Police Commissioner Chester Williams says he had been receiving “a number of disturbing messages” from the Canadian-born socialite, Jasmine Hartin, amid allegations that she had ordered a hit on him. She is also accused of plotting to assassinate the magistrate overseeing her child custody battle with former partner Andrew Ashcroft, the son of Britain’s Lord Ashcroft. Hartin, 33, is due to stand trial later this year over the May 2021 demise of Superintendent Henry Jemmott, whose body was discovered in the water near a dock, with one shot near an ear from his own service firearm. Hartin was released without charge on the new allegations and her mother, Candice Castiglione, told a British tabloid “it is yet another instance of the so-called justice system here in Belize victimizing Jasmine and smearing her reputation”.
Piers Morgan is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He began his Fleet Street career in 1988 at The Sun. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century. From 1995, Morgan edited the Daily Mirror, but was sacked in 2004.

As the interview gets near the end, the more I believe her and Mr. Morgan becomes to seem more like one striving to make it like a cheap tabloid gossip story. The gentleman who tragically died, his family is suffering deeply. They will long to find someone to blame for their horrific loss. They will have their suspicions. Brokenness often directs us to seek reason for senseless loss and tragedy. No disrespect to the family for their great loss of their loved one, but Mr. Morgan needs to investigate that perhaps the big story needing told is actually the corruption within the people governing and running Belize.

You are so right and Lord Ashcroft is right at the heart of that. He wields enormous power there and literally owns the bank, funds the police etc. It’s going to be very difficult for this lady to even see her children, let alone get custody. My heart breaks for them being deprived of a loving mother at such a young age because of something that happened by accident. (Not ‘on’ accident)

Piers was very disingenuous when he pretended not to know that Lord Ashcroft owns Belize and runs it as a corrupt tax haven. Even I know that, as does anyone in the UK with even a passing interest in this story. I really hope Jasmine gets a custody arrangement in place before the kids are shipped off to an English boarding school and brainwashed against her.

Clearly it other people's fault that she can't just get away with it and accept no responsibility. She doesn't need to apologise to anyone. In fact let her kill whoever she wants, why not also kill his sisters and children, that will shut them up.

There was something in her face - confidence and a peace coming forward in all that she said that had to come from a place inside of her. It made me seriously doubt hatred was boarding there, let alone murder. I deeply sympathize with her bc I know what it is to be set-up by powerful people and literally tortured by them. I understand the helplessness. The only way I have managed to survive is to form a deep connection with all that is true, good, kind and logical; this brings peace. positivity and the kind of integrity that can carry a person through an overwhelming circumstance. I am absolutely addicted to your channel! My dad is a retired police officer and I'm a nurse. One of my favorite pasttimes is to watch interviews with criminals, people on trial, serial killers, cults, fringe groups or people. I try to analyze them, get into their heads and try to understand them. I do the same with people in other cultures or countries. No one I know finds it nearly as interesting as I do, so listening to you guys is the next best thing to discussing it with someone. I rely heavily on non verbal communication with people. I hate talking on the phone with people because I feel like I am missing a sense. I never understood why I get such strong emotional reactions, especially when my reaction is incongruent with what the person is saying. Learning some of the things you guys talk about has put logical and clear understanding to why I have the different emotional responses that I have when interacting with other people. Sometimes we forget to trust our instincts and not only do you guys help me to better understand my reactions and responses to others, it has helped me to listen to my instincts more. Not to mention, I have watched many of these interviews before I started watching your videos and it's nice to hear other perspectives. Keep the content coming.

No….she has cried and felt grief, she has had to many times , repeat everything over and over. After time, you become somewhat numb and it becomes a matter of survival. It is a matter of her life and innocence against a powerful family who have the power and control on this island. When this is over….she will grieve. Right now her strength and mental well-being has to be for herself and her children. I truly believe she has cried, and this has been, and is,horrific for her. I pray to God that she is found innocent of murder. I believe it was an accident. A careless set of circumstances that led to a man’s accidental death. * Money and power used as vengeance and spite is an evil ,powerful tool. ***As for Piers Morgan…..he is belligerent, crude, jaded and highly unlikable. { That is my ( very opinionated) assessment having seen his interviews over the years. A few years ago my ex husband and I went to Belize for a holiday. We stayed in a place just outside of the city. The day we arrived there was a huge murder in the city. Four men were murdered in their apartment. I followed that murder case for the 10 days we were there. The way the police investigated this murder was incredible! The very first day they were letting people walk through the crime scene. Family members of these men were standing inside the apt crying and screaming! It was horrible. This 3rd world Country is very backward when it comes to investigations of a crime. The people were saying the Police did it, and the police were saying it was the drug cartel. The people were saying that the Police were lying and they had gone in and murdered these men so they could blame the Drug Cartel. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ They were blaming the police and saying they were corrupt. I guess what I am saying in a long winded way, is that I would never want to be blamed for a crime in Belize! I would be afraid, very afraid. 😳😳

If she and I are similar, behind her closed bedroom door, where no-one can witness, we can be wailing from the deepest depths of our soul. As an example, for years and throughout the time my son was diagnosed and has been dealing with cancer, the very few people I eventually shared this with told me that they've thought I had the world by the balls and never saw any signs of 😔 😟 💔

Yes, thank you Mark for clearing the waters about the “dancing on the rafters”. Piers knows perfectly what he’s doing. He makes it sound like she climbed the rafters, where only a heavily drunk cokehead would’ve thought to go in a wild dancing mood. It’s clearly a specific place to sit on, she shows no signs of intoxication and is actually quite self-aware. As an irrelevant side note: I’ve climbed worse places with a couple of beers in my system and I’ve never done cocaine …

I lived and worked in the TCI for four years; I believe that Belize has a similar kind of culture. It’s not like living in the “real” world. What most people consider normal in western society is not normal in the Caribbean. People drink like fishes and pretty much no one cares of public displays of drunkenness, it’s forgotten the next day. My point is, is that f’ing around with a gun on a dock while drinking wouldn’t be so unusual, especially if you’re with a cop. I had a cop friend in TCI who got hammered at the casino and his glock fell out on the floor of a friend’s car, he didn’t realize it until the next day. All this is to say, local culture must be taken into consideration, as you guys have pointed out many times.

