I have 2 older girls and 3 younger boys. What I wouldn’t give to be able to do this with my boys! We have NOTHING like this in the States. Just old rusty run down “buildings” from the Cold War era.

That was awesome! But from a safety perspective, you may want to invest in a gas meter to be sure the pits and bunkers you go into don’t have harmful gases. My crew has a few of them and they detect several different harmful gases. Just want you and your boy to stay safe.

Agree you should have a gas meter with (both of you), I have seen video's where they have had close calls if it wasn't for a gas meter.

I'm not telling you what to do, but it is good practice to test air quality before going down into confined spaces.. Every time. Death can happen quickly and without warning.

I am new to the whole investigation end but I hate to say it was not gas. I have been a firefighter for too long and that was not from a poisonous gas. I hate to say it but that was paranormal workings at its finest. Those are the SAME symptoms that happen to many people when “spirits” do not want there space invaded. I have the equipment and willing to take the flight to do a proper inspection of this bunker. No lie I felt a odd vibe the second you showed the steps. Then when that happened I couldn’t believe it!

This may have been a WWII bunker, but looks like it was utilized as recently up to the 80s or-early 90s There looked to be some modern electrical additions, the blue electrical boxes at 4:33. The filters had radioactive symbols on them, doubt the Germans were worried about nuclear in WWII. Some doors were wood and had relatively modern looking door knobs. Looks to have been used during the cold war era.

Very cool. Odd mix of modern and old equipment. It’s possible it was used as a fallout shelter until recently. That blue equipment in the power room looks very recent. To bad you didn’t get a manufactured date from them. The original equipment doesn’t seem to be in use. More evidence that the blue stuff is very modern as it so much smaller. The appliances don’t look like 1940s era. Most things are clean and rust free, like they were being taken care of and the humidity was being kept down. Hard to do underground in that climate. I expected to see signs of flooding. There maybe a pump still with power to keep it dry. What else, plastic bodied typewriter, modern track lighting in the control room, I thought I saw some beige plastic switches on the walls. Some of the phone equipment looked new. You may have been suffering a lack of oxygen, carbon monoxide or natural gas poisoning. You should explore with an air pack.

The fact that some of the signs are in English tells me this was a post war NATO bunker.

It appears that a group of people is making sure that this place is well preserved. It looked very much alive. No wonder you had a panic attack: I was expecting at any time a voice saying "what the hell you're doing here?" That was so weird, keys in the right place, opened door, lights still on... creepy, but also fascinating. Great find!!

Those coffee makers and some of that electrical is late 80s or early 1990s vintage. Having an air pump running means there is more to that bunker than just the bunker. I have heard of 2 Austrian and a few Alaskan bunkers that run a few miles in length as well multiple levels. I can definitely tell ppl Wright Patterson runs more than 5-6 levels deep. There is bunker here locally the coal companies used it has a natural river running right thru the bunker. The coal company circa 1948 or so cut right thru the bunker by accident. I guess when people don't know things are there sheet can happen. There was a local road collapse several years ago whereas it took several months to solve the problem by building a bridge of sorts for restoring the road surface to normal. Local folks got in after work hours after road crews talked about finding tunnels and the bunker others went down took pictures.

@@WW2HistoryHunter 11:30 sounds like radiation sickness bro get checked. You might have been exposed to high levels of radioactive material maybe dust or whatever... NOT good. So here is the reason why it was probably left to rott away. Everything has a reason.

The dizziness, nausea, and feeling uncomfortable could be explained by bad air, like others have mentioned, but they could also be explained by high emf, electric-magnetic fields. They directly affect the electric impulses in your body, upsetting things. Emf detectors are usually not too expensive and can help determine if an environment is safe.

I suspect there was more bunker to that little bunker just by thee size of that dual air pump system perhaps there was another area of sorts. Being the place was powered up there is more to it that what is seen.

