They definitely should have broken the streak, because it was the biggest rub ever built up in the history of professional wrestling. It would have been an incredible waste, a waste of undertaker's entire career, to not use the breaking of the streak like that. It would have all been for nothing, if they didn't break the streak. It would have been saying that Undertaker's whole career never really meant anything, and that all the blood sweat and tears he put in over 3 decades wasn't important or meaningful. Never in the entire history of professional wrestling worldwide, had been built up as big as Taker's streak. They HAD to use it, otherwise what would have been the point of it all? Not using it would be like climbing up almost the entirety of mount everest, but then when you're just a couple of yards below the peak of the mountain, you decide to end your climb there and turn back, so that you never actually climb to the top of mount everest but just 99.99% of it. Why wouldn't you just climb up those extra few yards to get to the very top of the mountain? If you actually turned back then, then it would have meant all the incredibly strenuous effort you put in over the days and weeks of being there climbing would have been for nothing. No, nobody would ever climb up it but then turn around only a few yards from the peak. And similarly, breaking undertaker's streak was the biggest deal in the history of wrestling. They'd put in decades of very hard work to build it up, and you're just gonna not use it right at the end when you could give someone the biggest rub the business has ever seen? Then what was the point of doing the streak in the first place!? I don't think Brock was the best decision for who to end the streak, but I think it's worked out very well. Since he broke the streak he's remained as the final boss of WWE, the guy everyone has to beat to reach the top of the roster. WWE have been able to use Brock time and time and time again to lose to the next big thing in the company, the next top guy, and so despite Brock losing a fair amount, he still remains very credible as an undefeatable-seeming beast of a man. They've got a whole decade of use of Brock as the ultimate jobber ever. And it's because he broke the streak, and so he has permanent credibility forever more, despite how often he loses. So in that sense, WWE got an incredible amount of good, positive things, from having Brock break the streak. So even though I would have picked someone else to break the streak, personally, I think WWE have definitely made great use of Brock being the one, they've really got their money's worth from it, and so it's completely justified in that sense.

@@Kosten_2K I can respect him wanting to go out in that way, knowing how old school he was. What’s always bothered me is that Brock didn’t need the win, and seeing that Taker worked every Mania to follow (except 35, if my memory is correct,) there were still a few chances to honor that wish while making a new star. Instead Roman Reigns was put in an impossible position a few years later, and Bray Wyatt was sacrificed for a feud that was without its most compelling element from the jump thanks to the previous Mania.

@@gabepollock1641 ask Vince he was the main culprit for it. I think if Vince is smart by using Roman to end the streak and turning him heel on raw next day, we will get one of the greatest heel earlier than the tribal chief era, but Vince with his ego still want Roman to be a face of the company by building him like super Cena at that time.

Kane ending the streak in one of the 2 matches he had with Taker would not have been as big. The streak was still very young by the 2nd time they faced off at mania. The first match Taker was 6-0 going into it and the streak wasn’t even talked about at that point in time. the second match Taker was 11-0 going into it. So no it would not have been as big of a deal as when Brock ended the 21-0 streak. Kane was already finished and buried at that point of his career. Bray Wyatt was still young(Only 25)and being booked horribly. If he had beaten Taker in Brocks place, he would’ve became bigger then he was and won more championships and main evented more Wrestlemanias.

Nobody should of to be fair I think Taker is being modest here, deep down that should of been kept safe and unbroken
Of the two it should have been Bray. The narrative at the time was that Bray was the ‘new’ Undertaker and it would have cemented it. Roman was already destined for his top spot. Bray made it part of his character that he was overlooked, it’s what his second match at mania with Cena was about. Had he been the guy to break the streak it would have shot him to the moon instead of being misused for so long.
Undertaker retiring with the streak in tact, would've been the greatest WWE & Wrestlemania feat of all time

Bray Wyatt should have been the one, he has the best character work out of anyone who has ever been in the WWE, if they gave that man free leash, we would have a new unbeatable fenom.

