Unclogging 2 Pipes With Massive Discharge To Drain Flooded Road. Beavers Gonna Be Angry

I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

The gas being released reminded me of a chemistry experiment I did on viscosity. The thicker a particular fluid, the higher its viscosity such as mud, since it has more resistance than say just water which has a lower viscosity. This same principal is used with drilling.

Hey top hard work dude. Apart from the long drives, pulling dams is hard physical work in cold water. Saving roads in sparsely populated areas is a huge benefit to the road users. I know a bit about hard work, I was a surveyor and I worked in northern and central Australia 🇦🇺. The places where 45 C (113 F). Nights can crash from 45+ to 0C. At 47C the lcd displays on the Theodolite turn all black and unreadable. Handling metal can lead to burnt hands. The metal eye piece will get rid of eyelashes, burnt off. Keep doing what you’re doing, Geoff

I've seen quite a few of your videos now, and they just get better. It's actually a teaching video. I never knew Beavers used rocks, or about the tree frogs, the beautiful shots of the wildlife, and that Beavers don't use wood from a previous dam. (unless they have to.) Keep up with these videos, they're entertainment and educational. I love to see the fruits of your labor when that water comes gushing out!

Regarding the gas bubbles, I imagine what is happening is that they are expanding when they are depressurized, hence they exert a larger buoyant force, which helps them push through whatever is holding them in place. It's not so much that they are being held down by gravity nor by pressure, but rather that they are pinned inside a sticky mess. The mud might even be effervescent, containing dissolved gases that enlarge the bubbles when the pressure is reduced, just like when you open a bottle of soda.

If you brought a plastic/fiberglass yardstick with you, you could push it into the mud before you started, and get a reading of the water level height. It doesn't matter what the number shows, but you'd just compare that with the height when you finish. Would be interesting to see the water starting at say, 27.5" and drop to 22 when you are done.
