So GlamFam, I recently did a story post asking people to tell me what their number one hair issue was and sooooo many people said that they were struggling with hair breakage or dry and brittle hair. Many stated that they were having a hard time getting their hair to grow, so I felt as though this video was necessary. A lot of people don't realize that simple changes in your haircare routine can result in a massive positive impact on the hair. I'm here to share some not so secret haircare tips to teach you how to stop breakage and grow longer hair. I hope this video proves to be helpful to you!
You know I love ya boo!

This video, just 12 minutes in, has given me more knowledge than most If not all the hair advice I've seen on yt. I can't count how many people make it soo complicated. Trying to sound knowledgeable but not really teaching basics of hair care.I really get it when you teach. I would've loved you in hair school. My own hair could've been so much further along by now.

Linwood, I have one side in the back that is much shorter, tighter, and fragile than the other. It sucks when I go to have a trim because the stylists always cut it all to match that section and so I don’t get a bunch of length retention. It’s cool to see that I’m not alone with the lip sided curl looseness. Great video!!

Wasted this video again, learned/internalized a couple of important things I'd not learned/heard the first time. To check moisture run fingers down shaft from root to end. This seems so obvious once I actually heard it and realized I was checking my ends and feeling frustrated that my hair always seemed too dry. Holy Jesus, I can love my hair now a little bit better now that I realize what I was doing wrong. .😊

Giovanni shampoo and Conditioners can also be purchased at TJ Maxx or Marshalls too. Their regular line is great too. The 50/50 and Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoos are awesome at cleansing without stripping the hair. I also love Olaplex No 3 and Komaza Care Protein Strengthener. My fave deep conditioners are from Eden Bodyworks and Naturelle Grow used under the dryer. 😭😭😭 I can't wait till things reopen in NYC because I am long overdue for my seasonal trim due to the pandemic. I love watching videos from KNOWLEDGEABLE creators like yourself, manes by mell, and curly Chelle! You're all hairstylists, so that explains a lot! I'm SO tired of people demonizing cones! For me, personally, I love the heat protection from a bit of silicone in a leave in as well as the ease of detangling. I don't go overboard & I make sure my hair is properly hydrated first, & I'm good to go! If I use butter heavy products, or God forbid WAXES, that stuff sticks to my hair like cement & it's no bueno. But one or 2 products each way day containing one or 2 lightweight silicones? No sweat. Readily washes off, & I don't personally need a harsh sulfate to clarify either. C14 olefin sulfonate works just fine as a clarifier, especially with ingredients like citric acid &/or trisodium diethylene succinate to help remove mineral deposits. It's all about what works for YOU!

After 3 months of studying myself about hair, this guys told the MAIN ideas in this video! Absolute AMAZING KNOWLEDGE! All stylists should know it, and care for clients hair. Not to damage it and sell you extentions after. Magority of stylists don't know their job. Please right it down each step he said. It is seems easy, but no one will tell you that. It will help you to grow your hair with maximum volume till waist line. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Respect for your deep knowledge and share!

Hey Linwood! Of course I have already heard you instruct us on most of these tips- but it never hurts to hear them again! Especially since I have high porosity sandy brown hair. And let me tell you....that Giovanni 2 Chic...baby that stuff is everythang!!! Now if I could just get my moisture balance on point.... I'll be good to go! Thanks for all the great hair tips💞💞!!!

Melisia Bowman my absolute pleasure dear! Moisture balance is an uphill fight with high porosity. Do you use anything as a sealant on your hair?

@@GetGlamFam yes.....I use castor or jojoba oil via the LCO method. It looks great when wet. However, after it dries and I take down my twists or plaits- it looks good for about 30 to 60 minutes. Then it looks like all the moisture is sucked out and the cute style turns into a frizzy fro. I've just learned to do styles that don't require me to wear it out.

I love your videos. My hair is mostly 4A and I just turned 50. I’ve noticed my hair is extremely dry now. I’m about 25% grey. I also live in the desert. I say all this to ask: would you do some videos on moisture retention for us, ahem, seasoned viewers. Thank you in advance!

❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you i’m loving all the tips very helpful for my hair that was splitting only in the front and the back was long to the point it was looks like a mullet yikes ! I watched you video about split ends and started trimming and cut a lot off in the front yes it looked worse and was a more obvious mullet but after two months I noticed wow it’s finally growing and retaining the length so I trim little by little the back is long but we are in lock down I plan to get it cut in layers next year when like is different .

Thank you so much for the alcohol info. I went from locs to natural hair and I was shocked at how much alcohol was listed in supposedly moisturizing products. Some product have it listed 3 to 4x.
