@@sc1 definitely ditch the two tone. And if the AD can get you a black or white SS Daytona, great. Otherwise, keep it at the two. Glad to see the collection getting more refined!

You got such a great taste on watch. Never heard of this patek before, it has a lot of texts on the dial but it doesn't look cluttered at all. And as you said, the white creamy dial is just perfect for this piece. Such a beautiful watch, congrats!

Patek makes some really great designs. It's worth it to take a look at all of their watches.

Congratulations. The 5212 seems great for daily office wear and for more casual situations. If I had these three in the watch box, I fear the 6119 would get ignored as I would grab the 5205 every chance I got.

Very interesting choice of typeface by Patek. It's a lot more casual than I expected of the brand. If you look closely, the same letters aren't the same (e.g. all of the A's don't match). It seems as if they had someone sketch the design by hand, then copied it over to the computer to print that exact sketch onto the dial. If so, then judging by the penmanship, I'd lean towards a post-millenial gen or a man with average or sub-par handwriting trying really hard to make it look neat.

Congratulations. Of the three, aesthetically my favorite is the 6119G, with the 5205G a close second. For a daily wearer I would choose the 5205G as I find the date function useful though generally prefer a large date window that we see with German watches or with the Rolex cyclops window. I sense that your 5226G is coming soon.

I only wish the 6119G was slightly smaller in diameter, and it seems to have a lot of glare. The 5205G is more comfortable to wear. The 5212A is the next most comfortable.

I'm making progress to upgrading and consolidating at the same time. Soon I will be tightened up to 10 Rolex, 3 Patek, and 2 Omega. Then, the wait for the next Patek begins.

I’m close to being done with Rolex, but I’m nowhere near being done with Patek. True, I am happy with what I have now, but I am still interested in some other pieces. There are a lot of options out there.

Wow! This is actually my favorite calatrava. Saw it in person in HK - love the calendar complexity and steel case gives it that sportiness and informality. Rare piece, far rarer than the white gold model - according to my Patek dealer. You definitely qualify for the aquanaut/nautilus now - they should offer that to you next.

Very nice, congrats! Was there any discount discussed or offered? Or did you purchase at list price? Just wondering b/c a lot of the non-Nautilus non-Aquanaut models are currently trading well below retail price on the secondary market, and in the past (like pre-2020) ADs would routinely offer 10-20% discounts to established customers.

Very near the top. The BEST of my Patek collection (above the 6119G and 5205G). It is so elegant, yet casual. The opaline dial is mesmerizing. Very lightweight and under-stated. No one knows what I am wearing. I changed the strap to a slightly darker tone and smaller size. But yet it’s not a Sports Watch, and I end up wearing some of my Rolex more often. (Submariner 124060, Daytona 116508, and GMT Master- II 126719). Mostly after work. But I wear a suit to work, and nothing beats a Patek.

No discount. This was my 2nd watch from this store. My first was from a different AD that now no longer sells Patek.

Are you happy with the shorter PP leather strap you ordered? Does it fit you better?

Yes, the size short Patek strap fits just right for me.

Congratulations, this is a watch i wanted for a while. But lately I've fallen a bit out of love for it. Cool that its steel, but they definitely cut corners on it. Could have been a great piece if the dial was hand printed and not stamped, better hour markers, and definitely needs a better strap. Also strange that it has a date window when everything else is on the dial. Nonetheless, i think it will be a future collectible because its steel, so congrats and wear in good health

I love the dial and case shape. I think the hour markers and hands look good. The strap is not the best color. I’m looking into some other strap options.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS S C, one of the best Pateks you can buy. My guess was the 5226G, so maybe next you will get that.

I'm hoping for the 5226G sometime in 2024, but in the meantime, I just acquired the Rolex 126515 in time for Christmas...

This is a great watch with a very unique and ingenious functionality (basically you get an annual calendar output with a day date input). You need to adjust it 5 times a year, correct?

Yes, not quite an annual calendar because you need to make corrections periodically.

Congrats on a great PP collection! I currently have a 5205r and a 5167r - and noticed you mentioned the subdial on the annual calendar is for a different timezone. My AD explained it is the 24 hour clock, did I misunderstand? I think it could very well be used as a different timezone so good idea 👍 ps the 5212 is actually my next preferred timepiece and I’m on the list . It’s very interesting!

That was my mistake, your AD is correct. The subdial is not an extra time zone, it’s just a 24 hour indicator. But I still love this watch. And my 5212 is great too.

Yes I love the 5205! The weekly calendar function appeals to me as in my business I schedule appointments through weeks, and it is a non recognisable Patek. I like the idea of a constant reminder of how many weeks are left in the year (motivational I guess). At family gatherings, I sometimes feel a bit embarrassed wearing rose gold pieces or Rolex (many people start talking about them, or the value etc) . I am very excited to get the 5212, which flies slightly under the radar - congrats and thanks for the clarification! @@sc1

Congratulations The 5212a is a special timepiece. You could spend hours admiring the complication, the font on the dial, the lugs I could go on and on. It is tough to pick a clear winner in your Patek collection. Perhaps the 5205g but the 5212 has its merits. @@stevenbrown4060 Thanks for following my small corner channel of YT. I spend way too much time on making videos. But these three Patek are so mesmerizing. I always forget to mention some kind of various detail, such as the 5212 lugs being welded on… or having 5 hands. The 5205 and 5212 are my favorites. But if I needed to wear a tuxedo, I would reach for the 6119, no question.

I ask because my Patek dealer is being Santa nice to me, and I am picking my new piece next week!

@@sc1 I must admit - was a bit unexpected, he offered me one of a 5712, 5726, (both with leather strap) aquanaut 5168 blue/white gold, and the 5980. I went with 5980. I think it’s year end inventory they are trying to clear

@@abhaig the aquanaut would be tempting too, but it wears too large on my wrist. If the 5726 came with a steel bracelet, I would have definitely taken that. What other Pateks do you have already?

Why the effort and the money if the ultimate target is a Nautilus ? You think you enjoy them at the moment but probably wont look back these boring Calatravas after you get that sports PP. Could have gotton a 5712 in grey market less than what you will end spending. But understandably, this is a journey, and we enjoy being part of it :)

The Nautilus is Not the ultimate target, but maybe a tertiary target. I only buy a watch if I like to wear it. I’ll be totally fine if I’m never able to add any other PP, and I’ll keep enjoying my “boring” Calatrava and Annual Calendar. (I’m well aware of immediate availability on the grey market, but I choose not to partake, I’d rather buy from the AD)
