The F-15 was one of the first fighter jets to feature HOTAS (Hands on Throttle and Stick) meaning many of the most important functions of the weapon systems and navigation can be controlled without removing your hands from the stick and throttle. This way, the pilot can always fly the airplane, even in changing combat scenarios.
I love this stick, and it is distinctly different from the Thrustmaster and Winwing Hornet sticks. I hope you like this video - feel free to comment below if you have any questions or feedback for me. Thank you!

    Love your work! I "borrowed" one of your ideas in my build. Any chance you'll be making an F14 grip? I'm a bit partial to that airplane :) and the 3d files that are out the aren't exactly great. Either way, keep up the great work!

    That's awesome! I'm happy to hear that, my hope is always that folks find these useful in their own projects as well. I am indeed thinking about that, it's on my list - I want to branch out into analogue inputs as most of my grip designs currently are button only - once I jump that hurdle, the Tomcat grip is #1 on the list! Also - just went to your channel, your F-14 throttle is AMAZING!

    That's an impressive design. I dreamed to have something like this when I was converting a ffb2 with a F15 grip, and end up using a SUNCOM F15 grip. I'm really interested in your trigger design since I'm always wondering why nobody tried to replicate OTTO's tactile feeling (and without all the mil-spec ratings that makes them expensive), and I'm so happy to see someone thinking the same! Now if we can have a replicate OTTO 4-way switch with a similar tactile feeling, it might be a grip that surpass anything on the market!

    hello, do you have the step file for the F-5 tiger extension? because I would like to modify it because I have the B8 grip with thrustmaster thread version, so I would like the possibility to modify the upper part for this thread and also make a slot for the shift register card at the inside the extension, the same principle as you did on your F-15 extension project. In PM if you want

    With that, can the harrier stick be done modding this one ??

  • @thesimnet

    @thesimnet

    6 ай бұрын

    In terms of inputs, you can swap the trim and castle hats similar to the harrier with this grip. That being said, I do believe the Harrier grip is actually the same form factor as the F-18 Hornet grip with the inputs swapped

    I'm totally new and bought my 3D printer exclusively for your project. My 3D printer is a Bambu A1, I did buy also PLA Basic filament. Can you recommend me the best filament quality for this project. Sound to me PLA basic is not the best for that.

  • @thesimnet

    @thesimnet

    6 ай бұрын

    I personally use PLA Basic and I have had no issues. I print with 0.2 layer height and 20% infill for prototypes, and 0.1 layer height and 100% infill for final grips. The most important thing I have found is making sure the bed is level!

    awesome choice im sure a bambulab will help if you get any issues just try some easy prints i think they come on the printer's SD card just dont expect such a print to print perfectly your first time! also its well worth the wait to reduce the layer height (very easy to change in the bambu studio)

  • @thesimnet

    @thesimnet

    Ай бұрын

    You absolutely could, however if printing the whole grip in metal you may need to specify if you want the screw holes tapped. Email me at questions@thesimnet.com if they need adjustments made to the model in order to print fully in metal. Cheers!

    What do you think about connecting it to a winwing base?

  • @thesimnet

    @thesimnet

    6 ай бұрын

    I believe WinWing uses a 6 pin mini din connector unlike the TM grips, but if there is a warthog to WinWing adapter it could be possible! I will do some research. I would not be surprised if WinWing introduced their own F-15 grip, as they already released F-15 throttles. I do not have any WinWing products but generally the consensus seems to be that they make some good quality kit!

    @@theskyscav Thank you for the heads up! The F-18 stick and F-18 stick are close enough that lots of folks won't even notice the difference. That being said, the beauty of this hobby is that I can replicate something exactly as it is - not just "close enough". They are visually and operationally distinct, you can see my WIP F-18 grip at 1:20
