Commander of the 926th combined here! One note - Fields of Fire has to be used on your unit, before that unit shoots. So you have to decide before you see the results of your shooting. Ursula Creed is a great utility piece. I leave her solo (or attached to an infantry squad nearby if there's too much enemy indirect fire) near my Solar Command Squad (Solar, Platoon Command Squad, 10 Krieg or Infantry) in the rear. She hands Fields of Fire to Lord Solar's squad, and there's a mortar in the platoon command squad to hit anyone I want on the battlefield. Amazingly effective! Side note - I appreciate the ideal of not having these epic heroes in your army. Personally, I think there's got to be loads of people in the galaxy taking up the same mantles as Lord Solar, Gaunt's Ghosts, and Ursula Creed. So the miniatures may appear to be those epic heroes, but they're actually my own characters ; )

This isn't directly related to Creed but something you touched on in the video. Kasrkin + Castellan at 145 points is looking pretty spicy coming in from reserve. With Take Aim, FRFSRF, and Sustained1 all together you could get a lot of hits in. Not to mention you can't tie them down with fall back and shoot. Edit: Tested it. He's a waste of points. Just take the Kasrkin and spend the points elsewhere.

I'm also thinking (and I could be wrong) but I honestly think she and the Kasrkin + Creed do work out to 3 orders honestly. Cause the Warrior Elite thing says: "Warrior Elite: In your Command phase, you can select one Order to affect this unit until the start of your next Command phase, in addition to any other Orders issued to this unit by an OFFICER model this turn." And it specifically says "in addition to *any* other orders issued" it doesn't say "in addition to another order". But that's just my interpretation and it's probably gonna be difficult to be sure unless GW just flat out tells us Yes or No on it tbh. Either way, you either have 3 orders on Kasrkin, or you have a spare order in your back pocket for when you have an infantry unit nearby that needs some. Plus I just like the idea of her with Kasrkin as a bodyguard. I just think it's neat.

@@undeceased4574 Yes even more so now because with the points update it comes in at 165, which is only 5 points less than a Scion Command + 10 Scions. They function exactly the same but the Scions get Deep Strike so they aren't limited to coming in on the board edge, have more special weapons, can receive 2 orders with the command rod, and get full re-rolls pretty much all the time (Take Aim + Re-Roll 1's or just full re-rolls if enemy is on objective). It's not even a close comparison now, the Scions are just strictly better in every way. Kasrkin still have their role with the Scout ability, but if you attach the Castellan they lose Scout since it's not on his datasheet. GW did them dirty with the 20 point price hike. Also, at most tournaments you can't double move move move. WTC has ruled they need to receive 2 different orders.

I run her unattached, standing in the middle of my artillery, as the cheapest leader that can issue take aim to two units.

Same. Frees up Leontus' orders for use on tanks instead of Artillery. They should have just named her "Artillery Officer Creed" with the ruleset she has.

@@jacket2848 You're correct she cannot order Basilisks but she can order anything with the Regiment keyword. So Earthshaker & Medusa Batteries, FOBs, etc can all fire indirect.

As a IG player would you ever take infantry squads over cadians? I have 3 command squads and 120 infantry painted and am wondering if I should start moving towards the new cadains.

I personally see no reason whatsoever that would stop you from playing Infantry Squad models as Cadians, as long as either you run them only as Cadians or you make it clear to your opponent which models represent Cadians and which normal Infantry Squads (by different Squad markings, Bases, etc).

I haven't yet, but they do have different utility and advantages. The +1 to save while on objectives is a great buff plus access to heavy weapons is awesome.

I like creed with infantry squads because she can target her own squad for field's of fire and you get 3 mortars and the platoon command squad will let you get field's of fire even when battle shocked .

Fir the most part, im very fond of Lady Creed. I lament that we lost Usarkar Creed, but I think she is a fair replacement, especially as she is a bit different; she isn't quite "the old unit with a female swapped head." So, I accept that this might be a more Cadians Guard-focused place, and as a Cadian fan, I support, but I guess I do still wonder about your opinions on Lord Solar Leontus; if you use him, or disqualify, because not Cadian, but still think he's good, just don't like, and/or how you prefer to field him? If you think Creed keeps up, surpasses, or plays well alongside, even if they combine for a fair bit of points, with each of them, their own added Command Squads, and big blobs of ablative...of guns...of sqyad for them to join? He's just so popular, at the monent, that im interested in your opinion, assumibg i didn't miss an existing video, or its on the list, and I just need to wait.

Name character = F tier. Should not exist. Genuinely bad for the game. Almost always broken in either direction. Duct Tape units that hide the problems of the army or shiny turds only useful to excuse your bad list as 'fluffy.'

@@DeathKorpsCommander-sm1um A: 'Free' FoF keeps everything that FoF COULD go on overpriced as if it always gets FoF. It isn't 'free,' we are paying for it in the points. B: It's not that she specifically has bad stats or rules but that any named character is bad design space for us as a faction and this game as whole. This is an army vs army strategy game not a hero vs hero arcade style fighter game

I think for narrative mindsets they are a ton of fun. I love being able to throw in named Inquisitors, epic heroes leading troops across the battlefield, wounding daemon primarchs with lasgun volleys, and so on. I love the idea of fighting battles to retake fallen systems with Ursula Creed. I love when Farsight appears and fights off a chaos warband. It's a lot of fun and what can make playing 40k special often times. I often won't judge something purely on mechanics and point efficiency. I think that often leads to a mindset not open to various possibilities because a player has already counted something out just because of points. I think there is a lot of joy and fun to be found with playing with and against named characters.

@@CadianSergeantSteel From my point of view needing named characters to tell a story shows a lack of imagination not that these are good for the game. Discounting a unit because of perceived power is not limited to named characters so I don't think that really matters for this.
