I just came across a digital multimeter and a clamp meter like this in Lidl just this week. Any particular use cases where this is preferred over a normal multimeter? I put off buying it as I won't be able to do much with electronics for a while now. Don't even know when I can get out my raspberry pi and start tinkering. Good review, appreciate it :)

You can find many similar multimeters in the market but this one from UNI-T has a DC current clamp measurement function while most meters in this price range support only AC current. I'm basically using the UT210E to test and measure electronic components, batteries, and DC AC cables/power strips, and it serves the purpose well. Glad you enjoyed the review.

so this lets you see power frequency in batteries. This will be helpful to know if they have enough juice for (lets say a remote) or if its time to throw them away.

great review.. I have watched a few reviews and most say similar but not as extensive as your tests.. On the other hand many of the comparison videos are quite obviously biased (snob value).. pick flies on minutiae or play down things where it is better. One video mentioned the low amp (milliamp capability) but said it was not as useful as high amp capability???!!! depends on why you buy it and your needs surely.. I have found it difficult to find a DC clamp meter with ability to detect parasitic draw on my car and still be in my price range. This is often bypassed in reviews.

No it doesn't support 2A DC current measurement. But the UNI-T UT210E of the video does.

Can this clamp multimeter detect broken/cuted cable inside the cable sheld using NCV mode?

It practically detects it because the clamp measures the current that flows through a wire. So, if the meter's reading is abnormal theres a defective cable or a fawlty battery/power source.

I suggest the UT210E because I don't have the 210D model to check its functions and run accuracy tests. I tested that multimeter on AC plugs, power strips, and outlets through my KZread videos for the last 3 years.

How to measure resistance of 18650 battery? I tried and it seems that it does not work.

Nisi valjda ohmmetar spajao na izvor napona (bateriju)? Otpor se mjeri na pasivnim elementima kad instrument sluzi ko izvor. Unutarnji otpor baterije mozes izracunati tako da najprije izmjeris napon baterije kad na nju nije spojeno nista pa ju onda opteretis s otpornikom i ponovo izmjeris napon (ili struju, sta ti je lakse) koji ce sad biti manji pa onda na osnovu podataka koje si izmjerio i poznatog otpora izracunas unutarnji otpor. Otpornik s kojim ces bateriju opteretiti stavis takav da struja bude barem pola ampera, za 18650 baterije mozes staviti i otpornik da struja bude 1 A.

@@ChupoCro Bez obzira što ste ovo pokušali objasniti i dalje je totalno nejasno... Napon 18650 baterije u punom napunjenom stanu je 4.2V na 3.0V je na 10% kapaciteta, a na 2.5V je totalno prazna. Što sad staviti kao otpor i gdje(+ - strana?), Kako da to zadržim na bateriji i kako to izmjeriti sa navedenim klamp metrom?

@@majstorivan4805 Sta tocno je nejasno? Unutarnji otpor se ne mjeri nego se izracunava. Da bi ga izracunao moras napraviti mjerenja, nacrtati dvije sheme pa napisati jednadzbe i onda iz njih izracunati unutarnji otpor. Treba nacrtati shemu baterije koja se sastoji od naponskog izvora u seriji s (zamisljenim) otpornikom koji predstavlja unutarnji otpor baterije a koji je nepoznat i kojega treba izracunati. Kada na bateriju nije spojeno nista onda je struja nula pa na tom zamisljenom otporniku koji predstavlja unutarnji otpor nema pada napona i napon koji mjerimo je jednak naponu naponskog izvora kojeg smo si nacrtali na shemi baterije. Nakon toga bateriju opteretimo s nekim teretom, recimo s nekim otpornikom ili potenciometrom. Kada nacrtamo shemu tog novog spoja onda se ona sastoji od naponskog izvora u seriji s zamisljenim otpornikom koji predstavlja unutarnji otpor baterije i s otpornikom kojeg smo spojili kao teret. Kada sad mjerimo napon baterije (koji je na jednak naponu na teretu) onda ce napon kojeg mjerimo biti manji nego je bio ranije a biti ce manji za tocno toliko koliki je pad napona na zamisljenom otporniku koji predstavlja unutarnji otpor baterije. Znaci od napona kojeg smo izmjerili ranije oduzmemo napon kojeg mjerimo sad kad smo spojili i teret a koji je manji i dobijemo razliku. Znamo da je razlika jednaka padu napona na unutarnjem otporu baterije i onda iz poznate struje (koju smo izmjerili s strujnim klijestima) koja tece po Ohm-ovom zakonu izracunamo kolika je vrijednost tog zamisljenog otpornika i to je unutarnji otpor baterije. Kada je struja koja tece pod opterecenjem mala onda je i pad napona na unutarnjem otporu jako mali pa cemo tesko izmjeriti razliku i zato treba za opterecenje odabrati takav otpor da struja bude znatna pa da razliku u naponima bez i s opterecenjem mozemo lako uociti i izmjeriti. To koliki napon baterija ima kad je puna ili prazna nema nikakve veze.

This is not a Wattmeter, it's a multimeter. You can measure the DC power (watts) by measuring the voltage across the load and current. Then you just multiply voltage and current to find the DC power.

I did the outlet test to demonstrate that the particular AC power strip/cable has proper ground protection and output voltage. You never know if something is safe until you check it with a reliable tool so I think this UNI-T instrument offers a precise measurement.

Λέω να πάρω ένα της Bosch που έχει ο σκρουτζ. Σε θερμική κάμερα δεν πάω λόγω υπερβολικού κόστους αν και είναι η καλύτερη λύση!
