I know this video on hair porosity is extensive, and I hope sincerely that you don't feel overloaded or overwhelmed with information. I covered details for low porosity, medium or normal porosity, and high porosity, as well as what products help, what can alter your porosity, and the differences between natural porosity, mechanically induced porosity, and chemically induced porosity changes. As I stated in the beginning of the video, there was a lot to unpack!
If you find this video to be helpful, please share it with a friend or family member you think would benefit from this information. Understanding and catering to the needs of your porosity impacts the hair in a positive way, allowing you to see hair growth, as well as length retention.
Until next time, have an amazing day, take care, God bless, and stay glam!

Grey has a tendency to be coarse or wiry, its part of it's composition. White hair tends to be much more delicate though. A hair steamer is an excellent way to get more moisture in, make sure that when styling you opt for low heat or no heat options, so you don't scorch the hair or cause it to yellow. Violet shampoos can help with removing mild yellowing, but not extreme cases.

The demo with the blinds to describe the cuticle layer and the differences between low, medium, and high porosity was brilliant! And the use of body heat for high porosity hair when deep conditioning just saved me from buying a steam cap! It never occurred to me that since the cuticle scales (those are the things that open and close on the cuticle) are already open I don't need to blast it with outside heat, either wet or dry, to get moisture into the shaft. Also the explanation on using apple cider vinegar mixed with water gave me an "a ha" moment: now I know why my hair (high) feels so soft and smooth when rinsing with that concoction. I knew I loved your channel for a reason! I learn so much from watching.

My hair is naturally higher-porosity, but after all my chemical abuse... I think a sidewalk in July holds water longer. Friends oft' think I've coloured my hair when they see it wet, because it's about three shades darker than normal. But I'm learning how to seal in the moisture better, all thanks to you. You are such an amazing teacher. Your actual students are so lucky to have you.

Yes, yes, yes! I needed this so much. After sick from covid, and dealing with low energy. I neglected my natural hair. My hair had grown over the years because I had a hair journey that paid off with bra strap length hair. But I neglected it for 3 weeks and the damage was extensive. The knots, and tangled hair was overwhelming. Your tips have given me hope to repair and restore the damage done. I actually was considering a Big Chop! Yet it took 3.5 years to grow my hair to this length. Thanks from 4C spiral! Keep up your educational videos 🥰

Hi Elizabeth. I had a serious scalp issue and was using all kinds of medicated shampoos and scalp treatments. I had scabs around the hairline, especially at the front. I eventually moved from the area I was living and could no longer go to my usual, salon so I had to change salon. The first thing I noticed at this new salon was that these ladies never put their fingers into their products, they sanitized a lot...comb dropped on the floor and it was sanitized. Client leaves the chair its sanitized. Well 2 months after going there I had the most healthy scalp to this day...13 years later. I tell this story to everyone with scalp issues. Look into your environment to see if there is anything you can change.....unless its internal.

Thank you so much! That was a great video. I've heard of porosity and how to treat it but never really understood what it was. I was still lost until you went to the shades. Great analogy! I finally also found someone to explain the other grading system. I'm a 3C, High porosity white girl. Most hairdressers I've ever dealt with had no idea how to treat my hair. All my life I've hated my hair. It's been just in the last few years I'm learning how to take care of it and love my curls. It only took 50 years. I subscribed. Looking forward to the rest of your videos and downloads. 🥰

Hello, beautiful people! I am writing this comment a year after I watched this life-changing and eye-opening video, which literally changed my har (and life tbh). For years (I'm now 30) I have struggled with my hair journey, trying almost everything to make it grow strong, and nothing seemed to help. Until this video. I started hydrating my hair on a daily basis (just the lengths) with the LOC method and everybody says the results are amazing. No more dull, thin, frizzy, dry and depleted of life hair! I'm so so so happy that I came across this video! Thank you, GlamFam Hair & Beauty!

This video was E X T R E M E L Y helpful and I'm about to download the guide NOW! I have been watching video after video on how to get my daughter's hair to retain moisture. I've spent so much money trying product after product, and you explained her hair to perfection (moisture today, dry tomorrow, the tangling, ect.) and now I know I've been a horrible natural hair mother 😆. Everything you said NOT to do to high porosity hair I've done to hers because I didn't know!😧 Hopefully now with this information I can help sis out, because she love love loves her curls, but I haven't let her wear them because I've been torturing to poor things 🤦🏽‍♀️ Thank you so much, and thank you from my daughter and her curls too. This video saved the life of many curls today. 😄❤
