from what ive seen from de bethunes manufacture video they blue large pieces in an oven. it would be really impossible to blue a whole case with a oil lamp "by hand". beautiful thing though

Not to my taste at all but I salute the Star Trek reference (which I actually like a lot despite not being a Treki) but my god it is too blue. Also I deeply dislike the black and blue colour combination in general so I really really hate the choice of strap.

Respectfully, for $200K they could have at least done it with a matching 'fully blue' deployant clasp instead of that buckle-and-tang nonsense :-/

Although I like blue dials, this watch is a little too blue for my taste :)

Oh for the days when even a new Patek came in just a simple box just a bit bigger than the watch! These huge boxes are hideous to me, just trying to add false value, it represents the marketing and myth rather than the reality I feel. But then again, at this level these days it’s just soulless people who can afford these things so they need all the foppery they can get to get some sort of emotion out of the experience, after all, this like all the others of this ilk will spend 99% of its life sitting in a small box in the safe so I suppose the owner has to have something to look at! Sorry, this is all just ridiculous

Of course it’s part of the show, but at level of pricing one can expect to have something coherent when you buy this kind of timepiece and i don’t think it’s false value as you mention, just a full package, but thanks for your comment and thoughts about this. Best to you
