Unclogging Lots Of Culverts And Lots Of Road Damage After A Violent Spring Thaw

I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

The culvert at 1:17:50 is installed incorrectly. Not buried deep enough, and needs to be turned 90 degree to actually cross the road.

You're just genuine about it, it feels like I'm in the front seat with ya coming along to help. Way more relaxing then I realize, and even some cases there's a hint of danger from being swept by the current, or animal attacks, it's not just some casual 9-5.

That moose likes the road also. About 4 years ago coming down from Mt Rainier Washington for an all night astrophotography session 3 Elk followed me down on the side of the road for about 100 yards before they moved off the side of the road. It was in late September so they were in rut. I was lucky they didn’t try to fight my SUV. ❤

Another great video, you can't beat the north woods of Maine for content! Beavers are bad where I am too, I frequent ATV and other trails daily and they can flood them out quite badly. It takes awhile to get a trapper in to relocate them even when they undermine a fence by a fairly busy airport. A month plus later they finally got trapped. Strangely I have not seen any black bears this year but last year I saw quite a few including one stalking a woman walking down an atv trail! I scared it away though....

@post.10 Random question, Have you ever thrown your rake through the pipe by accident instead of a large stick or log?

Since I started watching your videos a year ago, I've always wondered about open bottom culverts and why they aren't used, because surely if there is a bottom it gives the beavers a small base to build from as it something solid on the ground. Meanwhile if the pipe was bottom less and the ground underneath was solid foundation, there'd be little to give beavers ease to build up.

In eastern Canada where i live, we have to be careful of moose. We have vehicle accidents with moose running towards the vehicle and sometimes jump into the hood and through the windshield. people have been killed and moose as well. So i was quite surprised you were so close and had no problems.
