Understanding Saab OpenSID Part 1: Basics - Trionic Seven

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's finally here! The Trionic Seven guide to understanding the parameters you find in OpenSID. This video will help you get intimate with one of the best features found in T7 Saab cars, OpenSID.
OpenSID can be used for reading OBD2 fault codes, look for vacuum leaks, boost problems, engine temperature, intercooler performance and much more. It's a great tool when tuning your Saab as it gives you very detailed information about your car and engine. It's almost as good as a scan tool like the tech2 :)
There are a lot of parameters or values in OpenSID. In this video I talk about Lamb (Lambda), Amul, mAir, mReq and nErr and LIMP.
Guide to enabling OpenSID: • Saab Tuning: Enabling ...
Swedish: I denna guide visar jag hur man kan använda OpenSID i sin Saab för att förstå motorns interna beteende. Ett mycket användbart verktyg!

    Hi! Awesome channel! I just got my hands on a 1999 9-3 Viggen (and yes it's a real one with T7). Is the contacts and pins the same? I've had trouble connecting to my I-Bus and don't really want to rip apart everything to install the P-Bus before knowing that the pins are the same as in the 9-5. Kör försiktigt. /h

    Well done Jonathan. A really anticipated video. I have open SID in my 2006 9-5 aero and it is very informative as well as addictive. Please make sure that you explain all the parameters and their values. There are available info on the parameters online but their values and their respective normal boundaries are not explained well. Also, are you aware if there is a performance parameter available to measure accelaration etc. Something similar to the eSID available for the 2007+ 9-3 ss models. Thank you and keep up the good work.

  • @TrionicSeven

    @TrionicSeven

    Hey, thanks! Please tell me more about the accel feature in eSid. I've never used it so I don't know what it does. Is it the same thing as the 0-60 and 0-100 times you can find in the obd2 apps? Oh, and I won't be able to explan *all* the values, there are hundreds of them :) I will focus on the important ones and give estimates of range and so on. Problem it, too many details and it will turn into a lecture about engine internals and modern electronic engine management systems!

  • @sbske1

    @sbske1

    Trionic Seven , Yes it is similar to the accelaration features in obdii apps. I am asking if it is possible because esid takes the data from the ecu and shows them on the 9-3 sid. As for the parameters i know there are many and it is hard to describe them all, just do your best as always. Thanks. :):)

    Thank you for informing. 2 more questions.1: Does the fact that i got 10 in Limp value and -614 in AMUL have a connection? My buddy has +1000 in amul now, but no Limp. 2: WIll exesive + and - values be caused by different things since it compensates in 2 different directions?

    if when you floor it your mair is 1100, if you divide that by 3.1 it gives you your torque and that comes to 354nm. so if you divide mair by 3.1 you will get your torque in newton meters
