My first go round I picked up Red Label Abrasives starter pack for knife makers. Over time settled on pretty much same stack as you but also use my conditioning belts from them on most projects.

Hi, I stumbled upon your channel recently and wanted to encourage you! I discover your videos and tips slowly and have to say they’re great. Straightforward, relaxed, always interesting and confirming what I’m learning myself since I started knife making last summer. I hope to get a 2x72 this year with variable speed and you confirmed this choice as I make my handle material on my own. Keep on doing, your vid’s are great. Happy New Year!

@@gentrycustomknives8008 It's refreshing to find another knife maker that stays stoked about stock removal. I stumbled on your KZread looking for reviews on the OMB Dominator and I'm glad I did. I don't forge because the wife is afraid of fire in the garage (or in the driveway). She doesn't want me to burn down the house. I don't think the neighbors would be too pleased about all of the hammer noise. I live in one of those neighborhoods where the next door neighbors are just across the street and there is only 20' between houses. I also live in Florida and have no air conditioner in the garage. Though I hope to change that. You on the other hand probably don't reach 85 degrees in the middle of the summer. I'm originally from Kalamazoo, MI. Parting words Matt, You have the privileged of "Doing what you love and loving what you do." You are in the upper 1% of all people. When you're feeling down, feel like kicking the dog, feel stressed to the hilt, take a deep breath, go outside, look at Gods beautiful works and be thankful that you are one of the lucky few who gets to do exactly what God called them to do with all of the creative bones in you body. I don't know why I said all of that but it felt right. Bryan
