One of the funniest things here is how there are two guys in their 50s trying to look and act way younger, and they're being reviewed by a younger guy portraying a guy in his 50s.

Soulless. Perfect description. When I was a young preteen girl, I wanted to look more sophisticated and intelligent than I was, so I shunned more quaint and older styles in favor of the ultra-modern style (think 2001 Space Odyssey). Lol. As I got older, I realized there's much beauty in different interior design styles (I have a few favorites for my own personal style, but there's beauty in all of them- even '60s-'80s, lol). Minimalist Modern needs to have elements of other styles or warmer natural elements in order to have personality. Or... you end up with that "soulless shopping mall" we just saw.

I saw no covers for those pools either, so the water is going to be evaporating like mad and need to constantly be replaced too. The only thing that isn't wasteful in this house is that the way it's set up does look like it could let a nice breeze through - keeping it cool or warm with minimal electrical heating... Which is a blessing because that floorplan and miles of marble flooring would make electrical heating a money sink anyways. This is the kind of house you build when you want to kill your Sims.

The putting surface looked like artificial grass, so there's that. The rest, though, I agree totally. 7 water features including a massive pool, on a mountaintop in LA (where it's sunny almost all the time) means a ton of evaporation for the pools, and LA is in a severe drought right now. So not wasteful /s

This designer is so proud of himself for a completely unnecessary house. He literally said "I don't believe in waste" then he proceeds to show off a kitchen that "no one will use" that has like 4 or more ovens. It's infuriating to me because everything in this house is excessive and wasteful. Only a truly egotistical person would buy this house, and even then it would likely only be used for bragging rights. I mean, you could hear them on camera being out of breath and winded just from all the walking by the time they reach the outdoor track... I honestly could keep ranting, but everyone gets my point; I just hate it so much.

Build really large rooms and space then try to position furniture to make it not looks empty, 13 couches around one TV in the lounge room with only 1 couch having a good view of the TV and a random pot plant or decoration in middle of nowhere to break up the space, and only 4 people living in the house. this house cost about $30m for the structure and land, $70m for the marble, weird wallpapers and carpets. And $400,000 for the weird random arts that they insured for $400m and strategically spread around the house waiting to be an insurance payout.

It's a lot of money to spend to maintain it. Electricity, water, gas, cleaning, pool maintenance, taxes & Mortgage. I'm not surprised that he'd go bankrupt from this house, it is way too much money & not even the richest person wanted to buy that.

Yeah Leif has it right in that there are multiple kitchens and that one is the runt kitchen that never gets used and has to sit and watch all the other kitchens having fun while he stares with his dead kitchen eyes wishing someone would let him play too. Although I guess technically none of the kitchens are being used since the house has isn't being lived in, he just developed/built it and has been struggling to sell it. Edit to correct myself: he actually did end up living in it and renting it as an event space to try to stall going into foreclosure. My bad on that
