Understand a Nutrition Label

Do you find it impossible to understand a food label? Were you told you need to go on a diet and you are having a really difficult time because you do not understand what you are consuming? If this is the case, watch this video because I am going to explain in detail a food label, how to read it, calculate it, and how to use it!
A food label is split into three sections. The first is the serving size. No….unfortunately, there is just not one serving per container. Sometimes there is 1, or 4, or 30. So knowing how many servings are in the container is very important. If there is more than one, you have to adjust everything else in the food label depending on how many servings you want to eat. Now remember when you couldn’t figure out why math class was important….here’s why. You will need to do some basic math assuming there is more than 1 serving in the container and you want to eat more than one serving.
The second section is calories, and this is the section that people are typically most familiar with. But remember to adjust the calorie amount based on how many servings you are consuming. And depending on your diet plan, you will need to keep track of your calorie intake throughout the day. So make sure you are looking at this section,
The third section is Nutrients. Here, you learn about how many nutrients you get per serving, but also what percentage that is of the daily value that is recommended to consume. Some nutrients you want to be high and some you want to be low. The video goes into detail about all of this!
Additionally, the video gives real world examples of food labels, how to read them, calculate the calories and nutrients based on serving size, and how all of this could fit into your daily eating methods.
I also discuss how the GI tract and your GI organs are affected by these high calorie, sodium, added sugars, and fats.
