Unexpected Change of Plans on Bike Train Adventure Led to an Awesome Experience!
Ойын-сауық
This is another one of those times where I didn't have intention on making a video, but rather to just enjoy the experience.
Since I was already out doing something I enjoy, I figured some of you might enjoy watching some highlights of something that I've filmed before.
Little did I know that the highlights I planned on filming went in a completely different direction and the video ended up being more about something else. When things change unexpectedly, it's not always a bad thing, because in this case it ended up being a really fun experience and made for some great footage. I also recommend checking out my friend Jamie's channel @JamieMakin to see her content.

It's not always good when plans change spare of the moment, but I'd say this time it actually made things even better.
That was such an awesome day! I'm glad we teamed up for another adventure on the Bike Train, and we'll definitely have to make an annual tradition of it. Trains just seem to find me, so I'm not surprised our trip went off the rails so to speak lol! That was truly a train chase, and I'm glad you had that idea. The bike worked fantastically well and I should mention it still had more than half the battery capacity left when we were done. I enjoyed watching your version of the video, hoping to have mine edited and out soon too.

It sure is. Little bit of something for everyone.
Some nice footage of the Great Outdoors as the tourist season gets going. One certainly has to give the Railroad credit for first off preserving Freight Service to the area but then really thinking up some Creative Marketing to attract passenger service which also helps out the local economy. Sometimes that change of plans actually is more fun. Very good filming and we look forward to the next one
The colors your camera captured throughout this video are exceptional! The quality is outstanding!

Definitely a very enjoyable and relaxing video. Thanks. Looking forward to the videos you talked about making this year. As always stay, healthy and God bless you, family, friends and viewers. ❤
What a nice ride. Loved the trains and the waterfalls. My light painting brain was like oh, there's a good spot and there's a good spot. LOL It wasn't as cold this trip at least. If I remember right, y'all were nearly freezing to death by the end last time. Thanks Jamie for your review of the bike. I'm short and a lot of them look like they would be too tall for me. Thanks to both of you for taking us along on this beautiful adventure.

Hi Jay. Joe from Binghamton here. This video was so GREAT! The RBMN chasing was unexpected - and those cool camera angles and time lapses were the icing on the cake. Sorry that you had a sore arm from shooting the footage though!

Would be cool to see you revisit this whenever Reading T1 2102 runs next.
That engine isn't even working a sweat hauling those passenger cars, it sounds idle lol. I wonder why they needed a DPU on the end.
@JamieMakin
Ай бұрын
It's not a true DPU, just set up as a push-pull configuration. The train ride is 25 miles long, and there's no runaround track in or near White Haven. So they just put a diesel on each end and the engineer walks back to the other one for the return trip. It's easier to operate that way than doing a 25 mile shove. The return trip in particular is downgrade so the train is practically coasting lol.
@exohio
Ай бұрын
@@JamieMakin Ahh, that makes sense now lol. Thanks for the answer. Just realized there were 3 different trains in this video and 4 different engines. The first train in the configuration we talked about with 2 engines, and the other 2 trains with a single engine for each.
As always stunning and well done.
Thanks for the video jay this was awesome keep up great work :D

That was great! Sometimes with your titles, I'm not sure what to expect. 🤔 Always a pleasure in the end. I love riding trains, don't have any like yours where I live, but the horn is always a bit loud for me. It amazes me that trains still exist today, I bet it takes a lot of work keeping the cars and track in good shape. I do have 2 questions - #1 if the engine was able to change direction for the connection, why not just back in to connect to the Caboose vs. driving backwards? #2 Does the engine number represent the year it was put into service? If so, they looked great for their age. The caboose is always my favorite car, I like the way it's shaped, plus it's usually furthest from the horn. 😉 Thanks for taking us along! 🌟

Regarding your questions, I'm not certain on the moving of the locomotive, but the number is to identify. They are specifically number, but not for year built. But if you search the number for example (r&n #2014) you'll find info on when it was built and who it was previously owned by.
This must have been a few weeks ago when the weather didn't want to act right 😊
