Oh yes, everyone should have one of these in their collection and hey, that clip makes a definite statement but nothing we can’t come to terms with 😄 and let’s face if all we had was gems, that by it’s own definition would make the collection somewhat `staid‘ and as such, you’d need something like this piece to give it a sense of balance 😊 once again, thanks for the video Jake ✌️

Sensitive man. Very soft hands.

I was going back and forth on the clip. Then I bought the knife. Now I get it. It's an unapologetic big chunk of supremely machined metal and the clip fits in perfectly. It does seem tacky until you have the knife in your hand, then it starts to click with you. It's kinda like combining some small ridiculous accessory with a really nice toned down suit. Would look stupid on its own, but in the all around nice package it becomes more of an expression of individuality rather than just a tasteless or tacky fashion fauxpas.

One of my favourite knives in my collection. I think they are sexy as hell.

Man, all these Chaves videos drive me nuts. The 229 was my grail and I finally got one on this last drop. And it wouldn't open. The detent was so strong that it took two hands and a hard pull to get the blade out. I watch all these videos of people's blades flying out and it is incredibly frustrating. I had to return it. It was such a cool knife, but that really sucked. I had always heard that Reate's qc was good, but they dropped the ball on that one and ruined my grail for me.

It being my grail and having high hopes for it really made for a letdown. Maybe I will try again on a future drop.

@@normal1972 should've picked a better grail! 😂... Just playing... but Reate QC has been great in the ones I've owned. Very sorry that happened to you man! sounds like something that would happen to me honestly... So many other better knives out there though in my opinion... I wouldn't be one bit hesitant to go with Reate again even after they dropped the ball on the Chaves. I almost guarantee it couldn't happen twice...cheers

That’s a shame it literally takes 5 mins to fix detent on a knife , Mine was stiff too and I tuned it to perfection

@@Antimatter. I have gotten another 229 since then (up to 3 Chaves' now actually) and it is smooth as butter.