If you wanna make that weak point. we can use that same analogy with Roman. boxing or UFC champions are required to defend their belt twice a year. this is pro wrestling. Brock did stay with the company for the 10 years, but with all that time off and he went off to do another MMA fight in between that 10 years. that does not add up to 10 years of work in the company. Brock was already a huge star. breaking the streak did nothing to Brock. that is the point. they wasted the streak against a guy who was already an established main eventer. a guy who has accomplished more than anybody on the roster. the streak should have never ended. unless it was to elevate som1 to super stardom. which Brock already had. after Taker’s streak was over he wrestled 5 more manias. there was no stakes at all, there was no suspense at all since the streak was over. pro wrestling is pre determined. you have 1 chance with this gimmick match to get som1 over that needs it the most. then you wasted it on a guy who was already established. also Brock’s run at that time was not that good. his run in 2003 to 2004 was way better. when he came back he seemed lazy as f. that’s what makes him beating the streak even worse. he didn’t take his craft as seriously as he did back 03 or 04. can’t cry over spilt milk, but acting like they didn’t drop the ball with Taker’s streak. you’re being pretty delusional at this point. Idc how long he’s been in the company. what they did was not a smart business decision. this is about making new megastars for the future.

With the exception of winning a royal rumble or the newly introduced MITB ladder match. It wouldn't have really 'elevated' his career because he was already at his all time peak in 2006
Definitely bray RIP😭
If Taker didn't lose to Shawn or Triple H, then he shouldn't have lost it to anyone besides like a Bray Wyatt as a passing of the torch retirement match.
Coming back to watch this hits different now that Bray is no longer with us.
I think Kane tbh

But Kane is his storyline brother though, it couldn't be Kane.
It didn't need to be broken. Nobody has become bigger than the streak amongst wrestling fans.
I lover Underwear as much as the next guy. But Ramon Noodles beating him during WeenieHut Juniors woulda made it impossible for anyone to take him seriously and not see everything as a massive push. Edit: what I'm saying is I disagree with Undy's opinion here.
"Bray Wyatt, he's going to go to that next level" *Vince McMahon music hits*
Brock too talented is what hes trying to say
With the legend of the undertaker, the streak should’ve never been broken. With someone so dedicated to the company with the story line of a legend why ruin something that would hallmark history in the industry.
Roman 2020(beginning of bloodline) should have do that
Rest in power Bray wyatt/the fiend/windham we will never forget you heavens gate LET HiM iN
U the g.o.a.t man
Mark was a true professional
Tbh out of all the ppl that the undertakers put over there's only been 5 or 6 ppl who hes lost to that ive actually been convinced by. Triple H, Batista , Kane, Big show, Brock lesnar and kurt angle. And so there's no one else who i woulda thought could break it and not recieve more hate than praise.
I'll say it EVERYTIME , it should've been Kane, and it should've been Taker's last wm...... A perfect ending to the storyline.
The streak never should've ended. And it baffles me how people used to say it should've been Cena to end it. What sense would that have made? Lesnar and Taker had multiple feuds over the years. Kane, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels had several feuds with Taker over the years. Even Vince and Shane McMahon had several feuds with Taker. How many feuds did Cena and Taker have? Fucking 1, way back in 2003. *Update* R.I.P to Bray. Brock definitely didn't need it. Personally I still think it should have been Kane even though he didn't need it either. At that time, it should have been Bray, no offense to Roman but, he didn't deserve it then.
I ❤the undertaker and Kane In ring work
The streak ending is what broke my watching wrestling streak :v
He didn't need it but he was the only one with the pedigree and physical prowess to believably beat him
I'd say kane deserved it the most .
it needed to be a Heel cause the heat was always gonna be crazy

