I worked at a jewish summer camp the past three years and knew some people with these names, especially Noam, Ezra and Ezekiel, they are beautiful💗 My friend was called shoshana, And she went by shoshie (pronounced show-she) I always loved her name! Can’t wait for an update on finn :)

If you’re ever considering name your child levana (לבנה) just know that it’s le va na with an emphasis on the na. and levana is the feminine version of the word white. ❤️ beautiful name!

I work in childcare and I look after a little girl called “Shikanah”. Never known anyone with this name before! Love it!!

I love the name Zera!! Fun twist on Vera, and it would pair nicely with Veda for twin girls using more obscure letters! I’d love to see a video listing unique names using the “lee” sound! I know how much you love a strong L in names. My family has a tradition of first-born daughters having a “Lee” in their middle name, so I’m always interested to see new names that fit that requirement!

Being Jewish and going to a Jewish school I've heard most of these names. I know a few Dinahs (all pronounced "dEEnah". I also know a few Shais but we pronounce it like shy. Lastly is the name Shira, which was the name of a girl in the grade below mine, she was named quite fittingly as she could sing beautifully!

@@evafara HI, that's very cool, I'm from South Africa! I would think it would be spelled Adinah. Many Hebrew names that usually just end in an A, will have an added H to them. All the A letters in your Hebrew name will be pronounced U, like sUn or fUn or Under. I hope that helps. I'm not fluent in Hebrew so I'm still not 100% I'm correct but I think what I said is right.

Actually, the name "Solomon" is supposed to be pronounced "Shlomo" in hebrew, and "Ezekiel" is probably supposed to be "Yechezkel".

my name is Raisa and it is hebrew for rose. it is traditionally pronounced rye-ee-sa but my mom put her own canadian twist on the pronunciation with ray-sha. i was hoping i’d made it onto the list! it’s so unique i’ve only ever met one other person with it and the spelling was different. i’ve been picked on for my name but i chose to take it as a compliment because i think they were just jealous they didn’t have as fun of a name!!

If you like Ezra because of it's meaning, but not it's popularity, consider Azariah. It's a boy's name, but could easily be used for girls too. We named my son Avishai, "gift from the father" because I already have a niece with "shy" in her name. And btw, in Hebrew, "Shai", is pronounced "Shy".

I was so excited for this one. Hebrew are so beautiful !! Dinah and Levana are so delicate and strong. In Portuguese we'd stress the last syllable in Dinah, I love it ! My suggestions are Victorian or old Latin names Xx

Here’s some other Hebrew options: Devorah is the Hebrew spelling of Debra or Deborah. So if you want to honor a family member called Debra but don’t want a baby Debbie that’s a good option. Aviva has always been a favorite of mine. And it’s a bit of a wild card but if you like Kim K’s baby Psalm but want something that sounds more name-like you could use Selah. It’s a word found in the psalms and it’s meaning isn’t known but people think it could indicate either a break in singing for a musical interlude or be a call for people to meditate on what they just read or heard. But it sounds really pretty and name-like to me.

Oh my gosh I’d love it if you did another video on naming viewers baby! I am pregnant with a little girl and would so love to hear your ideas/opinions on potential names for her. I find girls names really hard!! Levana was by far my fave name on this list. I worry Levana is a company or brand name for something...I can just imagine a male of car ‘the Vauxhall Levana’ or something similar. Oh and Boaz for a boy is so cute. It’s one of my guilty pleasure names, I just wouldn’t be bold enough to use it I don’t think.

I love this channel ❤ Just a random side note, I'm really interested in why we love baby names so much. I'm not pregnant nor do I want children, I use the excuse that I'm a writer but I don't think that's quite it.

I didn't see anything about this in the replies, but I wanted to add some contemporary literary context to a couple of the names: Raziel is a powerful angel in the Shadowhunter series by Cassandra Clare (referenced but rarely seen), and Levana is an evil queen in The Lunar Chronicles (mad and terrifying). Loved the list overall! It's really interesting seeing the background info on some of these unique names!

Cool, it's just not a hebrew name but the greek/roman version of the hebrew name "Eliezer", which indeed means "god has helped" or "god is help".

In Hebrew it is pronounced shy but you can use it both ways still a gorgeous name

You could do a series where each day/week you do a different color. So red names like Crimson and Scarlet, and blue names like Azul and Sky!

My fifth boy (18 months old) is Solomon! I too loved the nickname "Sol," which he gets a lot, and "Solly." And because his toddler brother called him "Baby Wol" when he was first born, he also gets called Wolly a lot, which I also kind of love even though it's more of a pet name than a nickname ;)

I love Hebrew names especially because of the meanings. My nephews are Zion, Micah, Gabriel & Samuel. My daughter's middle name is Joelle. Other favorite Hebrew girl names I've found are Jorah, Dara, Eden, Jael & Shana.