@@George-hs2zm Nuclear filters which R common. In alotta countries the filters R sealed but idiots open em... In the case of that bunker it appears there some other part network still in operations so those filters may be used or opened new.. The reasons those pumps R running and that place is still energized is there more than meets the surface as the Cliche goes... In America most military filters have dates on em... he should have looked at the date codes but then again if there is something else in operation possibly illegal they may leave old filters there on purpose. Many European bunkers are still powered up they know what the world and America can deliver at moments notice... With those HUGE fans running those fans are not for that surface bunker that is why U see those sealed off vent pipes like where he goes down inside that is a vent pipe and it went up in that challace stairs meaning shallow stairs as well as several of those 5 inch steel pipes have been capped off inside where he was at despite his lack of air that could be why. Those huge pumps could be pulling air from 4-5-6 miles away. Unlike mines only have a few vents and air shafts bunkers have more than one air supply route. Make a note of it... People that build their own bunkers at home notice that stuff immediately. Air needs to be drawn in and out.

Al the cabinet doors are open and the ventilation is running which means they’re trying to keep the moisture out, but the filter is probably full of mold depending when it was changed last so you might have gotten sick from bad air. The military are probably keeping it in a state where they could set up in there in an emergency

I think the reason you felt sick was the old paint finishes and lubrication oils “gassing off”. As these older single stage (un-catalyzed air dry) finishes deteriorate, they create seriously noxious chemical laden air in enclosed spaces. I think the reason you were able to enter that bunker is because someone was following a venting procedure (usually 24hrs with 100x cfm over volume). Modern bunkers use multistage epoxy or urethane finishes to avoid this toxicity problem and off-gassing of chemicals in enclosed spaces.

Avery thing is intact like was fited the day before, I believe this is Ar fake things,I never see things so clean ,no rusty, is not clean but is not dert to as some thing is setting there for over 90 years.

Yeah definitely cold war. The colors remind me of the 50's-60's Era also. The ww2 German bunkers that I've seen tend to have eagles and German directions spray painted with stencils near each doorway also. I noticed there was some English writing there in places also. This hints to after ww2 and maybe we had USA staff mixed with the Germans there?

Getting a multi gas detector /alerter device would definitely be a good idea for such areas. My guess is low oxygen here.

@@WW2HistoryHunter actually need an air monitor that measures O2 not just CO2. Oxygen content is critical. there can be low O2/Oxygen levels due to gasses like radon or possibly ozone displacing the O2 not just CO2. Also radon gas is very harmful. Charcoal filters on a respirator will remove some harmful elements but the only remedy for low O2 levels is an O2 bottle.... or lots of fresh air movement and ventilation. Also inhaling mold spores can affect some people very badly with near immediate effects. Keep in mind how fast allergens in the air can affect a person. You should always use an N95 mask at the very least and have an O2 meter.Hopefully this place was not used as a clandestine Meth lab because the leftover chemicals will make you sick also.

Wow that is by far the best preserved place I have ever seen. Stunning find!

Unfortunately in Canada there isn't much to see here for history of the war or in general! The wests motto is crush and make it new and better no preservation here. This complex was probably used by the allies back during the cold war just like the tunnels in pirmasens were I've spent some time during war games. Pretty cool.

Excellent video even with the post WW2 upgrades it’s an absolute treasure to find, hope locals don’t go and destroy it. I used to explorer the destroyed Siegfried Line bunkers near Zweibrücken hoping to find something in the 80s, but this is a jackpot of coolness find.

I would have to agree with others that there was a concentration of some sort of gas in that bunker. I've had experience with that sort of thing myself. Definitely a strange situation. I appreciate you and your traveling to these locations and sharing the adventures with us. I'm glad there were no lasting effects from the bunker. I'd hate to think that you or your were ever in danger. God bless you both.

Sorry I have to correct myself regarding the rust it does not emit co2 it just depletes oxygen, it's electronics, as they decompose/ deteriorate they emit H2S or hydrogen sulfide Wich is toxic corrosive and combustible. I also wanted to mention a cpl of meters to look at and read about be Shure When looking at personal protection meters to get you one that detects (H2S - hydrogen sulfide) (O2 - oxygen, or the lack of ) ( CO2 - csrbondioxide ) (EX - explosive gas) They have good ones that detect all 4 gasses for under a hundred bucks Bosean and Coreel are two good brand meters with reasonable prices . Fnirsi brand PPG Geiger counter is a good meter for under sixty dollars and it detects beta gama and x-ray along with base radiation. I just wanted to mention these meters an correct my incorrect information on the rust.

