Hair can grow doing wash and go’s, but be careful not to over manipulate the hair. A lot of people benefit from weaves because the hair isn’t being messed with so it’s harder for it to break from over manipulating or roughly handling the hair. A lot of times when I do wash and go’s I will pineapple my hair so I don’t have to wet it daily, but I do tend to lightly mist with water around the outer edges to keep them more fresh looking, if need be.

But, now I know differently because of your kindness and willingness to share your vast knowledge which has helped me tremendously. I don't feel so lost anymore... That 2nd little girl is GORGEOUS! She popped out of nowhere with that smile. Also, I'm here because I have hair more like his and my daughter has more porous hair and I was not prepared for her hair type. I have mixed race family and hair is more curly, and fine but always very manageable (no relaxers, wet and go type hair). My daughter's hair started off like mine and then flipped to the porous hair. It's been an uphill battle ever since and I'm just trying to figure it out so that her hair can be all that I know it can be. So thank you for doing these videos.

Hello #GlamFam cousins (yes, I’ve claimed y’all as family, lol). Thank you for the side-by-side 6-day results. I’m high porosity, as well as high density too. Her hair looks like mine after about 3 days though. Thanks again 🙂

My joy! If you lose moisture like that, definitely go for styling creams and sealing oils. It helps the moisture stay a bit longer. Adding a small amount of apple cider vinegar in with your conditioner can help out as well. It helps lower the cuticle layer more so moisture stays in a bit better.

Medium porosity low density hair looks fuller by the day. High porosity fairies sneaks into the night and takes the moisture and curls. Great post Linwood.

Hi Linwood , its always a learning pleasure when you come on :-) Please i have a question about layering products on high porosity type 4 hair on wash day......Please where do you think a moisturizing gel (flax or otherwise) will fit in, in the layering process ?

No one in my house has LP hair, but to deep condition it, I would use a hair steamer. The styling foam would work well, but the cream leave in would have been too thick. And it would still be holding onto moisture even after my normal porosity lost all of its moisture.

I've watched a lot of your videos. This was INCREDIBLY HELPFUL. Thank you. I have fine dry as heck 4c hair that I THOUGHT was low porosity because it's "virgin hair" (no relaxer and it passed the phony floating hair test). But it's dry every 10 seconds. It's driving me crazy. I'm starting to think I need to slather on leave-in like it's relaxer, that my trying to cheap out on the quantity I'm using is making me rub/smooth my hair with my hands way too much = breakage. Maybe one day you'll do a fine afro hair comparison video like this one?
