Thank you all for your comments and feedback! I can't wait to share the next project. Here's a question - can we get to 1000 subscribers by the end of the year? Only if you hit that subscribe button! Cheers!

I've been contemplating a DIY stick for some time now and a dual stage trigger has been a major consideration, you have SOLVED that problem. Thanks.

Great work! You ought to consider MJF or SLS printing for these since the durability is much higher than FDM. Or you can go all in and make these parts with DMLS. I'd expect the cost to be under a hundred bucks.

Looks good! I have made Yours F4 stick and it came out perfect. I see several different versions of the housing and the trigger. Which ones should I use for the microswithes version?

Amazing work! Would you also care to include the files for that very first, early design you have shown, involving a microswitch whose lever then hits the second stage tact switch? It would be useful for when the opposite of mil-spec is required, like you mentioned for arcade sims like mechwarrior or space sims with long trigger times (where you want very light actuation force).

Really great work. I did something similar in function with an airsoft design of mine. Airsoft has terrible triggers compared to their real counterparts. I achieved the break action with a flexible printed spring as part of the sear. I'm wondering if the sideways force on your switches will result in an eventual shearing?

Great job! Could you please tell me how you made the sticks? I have the entire bottom part of my own done, but can not figure out how to do the top. I am trying to modal a t-37 stick I bought and it is slightly different than the ones you already have. Also different electronics so I cant just steal yours. Please let me know! Thanks you for your time!

Brilliant solution! Is there any concern with potentially shearing off the buttons from the microswitches due to being loaded sideways?

  • @thesimnet

Thank you! Yes there is - I went through about 20-25 prints before finding an set of angles that reduced the wear to an acceptable level. I think the combination of the softer PLA and reduced angle should keep the change of a shear low. I have been using one of these heavier triggers for about a month now and I haven't had any reduction in sensation, but I will definitely make an update post if something changes.

  • @thesimnet

The V1 trigger and housing are the tact switch bases triggers, everything else are hte microswitch based triggers. The differences between them are dimensional, one is for an F-15 stick, one is for an F-4 phantom stick, and the other is for an F-18 stick, but they will all function the same way