This was an amazing find. With everything still working and many original items there, it was like a look back in time! Keep up the amazing videos.

Reminds me of an bunker from the war converted into a Nato bunker. I visited one near Basel. Huge and unused - but could be used again quickly in a hurry. Still had a generator, lighting, a lift, etc.

This was used into the 70s or early 80s from the look of some of the stuff. It's a command center, likely focused on shipping lanes and/or lanes of attack. There is some fairly modern communications interfaces on the wall there, but it's interesting that they seem to have used the German terminal blocks for their phone circuits. The typewriter is 1970s vintage. Two of the 4 filters have radiological stickers on them, but the other two appear to be original-original. The set-up of the whole thing points to keeping a survivable command center should WWIII had started. Not unknown for NATO to reuse German structures like this for secure locations. The power is probably on because some of the circuits are still in use and just pass through there. The way you went in is likely for technical folks to service the active lines and such....but someone left the cover off for all our benefit! Or, could be a really crappy Air B&B lol. Amazing to see some of the original German systems still in use.

This is amazing. A few months ago I met a German fella who was a kid in Germany during the war. He told me a story about a kid in his school. When the British flew over, they would go down into the basement . In school, this kid said to the teacher. " When we go into the basement, Daddy talks to the stove and the stove talks back " . You can guess what happened. He was arrested. Interesting times. So glad we are friends now. Take care from Australia.

Yeah, on the way back from the safe you walked past 2 plastic drip coffee makers. This started life as a ww2 bunker, but it's still alive and may be someone starting a sweet bomb/ bug out shelter. Proceed with caution, they might like to keep the location secret. If the air system is still running, they are drying it out. It appears the typewriter went into production about 1960's so yeah its been active after the war.

Sounds like you were just so overwhelmed with what you saw that anxiety took over. You couldn't believe what you had found. You like so much what you do & we can always hear it in you voice with every exploration but this one was out of this world. It kinda looks like Cold War stuff, too new to be WW2 but I could be wrong.

The coffee maker was from seventies and english teksts pointing NATO owner. Pump was German product. The map was local area and color codes was some alarm levels?

The fact that there was so much written in English... Definitely not straight out of WW2 Germany, although there was lots of hardware from that era still there!

What a find of this bunker , ventilation system ! Incredible how many rooms and how far it goes ! Should carry a air meter reading any time going in any kind of hole like they do in the mines , the place is unbelievable ! Thanks for sharing, stay safe !!!

Someone is still upkeeping that bunker. It’s so awesome seeing all the original equipment still intact and unmolested. Probably a museum of some sort. Very rare as the allied usually dismantled the equipment.

I enjoy your travels around Europe to see first hand the unbelievable amount of construction that had been done in such a short period. I'd like to see what you would think of going to smaller towns that were fairly untouched by the war and getting permission from some of the older residents that have lived through the war. Would imagine the amount of relics in attics and outbuildings would be staggering. Not to mention the possibly new places to go to.Just for looking at and getting their personal experiences would be very educational. Those that survived obviously had very rough lives for long after the war.

this is creepy, in the fact you could have turned a corner and been in a room manufacturing goodness knows what... and the protection needed. The enterance looked a more modern water pipe, and a lot of work needed to keep it all going. Nice work, love it, cheers from New Zealand!

Absolutely incredible!! Obviously, there has been a lot of post-war activity there, but to see some of the original fixtures is amazing. I did get a weird vibe about the bunker, while watching the video, I think it was because there was power on in there. As somebody else has commented, I think you should invest in some gas detectors to make sure that it's safe to go into these underground installations. Thank you and EE for such an amazing explore 👍

Man,you really had the ball of steel to jumped into that bunker by yourself😮 I think you might had been encountered with residual "different level of frequency or energy" down there. I saw a dead mouse, that's not a good sign.the bunker might having lack of oxygen or polluted by poisonous gas. Stay safe and, Much appreciate for this!

That bunker was on the more mysterious side. I was white knuckled, waiting for the big reveal. Happy you made it out okay. I often wonder if the air in these bunkers, is old and stale. Although the fan was still running, you didn’t mention if you felt, any air flowing around you. It’s a good thing EE was topside.

