Hopefully this helps to make up for the fact that I didn't have cable during that '09 run 🥶

I miss Roy Williams. I miss feeling like we should never lose a game. I miss the hatred players had for rival schools. I miss knowing who was on your team. I miss watching guys grow and develop for 3-4 years. I miss the real emotions watching senior speeches. I miss college basketball as it was meant to be.

Bro they was some seasons with Roy near the end where we were losing a lot the Unc basketball spirit is still there it’s just the transfer portal kinda made things more new school but the old spirit of college basketball will never go away they still play with way more energy and defense than the nba and it’s still more entertaining cause you don’t make all the shots like nba cause there is actual defense being played in regards to the one and some and development of a player I’m not the biggest fan either but some of these kids don’t got time to stay in college and develop if they are already ready for nba they have to get that check as quick as possible for their families to live because lots of these players basketball is their only ticket out the hood and only ticket and way to help ur family be secure as well so they are more worried about there family’s survival than helping a school and develop there while earning little to no money people need bread

#FACTS I loved Roy's passion and his sincere caring for his players well being. But I believe Hubert Davis is a true tar heel and I wouldn't want any other coach for north carolina except Hubert Davis 😊😊

Great season.. to me the best unc team ever to this day. I hope with the veteran talent we have coming back and transferring In to unc for the 23-24 season we should be really good. There is no excuse long as Hubert does his job and coaches well we will be a contender fellas

This season was a genius. Every player added something. Deon Thompson was a solid wall 🧱. Wayne Ellington had the prettiest looking jump shot 🏀 in the NCAA. Bobby Frazier had the ugliest looking but effective. I always liked Marcus Ginyard he wasnt "a star🌟",but he was invaluable. Danny Green had that look, and he always knew how to hit the dagger, and he was consistent. There wasn't a player coming into UNC that I was more excited about than Ty Lawson. I knew when Ty found his game, he would lead UNC better than any PG we ever had before. He did not disappoint. Tyler Hansbrough just had intensity that is rare. Tyler fought every game. I think this team is one of the finest I've ever seen. That Oklahoma game, wow.

My freshman year in college in 2006 at late night with Roy during warm ups, I just remember Wayne Ellington hitting jumper after jumper, all net. I swore he probably missed 2 shots the entire shoot around. What a team and 4 awesome years of UNC basketball.

This team should’ve went undefeated as dominate as they was. I’ll believe and say that to this day. Roy’s best team and probably the #2 greatest UNC ever (behind the 1982 team).

Unc used to always be laoded. We always had big, long athletic players. Just seems like players are getting smaller and have high rankings and can't even hardly shoot. It's become more like an NBA prepping ground rather than about school and team spirit. The players on this team would run circles around and shoot over most players in the NCAA now.

Its been so long since they had multiple All Americans on the team, and now its even harder to develop players the way they've been using the bench. I'm worried that mediocre is going to become the norm for Carolina...

Izzo made a HUGE mistake before the championship game. He told his players that they were playing for the entire state of Michigan. What a F*ing boneheaded thing to tell his team before a National Championship game. Way to add even more pressure to the game coach! In the end, it really didn't matter what he told his team. You put Tyler Hansborough 40 mins away from a natty and it's all over but the shouting.

It always trips me out that every time we win a ring 🏆 Duke follows up and gets one as well. The power of the rivalry keeping one another sharp is like no other #TarHeelNation This “09 squad is hands down the best one 🫡. 2016 would be #1 if the refs didn’t give Nova every gahdamn call(I’m a sore loser with that one)
