I just purchased a beautiful old 112 gram sterling cuff from an estate with 16 lovely #8 stones each about the size of a dime. I was going to sell it but when it actually fit my big wrist I just didn't have the heart to part with it. This will be with me for the rest of my life.

Awesome video. I learned a lot and gained a new appreciaation for Turquioise.This video reminded me of a ring my grandpa had when I was a kid. It was a silver ring with three stones in it. A turquoise, what I can only guess is that reddish coral material and I can't quite remember but I think it was also a black stone. They were all three sized about the same. It was something we lost over the years I'm sure. Another question I had was at the 24:15 mark they show some bubbly looking atones. I recently was left with somehting similar from a friends passing and I never knew it was even related to Turquioise. I thought it was sort emerald looking so I didn't look at it much. It's been sliced down the middle and that side is perectly flat. Now that I know it might be turquiose I'll have to give it another look. Thank you for this video. A random video I found somehow strangely felt like desitny revealing itself. Thank you for that.

I purchased my very first native American necklace of pinion pine seeds and seed beads on the side of the road at four corners in the 70s....after that it was a rap, the deep greens & blues were the colors I chose! Love the old-school goods! The sw natives got it going on, then and now! 🤠

I have an antique Native American neckless that my family passed down to me. It’s silver and turquoise And coral.. big stones fine silver work many details. How would I have it paraded for value on my insurance? I’m on a side road here, but I thought you might know. I see nothing on the market , I have not searched a lot, but nothing compares to its beauty. I’m told it’s very old. Everyone that knew it’s history has passed. It’s been so long ago that it was given to me. I wore sons wedding and it was stunning! Thank-you for your time and knowledgeable information. I enjoyed your video. Peace

I have a 34.1 carat piece of turquoise (at least I think it is,) from an old friend that passed away from Arizona. If I sent you some pictures, could you tell me what kind it is? It has a darker matrix than most; I don't think it is copper bearing, but has a beautiful color, at least to me. If you could shed any light on this, it would be much appreciated. Thank you, Becca

Two books that I would highly recommend 1 is Turquoise Unearthed an illustrated guide by Joe Dan Lowry and Joe P Lowery. The other is Native American and Southwestern silver Hallmarks by Billy Hougart. Both are excellent references. The second one about Hallmarks is not cheap but in my opinion it is an absolute must if you are planning to collect Native American Jewelry. Hope this helps get you started.

Hi there. Good info. I have a question. Is sleeping beauty natural turquoise supposed to have greyish matrix? I bought a 5mm strand that has almost more matrix than blue. There are a couple of stones where there are spots fallen out and it is white inside. One has a perfectly square piece of ? in the middle which is white. I paid $26 for one strand. Is this supposed to be like this? The blue color is like the morenci stone in the video. Should i have it looked at by a jewler?

I've always seen Sleeping Beauty have more blue than matrix, but if there is anything I've learned about turquoise it's that there are many variations from within each mine. Definitely have someone look at it to confirm that.

Hey at 24:10 exactly what kind of turquoise is that and how valuable is it I am asking because I have turquoise in a gold setting that looks most similar to that but I can't kind out the name of it if anyone knows please tell me I would be so grateful thanks! Yeah, the greenish is Indian Mtn. the darker blue in black matrix set in goll however-- could be Top Grade Lone MTn most likely

Can anyone tell me the difference between enhanced and “raw”

most of the time enhanced means it has been color-treated stabilized means it has been mixed with resin or something in order to make it stronger, raw should mean it's in its natural form.

My grandfather and dad owned two mines in the late 80s and early 90s called Shoshone and Little Blue Bird in Austin Nv. Would love to know anything about those mines and turquois as I have a ton I inherited.

If I dont mistake some of the sleeping beauty turquoise is dyed purple. I dont know why they do it and why people buy it.

It's from Kazakhstan if you find any, it's called Golden Hills. Watch out for the "Mohave purple" and whatnot-- that's composite dyed and stabilized

Two things: there's White Buffalo which is opalized Calcite or Dolomite-- The Otteson family owns the claims and it only comes from Nevada, it's not turquoise. Dry Creek turq can be found almost colorless but most has a pale blueish hue to it--- that's turquoise. So to answer your question, not really, no
