Spotting turquoise imitators and stimulants would be very helpful (and interesting!).
Could you make a video about spotting faulty gems in the market? Things like opalite, resin malachite, dyed howlite, sodalite impersonating lapis and so on. Even heat treated amethyst. There is a lot of misinformation about rocks and sometimes it can be hard to spot differences in what’s synthetic and what’s real!
I would love to see an episode about the turquoise copies there are out there. That is really interesting to hear and so happy I know now.
YES! PLEASE! Turquoise simulants and synthetics!!
I'd love another turquoise episode about exploring and avoiding dupes.
Being an Arizona native I would grow up seeing Turquoise everywhere. Love the stones you brought! They were huge! I love the jewelry that can be made of turquoise
Yes! Please do a turquoise vs. simulents episode.
This was wonderful. My late husband was a Comanche. Award Winning Native American Sculptor and Painter. We showed and sold his work all over the Southwest. We spent enough time there to learn a little about turquoise and this was fascinating! More please!! My husband was Gordon W. Tonips. Thank you for this episode.
Great episode. I would love to see an episode that focuses on identifying true turquoise versus imitators such as dyed howlite. It would also be interesting to learn more about identifying untreated versus stabilised turquoise.
Yes a video on Turquoise in depth would be very helpful! And much appreciated.
I love turquoise because it varies so much. Its color and its density in the matrix is so varied. The Sleeping Beauty is such a beautiful color. And its stabilized so it wont change its color. Its fabulous and it was made super popular by the native americans use of it in all their art, jewelry, and beliefs. Cool episode and a episode the deep dives into turquoise would be awesome!

Oh good
Love the gemologist vs. geologist episodes! It's always a pleasure to watch you both and I always learn something new.
Love the episode, especially that I'm from Egypt where Turquoise has been very popular for thousands of years back to ancient Egyptians, Sinai, Egypt has been widely known for some of the best turquoise in the world. We even call it 'Ard El Fairuz' (land of turquoise). Waiting for many astonishing episodes of yours.
Yes I love professionals in their own fields passionately talking about their knowledge and expertise!! 🥰 Thank you!!
This was a really interesting video and as a GIA gemology student I would love to see a follow up video about the different treatments and simulants.
First time viewer here and I love this format. Gemologist vs Geologist. I make jewelry out of stones as a hobby and I have always wondered about the perfect scenarios that had to occur to create all the beautiful stones I work with. I learned so much about turquoise today. I’m definitely going to look up more of these videos now.😇❤️
Yes please! It would be super helpful to be able to spot the difference between the real and dyed turquoise 💙
why is the matrix sometimes black and sometimes more goldish brown? also yes please to the video about the dyed howlite/turquoise imitations
It is fascinating to learn just how variable the same mineral can be, that huge chunk of Chinese turquoise is Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing so much Passion and Joy about Geology! You are all Beautiful people and you make the world Brighter everyday!! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday full of great Friends, Family, and Food!
Turquoise was my late grandmothers birth stone, it always makes me think of her.
Great explanation and teaching of Our Gemstones!
My favourite crystal
WOW! That Planerite is an amazing specimen.
A lot of the nuggets you zoomed-in on are STB. You can see the stabilization acrylic / water based epoxy - resins coming out in the cracks as a clear but discolored coating built up
I definitely want you to make the video you were talking about getting more into detail about the turquoise and its properties. There’s not much quality information on KZread about turquoise.
I thoroughly enjoy these two ladies. Wonderful information and presentation thanks 👍
I enjoy wearing my turquoise jewelry and I’d be very interested in an episode comparing turquoise and dyed howlite. What are the characteristics of the two types of stones, is it possible to spot dyed howlite without special equipment, does howlite get passed off as turquoise? Getting the geologist’s perspective is always interesting.
Love turquoise! All kinds of information will be welcome. Thank you
I really hope you do a deeper dive into identification! Thank you for doing this video!
Yes please. I'd like to learn about the imitations too
This is so educational! You both are so knowledgeable. I wonder if anyone's made a video with a geologist vs gemstone mysticist.... That might be too cruel though 👀😂
I'm part Native and would love to see a video on that! Plus I'm a December baby and have recognized turquoise as my stone.
Please do a video on the faux turquoise. I love turquoise and have several pieces of Native jewelry with turquoise.
Throughout my childhood a day trip to Santa Fe wasn't complete until we undertook an expedition to peruse the turquoise jewelry displayed under the portale of the Governor's Palace on the plaza.
She feels like a princess with that necklace on! 💞
CUTEST PET ROCK ever...looked like it was cocking its rock head...🐶 🐕 😺 🐈
Definitely want more G Vs G!... Also the GIA recognizes the "Eljen Process" is a recently classed by the GIA. if I'm not mistaken was developed by Elven Jennings owner of the Old #8 Mine in Nv!
Yes please an episode about that!!! Thank you for educating!!! Always love to learn!!
Hi would definitely love to know more about Turquoise it's simulants and the treatments . You guys are doing a fab job👍🏻
Great video! Turquoise is definitely one of my favorite gems with the wide range of colors and webbing.
Stunning 😊😊😊
Would LOVE to see more Turquoise on your channel. This vid was amazing. Thanks!
Yes, please do a video on turquoise and it's imitations on the jewelry market. This would be incredibly helpful.
Yes, please make an episode about turquoise simulants and synthetics. Thanks for this episode. I learned a lot!
Fantastic episode. Thank you ladies! 🙏❤️🇨🇦
Thanks for the excellent presentation. More please!
I’m loving these deep dives into specific minerals. I love minerals that are colored by copper. I would swoon over a feature on those
Would be great to see some native american navajo and zuni turquoise jewellery! Also have a turquoise specialist in showing the differences between grades!
Yes please, more on the treatments and the other stones used to imitate turquoise.
Loved this presentation.
Stumbled onto this channel. This episode on Tq is wonderful. Have designed necklaces, bracelets and earrings using Tq almost 40 years. What is not to love? Got yourselves a new subbie!
Yes! Please do an episode on turquoise vs howlite!
britney is such a sweetie! love your videos!!
A comparison/detection episode would be really helpful
That is a huge Turquoise!
Very interesting video. Love Turquoise. Please do more.
I'm getting an SNL Delicious Dish vibe from this video and I am HERE FOR IT! 💙
This is the greatest series I’ve seen since Northern Mudlarks! Thanks!
Fascinating I only thought there was only one type of turquoise
Yesssss on the synthetics and simulants!
It's such a good idea to have an episode about turquoise and it's simulants. For us to be educated and be aware of... thanks..
The turquoise presented were all stunning! More vids on turquoise would be appreciated. And the G vs G is a great format. Would love to see it done on different specimens.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think you should have a separate channel called Gemologist vs. Geologist. I would absolutely love that❤️❤️
Its nice to find in streams.really stands out.
I just found the most stunning Turquoise necklace in a thrift store! My favorite Turquoise is from the Sleeping Beauty mine and lo and behold, I am absolutely positive that this necklace is made of Turquoise from the SB mine. Wow, when I saw this necklace,I felt like the Great Spirit gifted this to me as a Christmas present. And this necklace makes me joyous every time I look at it or wear it.

