Under Electric Skies // Photographing Aurora Borealis
At some point in your life, you have to make a point to view the northern lights from a northerly location.... watching the lights dance overhead is one of the most awe inspiring shows mother nature has to offer. In this video I chase the Aurora over two days in Iceland, and am greeted with the craziest show I have ever witnessed..

Nick your photos and beard are always an inspiration to me. But mostly your beard.
Wow, I think the hardest part of nature photography is that you can't ask nature to pose for you. Instead you have to wait as long as you get what you want from the chaos of nature and take too many photos. Good job Nick @nickpage
"Dancing with the Stars"! Sorry, had to say it. Such creative shots. And the juxtaposition with the lighthouse - oh my! What a story about light that conveys! Will watch this one more than once.
This is one of my bucket list items.
That last image of the arching aurora over Kirkjufell...just ...wow. I really enjoyed this well made short video. Nice music selection to go with the time lapses. It was great to watch an experiential video like this where the videographer was immersed in the joy of witnessing the aurora.
You put us wright there with you with time-lapse and the dancing Aurora. Superb Nick, thank you !! If only one could have this as a screen saver, every time we opened our desktop.
Wonderful time-lapses and images - they show the beauty of science and the importance of Earth's magnetosphere.
Nick, this is one of your very best-ever videos. Well done. Was watching most of it with an OMG expression on my face.
In a world seemly gone mad, you bring healing to my Soul. Thank you Nick for your incredible endurance and continued photography that brings so much happiness and inspiration to me.
The time-lapse of the lighthouse and the green arc over the mountain at the end are mind blowing!
Simply unbelievable images, they are awesome. Thank you for doing the hard yards and sharing them us. I’m going to watch this video again and again, it’s so good.
You are not only an excellent photographer but also an outstanding filmmaker and story teller. Thanks for sharing this! Cheers from Argentina.
Nick, thank you for posting the incredible views of the aurora. Your hard work is appreciated.
Just WOW!!! How amazing both the lights and the photography. Thank you for sharing
Stunning displays, I'm in the far North of Scotland at 58.5* N and even a good display rarely get the ribbons like that. Great comps with the foregrounds, thanks for bringing us along.
Nick, You're Awesome! Thank you for sharing your skills and adventures with us...
WOW!!! Nick -- these images are INCREDIBLE!! Or as Tom would say --EPIC!!!! I look forward to your videos with anticipation of great information and great images. What you do is such an inspiration to me - thanks for all you do!!
Your last image in particular surely must be an award winner. I have never seen a shot like this. Totally beautiful.
Stunning photos and time lapses Nick! Well done! I think I saw a couple baby unicorns in some of those shots!
as sick as it gets! you seem so calm too... thanks for sharing these epic images Nick. Nature at it's finest.
U have captured exactly what it is like. Takes me right back there. Thank u 🙏
WOW!! Looks like you had perfect conditions for the NL's photography. Love the images & time laps. Keep it coming Nick!
A similar thing happened to me 4yrs ago over Kirkjufell. The night started very quietly with only a few green lights and then the show really started and it was crazy. From 25s exposure, we had to go to less than 1s. It was super light. We left 3h later but it was still ongoing. Hope to live that again this week in Finland.
That green arch over the mountain with the purples on the left... wow. Fantastic stuff. Thanks for sharing, Nick!
Incredible images. Wow! This was a trip worth taking. Beautiful Iceland. Thanks for this amazing video Nick. Wolfgang
In a word…amazing! Thank you for your videos. They have helped me get through a four month illness that has kept me from my camera. You have kept me inspired.
There's nothing like it really! Always so exciting and humbling. The display we got here in NZ recently was right up there with some of the more memorable ones I've had in Iceland. Managed to film the whole night also, which I look forward to sharing soon. Keep up the great work mate!
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing video👏😍👏It reminds me when I saw the northern light dancing around me. It was such an emotional experience I never will forget.
Wow….that’s amazing. Incredible shots. Thanks so much for sharing.
STUNNING, BREATHTAKING !!!!!
Awesome work as always. That final shot would be a "lifer" for we mere mortals - Welcome back to youtubeworld it's been far too long.
Killer images Nick! Reminds me of living in Anchorage, AK. Never seen the lights to the south but one time they were directly overhead. Instead of sheets of light across the sky it was like millions of shafts of light coming straight down at us.
Wow , this is up there with the best footage I've seen of the Aurora Borealis, thanks for your hard work putting this together Nick, stunning 👍
The last photo is AMAZING! Just Wow!
Staying up till 2:30 in the morning for a Nick Page production, looking forward to it. Wow, was so worth it. Thanks Nick Stay safe 🇦🇺

Wow...this is simply amazing with the time lapse and stills, but man oh man, that Aurora rainbow at the end is like nothing I have ever seen before. Loved how you ended with the fade to black after that shot. Just brilliant from start to finish.
Wow! What a ripper of two nights that would have been. Some of those images are beyond stunning. We've been enjoying a stack of Aurora Australis activity in Tasmania lately. Has been very exciting to get out on some nights and just take it in. So intense and strong sometimes it just incredible. You can't describe it really. Thanks for sharing.
There isn't a video you have put out that I haven't loved. But this being a trip I've dreamed of its one of my favorite!!!

Wow. Er, that's it. Not a lot more to say, really. Just, wow. Some great images of the aurora. Some as good as anything I've ever seen before.
Not all videos can be bangers like this, but you tend to have more than others. Awesome video. Have only seen the northern lights a few times in my area and would love to be able to film it some day.
That last shot is a giant piece of art! Thank you for posting this incredible video, Nick
I was going to say I'm green with envy much like the skies but it seems I'm pink too ;-) Amazing!
In awe my friend, incredible variety and what an experience....
Thank you Nick for taking us there with you!!! Absolutely majestic!!!! Stunning and magical!!! The photography, the music, and videography.. simply out of this world!!!
Nick, this is really masterfully done. I've seen a lot of images/footage of the aurora, but today your content, with the time-lapse, almost brought me to tears. Incredible work. It's my dream to someday see something like this.
As a ham radio operator we watch the sun cycle very close, solor maximum is ramping up for several years to come. Hard to believe collision between gaseous particles and charged particles from the sun meet in E layer to F2 layer and beyond 60-200 miles in earth's ionosphere resulting in the aurora borealis. Awesome video Nick, and hope some prints come up for sale later!
holy hell man, these are gorgeous shots! thanks for sharing
That last shot you shared in the video is Fantabulous
Amazing video Nick. They are such a sight to behold. I’ve been to Iceland twice first time we had wonderful display 5 nights out of 6 the second time was a total bust but it’s such a wonderful place to visit nonetheless. I can’t wait to go again some day! Amazing shots also!
