nothing to fear Then why do I feel so immensely alone This can't be the end of my story Onward I go once again Fighting my way to my final breath Into the abyss Out so far beyond stars and the sun Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown Now, to the edge of imagination Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope Summon the strength of millenniums past Forged by the fire and flame I am the weapon of empires vast Immortal is more than a name Out so far beyond stars and the sun Filling my heart up with wonder, unknown Now, to the edge of imagination Open my eyes to phenomenon, and hope Cry into the chasm ahead Into the sky never ending, although Time will tell if I'm worthy of it A future of final transcending, alone

Great reaction. This is from UTA's latest album, I think I love the title track Abyss more now than when it first released kicking off the album. Most reactors start with Awakening, which is old school metal with new school metal mixed in and amazing without the synths you heard in this reaction. I may recommend, however, sticking with the Abyss album and trying Legacy for the Brittney choir, or if you are bold jump right into their potential magnum opus The Wind that Shapes the Land.

Doro Persch (warlock) was female. Lita Ford, Vixen, Femme Fatale. All these bands/Artist were hard rock/metal and had female singers. You would enjoy Kamalot and Wintersun. Both are amazing and have superb talent. Enjoyed the reaction.

Nice reaction !! This is a very special band indeed. You may not "get" ( the videos) at first,, but they all coincide with their last 2 albums as both are a continuing story.... You should try " Awakening full band playthrough" which is the first track off of albumn "Apex" ..... 1st chapter in this double album masterpiece "Apex " / "Abyss".... Hope you guys keep going on with them... I grew up listining to everything you mentioned,, this band is BY FAR the best new music I've come to Love !!! p.s. Yeah they sound Phenomenal live as well !!! Cheers !!

Glad you guys like UTA. Brittney's voice reminds me of Dio or Bruce Dickerson. They are very much old school power metal. Saw them live back in December in a small club and it was amazing. They are just as good live and very fun (if you bring a light saber Brittney might duel with you from the stage!). This song is from their second album in the Immortal storyline. The Immortal is a creature that is cursed to obey people who awaken him from his thousand year sleep in a mountain. The first album of the series, Apex, has him doing battle with the Matriarch in an ancient time. This song is the second track from the second Immortal album by the same name. In this song the Immortal is awakened again but now he is in a spaceship in deep space instead of on Earth in his mountain. As he wanders the ship looking for his master that awakened him he thinks back on his past actions and wonders what teh future holds for him. Awakening is a great follow up song and is also the story of the Immortal being awakened by the Matriarch to find her sons so she can kill them in a ritual to achieve immortality. Then follow up with Cleanse the Bloodlines. For a really fun video checkout Brittney singing Queen of the Reich in a karoke bar in Scotland after a performing a full show! kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGxkprSqn6rffNo.html. Would hate to follow her. Also love her in Star Ones Fate of Man, a Terminator inspired song. Probably the first of the European female metal singers is Anneke van Giersbergen who inspired many female metal vocalists including Floor. Strange Machines with her first band The Gathering is a good introduction to her early stuff (1996). kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y3yJr9minrmYcbQ.html Devin Townsend called her the metal Tinkerbell. Her duet with Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation is just gorgeous.

Actually, if you follow the D&D game, the world the Immortal and the Matriarch come from isn't all that ancient, instead being a mix of sword and sorcery and high technology, kind of like Final Fantasy. As for the timeline, it's only been 50 years since the Matriarch first ascended and when the Immortal wakes up in Abyss.

Nice reaction. I love this band. BRITTNEY Slayes is awesome and the band is insanely talented 👏 dive into this rabbit hole it's well worth it. 5 albums 2 ep,s my favorite albums are time stands still, Apex and Abyss the last 2 are a concept telling a story Brittney wrote . Talks of a picture book and comic book in the making telling the story in more detail. 😀 Check out Test Your Metal and Tonight We Ride to hear more of Brittney hitting some high notes 🚀 🌙

Andrew, the redhead guitar player, does all the synth work. They are currently without a full time bassist. Their catalog is fairly deep but Abyss is the title track on the second album of a two part Concept piece, Apex and then Abyss. The entity in space is the Immortal in the story. This album, Abyss, won the Juno for best metal album last year (2021) in Canada. They are all insanely skilled and talented musicians. Grant and Andrew both play seven strings.

The 70’s band Heart with the Wilson sisters was the first female fronted band came quickly to mind in this old Metal/rock head! Have you checked out , Halestorm with Lzzy Hale? Freak Like Me, I Am The Fire Apocalyptic or Miss The Misery all official videos would be a good introduction. Lzzy has a great raspy rocker chick voice & she writes most of the music for her band. ( her brother is the drummer) all the members of the band are equally talented! Give the dogs a pat on the head for me ! Rock On Stay Safe!🙏🐶🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Hey guys! I'm just gonna say, Unleash the Archers continues to blow my mind. I thought that Tonight We Ride or Queen of the Reich had high notes -- yet on UtA's very first album, Brittney hit a higher note there than she ever has on any of the new stuff, hitting what I swear is an A6, fully a full octave above Tonight We Ride. And if you want a live performance, check out Brittney singing karaoke, in an Edinburgh, Scotland, bar, right after a full set, when she busts out Queen of the Reich by Queensryche.

You guys should do a reaction to a pretty new Swedish band called Nestor, they’re doing new but very authentic sounding ’80s rock. A few song recommendations: On the Run 1989 Tomorrow (featuring Samantha Fox, yes that one) I think you’ll like them.

Now I have to go back and look to see if you have reacted to Within Temptation, My favorite band for over a decade now, and where I have only one or maybe 2 songs out of their entire catalog,, that I do not like do not like since 1997. I find that out of all metal bands, Both in North America or Europe, Is the most listening and cut straight to my heart and soul as well as my mind.... Love her bel canto angelic tone. SHE HEALS... SHE ENERGISES. AND At age 48 she still has it.... Go have a listen to their latest single release from July 8th 2022::: DON'TPRAY FOR ME

This is a newer sound for them.. More of a retro hard rock Feel. This particular track is got a got a similar feel to a 1980s Journey song. Oh, and Steve Perry sang like a girl, so there To me though Britney is like a female Ronnie James Dio. I suppose after this you went and reacted to their song "Awakening" or "tonight we ride"

Why are you calling your videos "nightwish fans react..."? It kind of looks like trying to increase the visibility of the video by putting a keyword that is popular even when it doesn't really have anything to do with the vid. If that's not the case I apologize for suggesting it might be, but...idk, not cool, friends.