That's great! Congrats!
PLEASE do more Turquoise episodes! 😁
An episode dedicated to turquoise in it's many forms would be great. I have a bracelet my mother gave me years ago that is a large piece of turquoise with silver. She claimed that it was a natural occurence, but to me, it looks like someone dripped molten silver across the surface of the stone. Would love to have some feedback on that!
I am excited to watch this.
this was super cool :o I had no idea planerite even existed, it's so beautiful also, love the geologist's style, she looks like an actress 💚
Sleeping beauty is my pick it's so dreamy.😊
Turquoise has a protection power about it a lot of men in the Middle East wear it on there Rings for that reason
I vote for Gemologist AND Geologist...we don't need any more versus than necessary 😉🌞 Great episode ladies!...love, love, love the colors and history of turquouse!
YES ❤ I would absolutely love to know more “ detailed “ information on turquoises. I have a few pieces from the 70’s . I would love to know how to verify if they are synthetic or natural….?
Very cool. Ty.
love this and would like to see more episodes
I love me some turquoise. I usuall dig mine at the Royston mines in Tonopah, NV. Its for psy but w rd always get more than the fee. Plus we get to dig it. Keep the fun coming. Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒ 🎄
Planerite is reallly nice never seen it b4
Yes! Howlite Vs. White Buffalo!
Beautiful 😍
Great video!!! But can we include Persian turquoise and also all the imitators 😉
I love the sleeping beauty turquoise. One of these days I'll own one. I heard the mine is closed now, but I hope they reopen. A video on how to distinguish between synthetic opals, turquoise ect would be a good idea
I would love love love an episode on identifying synthetic or dupe turquoise. Are there any visual tips that can be applied while shopping online?
Cool video thanks!😁💜✌️

Thanks for watching!
Nevada has the most variation in mines. Red Mountain, Indian Mountain, lone Mtn, Godber Burnham, Royston, Candelaria, Lander Blue, Blue Wind- those are some big boy CLASSIC mines with the top grades of web matrix. Morenci in AZ is another classic, Kingman in AZ produces tons of turquoise but it is mostly chalk, so the Colbaughs of the Kingman Mine Processing joint they treat it and stabilize it. Most blue is Kingman or Sleeping beauty. In New Mexico, we get Cerillos and Hachita mainly, plus Colorado with the Leadville and Cripple Creek, Manassa AKA King’s Manassa
The first piece was animal-like, resembling a hare or rabbit. A voyage of discovery with each video.
Would appreciate you all discussing Fire Agate.
As a jewelry designer, I would definitely like to know more about Howlite & Turquoise use in jewellery pieces.
Yes please!
My favorite is Sleeping beauty turquoise with Zachary process to stabilize the gem. Mined in AZ.
Yes, yes...love stones, but the geology makes it real...to understand where it came from and what yiu are truly wearing....many more, please
I would love a video dissecting Turquoise info.
Nice one
I’m lucky enough to live in an area with great rock hounding. The little jar of rough was my pick too! Cause it reminds me of all my little jars 😂.
I know that the finest type of turquoise, meaning the ones that is used by high-end jewelry brands like van cleef and Arpels comes from Iran. There is another mineral that is often sold as turquoise named crisocola. I would like to to hear about them as well. Learning about all the places a gemstone can be found and the difference between the minerals found in each place is always interesting to me.
The purple is not natural so im glad you mentioned it is dyed
Yes Do an imitation turquoise video
Where in Virginia is turquoise found? Love that big piece! That would be some ring huh? 😆. Have you ever done a video on wampum?
@isabellavalencia8026
Жыл бұрын
The big piece was from china
Yeah I would like a comparison between a real turquoise jewelry piece and a dyed howlite one
Chrysocolla next 😆😆💙
