I totally agree with you. I have no success using Uncle Ben as you said. It's way too much liquid in there and I never get anything to colonize.
How many of your bags would you recommend for a regular size shoe box, And monotub? I know those are two different things, and that the grain spawn would need mixed w/ cvg or substrate. Just wondering about any ratios you personally like to run. Love your videos! Hope to see you keep making more and more

For a regular shoebox (6-7 quarts), use 1-2 minibags (8.8 oz each) of grain spawn mixed with 3-4 quarts of substrate For a medium monotub (30 quarts), use 3-4 minibags with 10-12 quarts of substrate. For a large monotub (60-70 quarts), use 6-8 minibags with 20-25 quarts of substrate. Thanks for the kind words. More videos coming soon!

uncle bens without a flow hood is just a total luck of the draw results in contam more often than not, took to dive and bought a PC grain jars looking healthy

I did a run of 16 UB bags recently (off brand Dollar Tree brand), and only used an SAB. All 16 colonized fine. I have a hood, actually more than one, I just did this as an experiment to see how good/bad the UB tek method worked. It worked flawlessly, but I have exceptional sterile tek. I am a firm believer failure with this tek is user error, specifically sterile tek.
You went from one bag to the next without heat sterilizing the needle. If youre teaching others you might want to practice better sterile tek in your videos. Off camera, who cares
