Anyone know when the 11-36 cassette is out with the groupset and different size crank arms?

Not sure anyone knows yet, but it definitely won’t be in 2022 unfortunately.

what chain type this group set comes with ? 105 chain ?

That 11-36 cassette is killer! Very sensible steps and a good wide (but not stupid-wide) range. For some odd reason Shimano had an 11-36 in 10 speed, did away with it in 11 speed, and now it’s back with 12 speed. I wonder if it’d work with a SRAM AXS setup? 👌🏻

@thedownunderverse we completely agree! Don't think the SRAM chain will interact very well with the Shimano cassette unfortunately.

Did you notice that the chain get caught between the cogs and doesn’t slide all the way down sometimes when you are in 5th gear. Cogs on the smaller 21 teeth cassette ring seems to close and touches the chain. When the chain eventually drops it makes a clunking noise.

Hi Raymond, this isn’t a general problem as far as we are aware and certainly isn’t a problem on any of the bikes we have here in the shop. Maybe get it checked by your local Shimano store.

@@wecycle384 Been riding for a while and still got this issue. Only one cog on the 6th ring sqeezes the chain while it is on the 5th gear but only when a wide link passes. So every other revolution it makes a sound. I have a video to show you if I may send you a link.

Why have paddle buttons that are easy to shift even with gloves. Is there a trick to easily operate the forward button without touching rear paddle button. Are there any videos to help users figure out how to consistently easily locate the forward buttons. Yesterday the shop switched the right for me. So when I push rear right paddle button it moves to a larger cog on rear cassette. Any HELP video demonstrating how to consistently find and push the forward buttons without searching. Seems too complicated on wiring. Now trying figure what parts required for Bluetooth sender and more wires. Why is Bluetooth unit cheaper if I order from UK Amazon versus US unit. Can I charge by plugging the handlebar usb into my car usb. Any help videos on usb using car outlets. Thanks!

Hi CB, thanks for the questions. There is quite a lot to unpack here! The smaller front button is raised above the larger button, so it stuck out further making it relatively easy to find but I’m happy to do a quick video on how to hold the hoods to make shifting easy. I don’t think we are talking about the same system here. The new 105 di2 doesn’t need any extra parts for Bluetooth it is all built in to the rear derailleur. Secondly, the only place you can charge it is the also on the rear derailleur, it doesn’t have a connection port on the handlebars. I suspect you are referring to the previous di2 version of Ultegra or Dura Ace.

The coming future of cycling all groups 10 speed and above will be electronic. It's cheaper to produce. Campagnolo need to get off their butts though. Only offering Super Record in EPS isn't going to help them survive. The one thing I think was a big mistake for the industry was moving away from rim brakes. It's made the cost of the new groups so expensive people are taking a fit.

Shimano stuffed up. I won't be buying a Shimano equipped bike in future as they have priced me out of their potential market. The previous generation 105 was a good compromise of functionality, weight and cost.
