    Lizaveta's murder is proof that-- despite Raskolnikov's careful planning-- he never had control. He was never the SUPERMAN, he wanted to be. Also, Lizaveta was pregnant ("she was always with child"). Depending how you view fetuses, the murder included a 3rd, innocent potential being.

    The notion of matricide is foreign. Highlighting cultural diversity in interpreting familial relationships
