Maaaan, I learned this decades ago....your enclosure is THE MOST important part of your bass. I've literally tried the same subs in 6 different enclosures (bored one sunday) and difference is staggering 😮

I just found this channel and it’s immediately one of my favorites. Even though I’m not learning anything new the boxes are impressive and I enjoy the videos like this one. Maybe something to consider in a situation like this might be passive radiators? (primarily to keep the customer happy and avoid having to educate them if they don’t want to hear it). You’d get the cone area/number/increased level they want without sacrificing anything (other than messing with motorless cones).

I have 2 Rockville K9 12s sealed under my seat of my 2003 Silverado king cab, with a 2.5 seat lift. I'm pushing them with a audiopipe 1500. Too bad you don't have the airspace. Those would SLAM in a 5.5cube enclosure. It's the only thing I hate about pickup. No room 😒

Great video bro and you right user error is why things fail and i been running a single skar svr 15 in a custom made slot ported enclosure and it sounds damn good and no issue since i purchased the sub about 2 years ago plays well but people will run the wrong stuff and blame the manufacturer but if they took the time to get things done right they would cut down the majority of the issues they claim

and wy i know this to be true? i just killed 4amps from a pinched power wire my amp rack leg was siting on my power wire i had no idea and if i had a truck i would have to do a blow thru system i cant do nothing with small subs

Wish I would’ve seen this a couple days ago . I just ordered 2 more zvx8’s for a total of 4 in my 08 Chevy Silverado 2500 crew cab with a 2 and a half inch seat lift . I had 2) Skar svr8’s and they sounded great but I needed more subs to keep up with the ds18 6.5

I have 4 in a 08 extended cab with a 2.5 in seat lift. Sometimes you have to experiment. Needless to say, they sound great and they get low. I also used a combination of fiberglass and mdf to milk every square in of airspace that I possibly could. I went with a 6 inch aero port but I can't for the life of me remember the length.

@@florzellpaschal4405 so I built a box myself 3/4 birch . Seat lift and built the box 55 inches long x 11 inches tall x 16 inches deep. Tuned to 36hz ran at 1 ohm on the rp4500.1 and holy moly. I’m so impressed with the sound that I can produce from a pick up truck. They hammer . And I have 4) ds18 pro 6.5 on the rp1000.4 .

Too many people get an idea in their head that they're going to have four 10s or 12s or whatever... when they barely even have the space for a pair.then they act surprised when a single 8 inch sub in the proper ported box is louder ,AND Lower than a 10 or 12 in a crappy box.

Skar has the 2 8" sub box for the chevrolet 2019 and up but it's the double cab. You thing the zvx will sound good in that? I have a crew cab but for some dumb reason they don't make that box for crew cab. It's an extra 3 inches of length of you compare the 4 speaker boxes.

He can put four but sealed. Just not ported. Maybe they don’t want ported just because you don’t like them give them seal or sound quality sound. Just like music leaving the studio. Flat response. Us audio engineers boost on low and high end before a song leaves the mixing rem. Most people what tater have a studio monitors with a sub type sound in their car versus just SPL or SQL.. I think it should be one or the other SQ or SPL SQL gives up qualities one way or another.

What do you recommend for a box under seat but I just want to take of the 60% under my seat

I have an f-150 and been watching your videos. I need to order a seat lift kit and need a box built correctly for it. I'm in Chicago tho, I wish you were closer....id buy a box in a heart beat and happily wait in a list for it.

I highly recommend you just leave that truck alone. I'm saving you a lot of heart ache and money. But, I'm sure that's not what you're gonna do. So you will find someone to take your money and give you some bullshit.

@@2ndshiftaudio300 I've been installing my own sounds since my first clarion pull out head unit. 🤣 I've been out of the game for about 7 years but I think I'll be just fine. The truck already has an aftermarket head unit in it if that's your concerns. Unless you're talking about air space?

I made the mistake and put 4 in my 2021 f150 before I saw this video with the zvx 8s mine don’t catch low bass for anything so I made up my mind to reach out to this guy I am in the Atlanta area

Now it’s nothing wrong with my box it’s tuned to my vehicle and to the proper specs of the woofers they hold at 200 rms continuous power per woofer , would you run at least 1000 watt mono block amp on those or better?

What about 4 evl 8" in skars sub box?

Had a guy get up with me that bought 4 deaf bonce 8's and wanted to do them ported under his sear. They call for .8 per plus port. I told him it isn't gonna happen...

You're wrong sir. The zvxv2 8" skar audio recommends 1.25 ported. But only . 65 sealed. So 4 skar audio zvxv2 8" subs will fit under the back seat of a pickup truck just fine.

I was not aware that that's what your channel was only about. Not trying to troll or be an asshole. But if you had mentioned when you said that the zvx needed 1.25 maybe mention ported. Cuz I'm actually looking at replacing my two Skar SVR-12's with four 8's. So Ive been really studying all the specs on several subs. Trying to get the most bang for my buck ya know. But I keep hanging on Skar. My SVR's get played hard everyday and so do my son's SVR-10's. He actually has one that the wire braid from the voicecoil came loose at the voice coil about 4 or 5 months after I bought them. And Skar dint hesitate to replace for free immediately. So customer service has me stuck on Skar as well. And Ive heard 4 evl 8's but not 4 zvx 8's.

Kinda wondering what the difference is between the zvx 8 and the evl 8 both have an xmax of 14mm one way. But the evl says it can handle 100 watts more. But the zvx cost more. So which will hit harder and why.

I got a 86 lincoln town car & I'd like some options. I want to maximize trunk space, so I want to utilize the shelf under the rear deck. Question is 2-8s or 2-6.5s. And No I don't know the measurements (yet) I am prepared to remove the 6×9s

I debating on selling my 2 meso 8s and picking up some sundown U8s for under my 2016 Silverado seat. I do have the lmi lift, but I’m wondering if I should do 2 or 4, not sure which will sound better? Even considered 2 U10s if they’ll fit?

I personally wouldn't run anything skar, but people are doing good things with them. Looking back over the years how many companies were dogged because of user error...alot.

Gotta be user error. I got a pair of iX 8s in a custom kerf ported box and they HAMMER...not just for cheap subs, they actually play flat to 30 HZ, with a lil peak about 33hz.

The new ct strato 10s work very well in .75! I did a build with 2 under the seat of a silverado 1.5net 38hz and it still digs low!

Gotta do the internal mesuments and see manufacturers recommendations and sealed works great with smaller enclosures! I run 2 12s in small enclosures and I like it!

@@oldguyBMX I am running the skar evl 6.5, they want a . 25 sealed enclosure. I built the box at . 33 but I am not sure how much room the subwoofer takes up. I was asking mbe if he knows how a subwoofer will act if they have too much air space or not enough...

I've heard your box with 4-8's under the seat of a truck. It had db drive. Which you also sold the customer in Dallas Texas. And it was just like any other under the seat box. Just when it started to sound deceit. It was out of gas so to speak. Fact is under the seat boxes are just worthless. Even yours. You can make 1-10 SOUND much better than any 8. But, that's the max. Now I'm not talking about loud. I'm talking about a better sound.