@@NEKOYASHX I don’t think it was powered by a gas or diesel generator. This was a post WW2, refurbished bunker. The electrical power is connected to the electrical grid. IMHO

The things you come across on your explorations!! Amazing! I wonder if there was sewer gas in an area of the bunker you traveled through and you were exposed? This bad air would have made you feel ill and might have caused an unsettling feeling. Quite an interesting place with a lot of gear in it that could be brought back into use if need be but it needs to be ventilated! Another great video HH! Stay safe and stay well!!

That could very well have been the case Donald. I really dont know why i was so sick first and then could not force myself to speak and then i could go down again and record it all. Very unusual if you ask me. Loved to have that experience. Thank for being here my friend.

Thank you for returning to the bunker to record this video. As other commentators have said, it must have been the stale air, fumes, gas, etc, which made you light-headed and nauseous. It's certainly a very odd place and I imagine that it's a disused NATO bunker - ,the phonetic alphabet (Alpha, Bravo, etc), list, maps and diagrammes on the walls would suggest a NATO exercise with the Royal Danish Navy. But I wonder who's paying for the electricity bill...What will you and EE find next?

What an awesome find. Hmm might have to look more into the history of the area. Would chalk it up to like that heavy feeling you get when you visit Dachau. Looking at those gauges they show no input. Hmmm might need to send the paranormal folks in to investigate. But what a fantastic find you and EE had found. Thanks for sticking it out and taking us along. 👍👍👍👍👍🍻🍻

As someone who suffers PTSD and Chronic Anxiety, I can't say I've ever felt nausea with it. Although, when overcome with emotion, who can say? Every single person and human body is diff. I'd still lean towards bad air, whatever it may be. I won't speculate. Have watched you for a good 9-10 yrs. and only sporadically the last few. So glad to catch up with you and know there are still many many neat places and artifacts left to be discovered. Even with so many others out looking, there's plenty for you all I think/hope. This is by far, one of the neatest and most exhilarating finds tho. They are all great, but I could really feel your emotion and shock of finding this well kept place. GREAT WORK!

I would hazard a guess that the large filter containers with hazardous material symbols on could have been an issue too HH. As others say, get a gas meter, Geiger counter etc for your safety. Great video!

I noticed those canister marked radioactive at 5:50 ☢️ ☢️ ☢️ ☢️ ☢️ ☢️ ☢️ maybe they were not weapons, but for medical x-Ray equipment.

HH, when you 1st showed what was down the hole, I figured it would be filled with water. A ladder and stairs, amazing! I kept worrying that you would turn around and someone would be standing there! Ghost or human! I'm sorry to hear about what happened down there. I am so grateful you are ok, and EE didn't go down with you. I don't want either one of you to get sick out there. I'm hoping this will help you with fuel or whatever is needed the most. Thank you for sharing this amazing video and for all of the work you put into these. I'm going back to watch this again and see what I missed the 1st time! Take care and keep up the great work. Enjoying all of these!

Amazing find! It really does preserve the historic as well as more modern era. Some local military unit historian might know something about it, if there are any military bases close by. A bit concerned seeing the radiological stickers on the two filters :) Hopefully the property owner will take steps necessary to keep it intact and not let it be vandalized. (But yeah, it could make a really cool AirB&B with some upgrades!)

What an amazing find. Obviously a lot of work was done on that command bunker after the war, since a lot of the fittings are definitely not original, but it certainly gives you a great sense of what it would have been like under German occupation. I suspect during your first time through, you found a pocket of "bad air". Possibly in the room marked "LAB" with the skull and crossbones post it note under the sign. With the doors closed, and only the ventilation pump running, and no other movements to disturb the air, like people moving around, "bad air" can build up just from mould, or fittings like wood, paint, etc. slowly decomposing, and giving off who knows what chemicals. Perhaps this is why the ventilation pump was left running and no one was home. Someone was just giving the system time to clear the old air out, and circumstance just put you in the right place at the wrong time. Thankfully our favourite HH was okay, and like the trooper he is, continued on with the exploration. Many thanks my friend for showing us this fascinating bunker. Stay safe, stay well!

