Even though Jeff didn't win the wwe title until years later, I truly beleive that it was THIS ladder match that actually created the cult following of fans and was the catalyst to really go ALL IN on a jeff hardy singles push. 2000s release aside, I'm glad they capitalised on Jeff's momentum when he came back as no one had forgotten or lost interest in him in the slightest.

The Taker-Jeff Ladder match, was 1 day before the Taker-Angle match was filmed for the July 4th 2002 episode of Smackdown. Two classic matches, in two days, with two insanely different opponents. Taker deserved that Undisputed Title, he was the man.

An absolutely great match. And a true testament to Undertaker and his ability to work with really anyone and put them over. If I remember correctly, Undertaker won that match, but Jeff put on such a good performance and put up such a good fight against Taker that he earned Taker’s respect. Which was reflected at the end of the match.

You need to see the giddy attitude Cody used to describe his Royal Rumble Match and how Taker gave him time to shine. The Deadman is an unselfish dude and that's why in wrestling entertainment his following is what you see with Michael Jackson. ICONIC

One of the things that stands about this man is how happy he is for other people to get over. Not one ounce of ego, jealousy or spite. He wanted others to be successful with him.

I love that how scary his persona is in the ring but behind the scenes- every superstar says he's the Dopest, chilliest, and most respected within the business- I love the relationship him and Vince have - I love how everybody loves him as a person and a wrestler

He’s just a class act, all the way around. No backstage drama bullsh*t, no burying other people coming up to keep himself in the spotlight, and he was cool with pretty much anything he was asked to do, minus the spinaroonie. Taker would never do the spinaroonie, lol.

He should be proud of that match, it was incredible. I remember jumping off my couch cheering for Jeff as he climbed the ladder I mean that match really got me invested which a good match does. Just a great combination of performance and commentary.

That actually was my all time favorite match, it came out of nowhere, it made me appreciate the business more ! Undertaker will always be my favorite wrestler ! Jeff is in the top 10 ! Hell of a match, as everyone is saying Jr's commentary was spectacular ! Those 3 legend made that match !

Probably, that match was at least top 5. Ever! Smackdown matches. Very believable face turn for Taker after that too

My favourite match in the history of Raw, and one of my favourite matches ever.

This unexpected match out of nowhere is burned in my memory forever. This was a pay-per-view caliber match! And it wasn't heavily thought of until it actually happened. Then it blew everyone away even the locker room!

It may not be what Taker did best but he did it in a way that was perfect for him by just beating the hell out of Jeff, one of my favorite Taker matches

Jeff and Taker didn't face each other often but they had a crazy in ring chemistry every time they did go at it.

One of the best matches, story emotion and commentary was incredible

Mark Calaway really is the best wrestler ever. Even when he's at the very top of the mountain, he is passionate enough about the business that he is willing to put over less prestigious performers. He's so good at what he does that he can make other wrestlers shine like a diamond even when they lose to him.

this match lives rent free in my head. one of my most favourite matches of all time.

Man Jeff hardy was every child’s favorite wrestler man, he really made us the biggest fans I loved that he had his own lil unique style nothing will beat wrestling like how it was back then man.

That match was a prime of coming out stronger in defeat. If Jeff had won, which he realistically never have, it would have been a forgotten reign. Instead, they created something that is still talked about today.

I felt like that was a huge turning point for Undertaker the wrestler. It planted the seed for an evolution to his peak in-ring years.

This man was the constant workhorse. Always putting on the best entertainment for the fans, I saw him twice, and for a big man in real life, he is just great to watch. I like everything he did, even the stuff, when he wore the mask.

Great match, and they did something really smart that made it seem more likely that Jeff could win. They announced that the winner would defend against Kurt Angle on SD that week. I remember thinking that they may actually put the belt on Jeff to give him a huge moment, then have it be a really short transitional reign, and have him drop it to Kurt on SD.

Incredible match. Almost emotional because of that gawddamn J.R😂🎉🎉🎉

That match...and the end when you knew the EXACT moment, when you saw Taker hold back on further punishing Jeff, that look on Taker's face turn was the moment you knew his face turn was beginning. That match was a banger that put Jeff on the map as a potential world champion, and I'm glad to have seen it when it aired, during the school night that I should have been doing my damn homework and trying to get through 9th grade. An another note looking back now, I'm glad to finally have all 4 versions of Taker's theme music that year. lol

I only remember two Jeff Hardy singles matches. His match with RVD at Invasion. And this match with Taker.

Now that I think about it, I think that was the only ladder match I've ever seen Taker do

This is why I am such an UNDERTAKER fan. And Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. And the Hardy*s. And this was a rare moment where UNDERTAKER broke character. And was the beginning of what turned him face. A lot of people think he turned face that night. But he broke character for John Cena and Randy Orton why being a heel. But then he went back. To me he turned face the night after Vengeance in 2002. And being attacked by the Un Americans really turned him face. And he gave one of the best face promos on the August 19, 2002 episode of Raw.

Hardy was awesome that day. Pretty sure he behave before it. He problaby didn't want to disappoint a guy like Taker in a match that Taker needed Hardy to kinda lead the way. Great match, also.

Quite honestly might be on my top 10 Monday night raw moments that ladder match and perhaps not to have a favorite type the edge Ric Flair ladder match was really really good

Hardy was the master of ladders and young stud and Taker was the newbie of ladders and star of the company. It was a perfect complimentary to both character. Kuddos to the one who set this match.

Jeff Hardy is one of my favorites back then. I was really too bad that he let his demons destroy the push that WWE and Taker gave him in that match.
