Understanding Hip Extension: Anatomy, Muscles, and Range of Motion

In this video, we explore the fascinating mechanics of hip extension, an essential movement in activities like walking, running, and jumping. Discover the anatomy of the hip joint and the primary muscles involved in hip extension, including the gluteus maximus, hamstrings (biceps femoris, semitendinosus, and semimembranosus), and adductor magnus. Learn how factors like knee position affect the range of motion and understand the difference between active and passive extension. Whether you're an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or simply curious about human movement, this video will provide valuable insights into how your body works.

To clarify , the gluteus Maximus is the strongest muscle in the body by its gross output of force , but if you also wanted to know the strongest muscle compared to its weight that would be the masseter. These are the best animation anatomy videos I have seen.

Thank you very much to you and your team for the wonderful animation and content. I would have valued such learning material as a medical student. It is also useful material for those of us interested in injury prevention and sports exercise and physiology.

Excellent video. Great visuals. Good work! I've been teaching anatomy for exercise/ pilates/ personal trainers for years and wish I'd had these graphics. I do however use materials like this now to explain movement and stability to my own clients. Excellent 👌