@@WW2HistoryHunter Part of Confined Spaces training helps you to identify such hazards. Most of the caves and bunkers you have explored have had reasonable natural air flow, but that bunker, being buried, with only that small entrance, would have next to zero air flow, so if the air pumps are off, which would be most of the time, the air goes bad, oxygen levels drop, and anyone entering can become light headed, panicky, disoriented, and nauseous. Like you did. You did the right thing, getting out straight away. By the time you went back in, you had disturbed the air enough to make it a little better. Happily, it all came good. My thoughts exactly

It looks like someone was there very recently, also some of the boxes look like modern ones. The puking feeling might be a gas leak which might indicate that it's being used by a gas company. With all English texts in there this might even be more reality. Telephone land lines might be present too and some internet, but might then be for a local town or something.

Great place to explore i think but a bit scary :)

Everything WW2 based that I’ve found in my area is pretty much archaeology now, remains buried in undergrowth and collapsed. Post war structures like ROC bunkers have been repurposed by modern businesses over the last 30 years. That bunker is amazing and I’d love to own a place like that

You were extremely brave going in there by yourself HH. Relieved you didn't take EE. You always know what's best. I am thinking that you also had someone on standby. Very eerie experience for sure. I wouldn't think gas. 🤔 Just not sure what it would be, further investigation needed. It looks like it was well used even after WW2. Hopefully, it won't be vandalized or have items stolen. Used yet not vandalized. Incredible! Could be the air system is not bringing in fresh air. Fan could be just moving the same air around. The open top let's in just enough air to not suffocate you?

@@WW2HistoryHunter crazy no one lives there. In the US it’d have to be cemented in. Of course, our homeless now live in houses they’ve squatted in, in expensive neighborhoods, it’s insane.

Wow for that ventilation motor too be still running props on manufacture and or technicians who maintenanced it in in commercial hvac i am fascinated by videos like these love seeing old school Hvac equipment pumps motors compressors, heating and cooling systems, huge exhaust fans and air filtration systems the engineering behind everything at the time was insane cool designs thank you.

My first thought was that the Bunker was protected by a ghost! But perhaps the ventilation wasn't working properly, and the air was bad? I don't know. But that was a place frozen in time, for sure!❤

I have watched you explore these bunkers for a long time and I believe this is the 1st time I have ever seen you enter one where the electrical was. On of course I could be wrong.

Excellent job with documenting this bunker. I think you got sick from methhane gas exposure. There must have been a septic tank for all the waste water. With all the water dried up in the plumbing, the gas could be coming from the toilet, sink and shower. Normally there would be vent pipes but they must be clogged up? Glad to hear everything worked out ok.

I’m an American but I grew up in Germany and I’ve been in a few bunkers and that’s the best I’ve ever seen. Wow amazing guy holy cow I’d buy all that Landon put up a damn house there and keep people out of there use that from my own personal thing I can imagine how many layers it has into that hill, good job that’s amazing good video

Very very good. With running machinery and general looks of this bunker, I am really surprised that you didn't actually knock on that closed door before opening it. It did appear that someone could actually have been in the property. The sound of the motor, electric rhythmic sound waves in an enclosed place such as that could have accounted for the nausea I think. Especially when coupled with your higher sense of awareness, excitement. I am just hypothesising of course. Maybe someone knows more. Great work.

At 13:28 A wall mounted box has the date 26.09.05 written on it. That, plus quite a lot of more modern electrical installations (including some that look like telecoms switches that have data bus style connections at 14:28) would suggest that this facility was in use for something up until at least 2005. A fascinating find though.

Yes and at the 8:15 mark on the video as you enter a room, to the right on the top shelf is a modern coffee maker. Obviously recently used location. Surprised there’s no water penetration with the entrance uncovered like that.

I'm a 50+ woodsman and survivalist. I have friends who have invited me on explorations similar to this like abandoned and forgotten dams, mines, factories, fish hatcheries and even an abandoned smelting mill but I keep declining as in nature I have a pretty good idea the dangers and how to avoid them but an abandoned and forgotten man made structure you never know what to expect and can find yourself in serious trouble in an instant. I stick with what I know and don't mess around where I don't belong.
