I had a pleasant experience with the venture X. I booked a flight with the portal and it was a bit more then the airline had it for. They right on the spot matched the lowest price and refunded the rewdt

It’s a great card especially now that they’ve removed foreign transaction fees from it!

When I was activating my VentureX it had me tap the card to verify my identity. As well it had me do the same when adding it to my Samsung wallet.

How long does it take to get priority pass? Have a trip coming up and I've never used lounges before. Do you need the Priority pass card, or can you just flash the venture X?

It should be instant from what I remember. Once you’ve enrolled in priority pass through your VX, you can use your venture x card to enter priority pass lounges. You can also get the priority pass app which gives you a digital card. You can add this digital card to a digital wallet if you choose. Hope this helps!

Is it true that you will have a hard inquiry with the 3 credit companies? I heard that the approval method is weird for this card, example people with good credit and low credit usage get rejected, and people with the opposite scenario get approved. Can you please comment?

Yes, Capital One pulls all 3. Approval is really a mixed bag from what I've read. I go over my personal data points in my watch me apply video.

It depends on your spend. Do you have the CSP or CSR? If you have the CSP, the Venture X is essentially the cheapest way to get lounge access. As long as you can fully utilize the $300 annual travel credit, the Venture X is solid. You can bank the 10,000 anniversary miles until you're ready to use them. You'd have to be ok earning points/miles in 3 different systems. However, I wouldn't want to see you spending money on annual fees if you're not getting enough value from them.

You got a VRBO deal and another video said you used your miles to reimburse the VRBO deal so did u pay nothing for the VRBO at the end and get a 5% payout of your cost or was the reimburse including the 5% reimbursement as part?

Hey Scott, I got a 5% back capital one offer for my VRBO stay. Since it’s a capital one offer, I’ll get the 5% back as a statement credit. The 5% back is on top of the 2X miles I’ll get from the venture x. I didn’t use my miles to reimburse my VRBO, I was just using that as an example of how you can use your miles. I’m currently saving my miles and I’ll likely transfer them out to Capital One’s travel partners (to be determined). But like you mentioned, I COULD use my miles to wipe out my VRBO stay and also get the 5% and 2x miles back on top of that.

So exactly how does the card work at the lounges? Do you just show them your card and they let you in?

For the Priority Pass Lounge network, you'll need to enroll, which you can do in your capital one app or on their website. As far as Capital One lounges and the Plaza Premium Lounge network, you can get in by showing your Venture X.

Just got approved for this card. Does the collsion coverage mean I can start to deny the waiver at the rental company and in the worst case scenario capital one will use their insurance?

Yup! It's primary coverage, so if your rental vehicle incurred damage/theft, you'd go through this insurance first. Make sure to read the guide to benefits, however, because there are certain exclusions (extended rental periods, expensive cars over $75k, vans, motorcycles, etc.). Also, this doesn't provide liability insurance. You'd have to go through your personal insurance for that.