I wouldn't have minded if it was CM Punk.
If Roman beat Taker then his years long title reign lol would have actually made more sense.
whatever but you are a legend.
Would love if it was actually Bray Wyatt. The next one to maintain the fear factor in WWE, he needed it
Bray Wyatt 💔 deserves the most
Hornswaggle could've used that rub.
In my opinion it should have been Shawn Michaels in one of those matches they had at wrestlemania in 09’-10’
I think WWE officials were worried about Brock Lesnar losing his unstoppable credibility if he lost a second consecutive time at Wrestlemania since his return. If Brock had defeated Triple H at Wrestlemania 29 maybe they would have been more willing to let him lose the next year and give the streak to another young talent. However Triple H would also have earned three consecutive losses at Wrestlemania.
Bray hits different now…but also imagining if Roman started the tribal chief character after beating the streak the amount of legit heat would’ve been nuclear
He talking about Wyatt is so...😢
Everyone would’ve hated Roman even more than they already did. Bad idea. Might as well be the ncaa, ufc and wwe champion to do it.
Judging by wat undertaker has accomplished all these years, i think that win needed someone of brock's nature "The bigger they are ther harder they fall"
Rip Bray Wyatt
I think that's right but at least it's believable with Brock. Perhaps Brock was more popular than those other guys. Maybe that had something to do with it. Perhaps WWE wanted to test the water before having someone do it who was not fully established yet or someone that wasn't totally over. Once the streak is broken, it's easier to have Undertaker put others over without too much backlash. Brock was a guy who had beaten The Undertaker before so it's easier for WWE to get away with breaking the streak that way. Would it have gone down worse if someone less popular had been the one to do it? Possibly. I think for a current roster member to do it, they have to be massively over. Another wrestler who has a bit of legend status themselves but isn't over the hill, as well as being convincing as a tough guy and also legit tough does actually make sense. Brock is a monster. You'd believe that he could do it. Anyone who defeats Taker after, that perhaps the fans aren't fully behind is not going to face as much backlash if the streak is already broken. Once WWE has chosen their guy, they need to push them but sometimes it isn't always who the fans want it to be. It often is. Historically, it often went the way of the fans but not always and less so in more recent times. It's much better when the person is massively over. That did become more of a rarity over time but it's always been about going in a direction that suits the character. Being a heel suits Roman Reigns, being a face didn't. Some suit both the face and heel persona. Some only suit one and sometimes it's about what type of face or heel. It's timing also. Sometimes a wrestler will have to start as one in order to be the other. Case and point, The Rock and Austin had to be heels before they became faces that the fans would get behind. If they're going to be faces, they have to be badass, anti-hero types in order for the transition to work. Being edgy and badass is what made guys like Rock and Austin popular. Whether they are face or heel, those character traits have to be there. Reigns could probably get over as a face now because he could bring elements of his current character into it. He has more depth as a character now. He would still have to be very mean in order for a face turn to work. He can't be a John Cena. He has to be aggressive and ruthless, a face with attitude. The only major changes would need to be no more cheating, no more help and plenty of heated feuds with heels.
Your 100% right undertaker
Its should never end in first place
Yeah Bray Wyatt would be the best, “receiving” the darkness at WM, you know, he controls the bell and pitch black at the biggest stage would be dope.
brock wasnt the person to shoulda done it but it was the most unexpected moment too which i dont mind its hard to plan who to break taker streak, regardless who broke that it would be the same conversation forever
Dam. Rest in peace bray Wyatt. I stopped watching wwe a long time ago maybe like 2020 cause shit was just getting wack but bray went hardd
The Fiend ending the streak and retiring Taker would’ve been a crazy passing the torch moment.
I'd rather Brock break it than the Roman we had back then. Ofc I'd rather have had neither of them break it and it be someone who A) was loved & B) needed that lil extra push. People kinda in the Rusev or Cesaro position (no, I'm not saying them, just people around that area 🤷🏼♂️)
Bray shouldve done it!
Definitely Brayy,, he literally is the modern embodiment of UT taker was never a wordy guy but brayy is and he vocabulary and ability to articulate his word in a dark symbolic metaphoric phrasing is amazing. Not only that but BW is the freaking beat in the ring. And he can bring that dark edge. I’d definitely would have started calling him the New Keeper Of The Yard!!!
Imo bray, he was set to become the next "undertaker" and had he beaten the streak that would've cemented it.
What was Vine thinking? Lesner didn't need that push he was already up there
Legend 👍👍👍
I always thought it should be Bray
I think bray would’ve been a good pick. Kinda like a pass the torch type deal. Undertakers old. We know that much. So to pass the mystery figure legacy. To bray. Sensational
The streak should have never been broken in the first place.
I still think Bray should have won their Wrestlemania match during his "New Face of Fear" gimmick. I get that meant the Undertaker would have to drop 2 Mania matches in a row but come on....its the Undertaker, hed recover. A Bray win would have definitely elevated him much sooner
BRAY WAS THE ONE AS THE NEW FACE OF FEAR 😭
It would of gave Roman that Hulk Hogan Andre the Giant moment. But the truth is Reigns never had it. And that's why he still is not in a class of Stone Colds or John Cenas. He never got it