Agree with you. Haven't lived in Belize but have lived a few years in another 3rd World Country. The "rules" are completely different. Even now, she has to balance how she's perceived in the West vs. the realities of facing charges within a questionable/corrupt 3rd world justice system. Let's not forget that Belize is a cocaine corridor and has one of the highest murders per capita rates in the world. Given all this, she did an admirable job in this interview. It's difficult to read her and ascertain the truth, though I've got a few vague suspicions about what could have happened.

Okay, finished the video. I agree, she was overall being truthful. I do think there was something bothering her around her relationship with Henry though. As a woman, I'm thinking that there was nothing going between her and Henry, but perhaps she let him THINK there could be. She was trapped in a marriage with a very powerful individual in a country that owed a lot to him, and likely she had offers of help from Henry, and she was carefully threading the needle of accepting help. When Piers questioned her about why Henry was teaching her about guns, he didn't ask why the police had been out there the previous week and what exactly prompted Henry to say she needed protection--what exactly did happen that she needed protection? Might come out in the trial. But anyway, I do genuinely think she didn't kill him on purpose.

This was a very cool episode to see someone who looks to be mostly not deceptive or manipulative. So distinctly different from the usual lying manipulative behavior we've been studying all along. I really admired her confidence, she was not drawn into Piers' attempts to manufacture drama at all, just stuck with her truth. I bet Piers felt so frustrated after!

I believe her. I’ve lived in places like this, and it is like a small town; they live on gossip, it is provincial, and some jerk always owns everyone else. I find her completely convincing, and I feel terrible for her. I wish her “common law” husband, would consider what is in the best interest of their children. I wish he would be, the bigger man, and do the right thing by his own kids. Instead of his damaged ego. They deserve a mother and a father.

I think she realizes that it would be wrong or disrespectful to his loved ones to laugh about the possibility of him and her having a relationship, so she holds that smile in. Never the less, I believe this may indicate that she is humored by the notion of them having any type of a connection beyond friendship.

Yes, it was a horrible accident- but it sounds like they both made choices to use guns and it was decided she needed to learn how to use guns. As someone who lived in Belize, Belize is a rough country and crime happens all day every day- like cant leave your house unoccupied without it being broken into kinda crime; I was mugged and beaten on the street in daylight. It's not surprising they would choose to practice using guns. Unfortunately, accidents do happen. So sorry for all involved, a tragedy for all involved, but probably not a crime.

As a policeman, he should have known better than to mix alcohol and a loaded pistol, especially considering that he was trying to demonstrate how to load a pistol to an inexperienced person who had also been drinking. In regards to the body language, as I watched Amber Heard, I continually had the sense that she was trying to sell a story. I did not get the same "gut feeling" from watching Hartin. I thought a few times that she was withholding details, but all four of you picked up on those points right away. - - Sidenote: I'm not an expert, but I know that there are claims that accidental discharges happen more frequently with Glocks than, let's say, a Colt .45 Auto, which is the pistol I prefer and may mean that I'm speaking from a biased point-of-view since I don't like Glocks.

Piers Morgan is the worst kind of presenter that can be found in the UK, the truth means nothing to him, he has to be the star of the show, he seeks stories to make himself look important and to hell with the truth. The lady must have been crazy to appear with Morgan, I can't think why she would agree to such a thing unless she wanted media coverage for her own reasons. I thought she basically told the truth, messing about with a gun in the dark whilst drinking is a stupid thing to do but the policeman was totally responsible for the control of his gun. If you let a child play with a gun and someone gets shot you don't blame the child. What was the motive for the policeman being there we will never know, she is a very attractive lady.

Basic firearms: Guy is a cop. There was one round in the chamber, the entire time. Hartin was manipulating the magazine, which was of no consequence. One round remained in the chamber. At any time, a mere 4 to 5 lbs of pull was sufficient for a Glock M-19 to discharge. And yes, alcohol was a factor. Again, there was always one round in the chamber. Accident, yes. Negligence, yes. At 52:30 Scott starts to describe how an accidental discharge can happen. This is brilliant in how he uses his hands to show us the story. It took me back to being a teen in 1980's West Texas right away. During a bbq at our home my step dad shot a hole in the roof demonstrating how safe the MKIV Colt 45 is to a woman with a fear of guns. He was former military and a Vietnam veteran. We hunted in all the seasons and were members of an NRA speed shooting club so he should have known better. We were in the living room sitting around him in his recliner. The weapon went off as he was showing that even if the trigger was being pulled it would not go off unless the grip safety was depressed, by putting his finger on it. BLAM!! Hole in the ceiling and roof. Needless to say she was not impressed.

Mark, Gotta say thanks for pointing out the choice of the editors to show the photo along with the words trying to show her as a party girl. When you played it without the words it was easy to see she moved with caution not in a party carefree kinda way. She was concerned with modesty but just having normal fun. This whole bit made me realize how I should always pay close attention to and analyze what I see and hear on tv because they are usually trying to drive a specific narrative of the story they are trying to tell. (Tries or not) Some tv is downright manipulative. I will always ask myself “what is the story they are trying to tell me?” and then I look for the truth.
