Great video thanks. Agree the Calatrava wears large and they should have made it 37-38mm and with sloping lugs. That’s why I went with Lange. But I really want the 5205!

I have Langes and Pateks and need to admit: Lange movements with their handcraft and finishing are in a different league.

The Calatrava is stunning. Can be entry level, sure, but can also be an exit watch.

Congrats! Both beautiful watches and also the other two you’re looking at next! Of the classic style Pateks I like the 5396R white dial and it’s 38.5mm

5226 dial is special! So unique for Patek. Love it! That’s the one.

I’ve been more and more appreciating the dress watch experience. I thought I had this with Rolex, but there can be further elegance found beyond Rolex, in other brands.

Calatrava 6119G is a must, absolutely a stunning piece when you look at details (clous de Paris, brushed dial, etc) and quite low profile in the world of PP; owning one, it’s a daily wearer without any problem - especially when you’re not sure what to take in your collection ;)

Been looking everywhere for this type of video- showing a Calatrava in the real world and in use. Thanks for making it.

Thank you, Patek is in a totally different playing league. I still love Rolex, but I now view them entirely differently: as Sports/Casual watches. But the Patek are the true, elegant, dress watches for me.

Nice video. Only thing is the 5205 does not have second time zone. It's just the day/night indicator on when and when not to change complication settings.

As usual a great video! I am on the list for the 5226. Another AD has offered me an AP 15510 silver dial. Difficult decisions. Hard to pass up.

yes, go for the AP if it fits. I want the 37mm version RO with blue or silver dial.

Great stuff. I am on my AD list for the 5226G. Hopefully I can get allocate for my 50 birthday next year. Was offer the 5205G but I pass, as I have a small wrist.

I have a small wrist too, but the 5205G wears well on it. 5226G is not as thick, but still has a relatively large diameter. it seems very popular, so I’m not sure how difficult it is to get.

It’s super interesting how we’re both into such similar things- I’ve got some watches the same as yours (calatrava, explorer etc), a similar but different Barbour (bedale) and I too am a Leica fan (and own a Q3). Super strange how I’ve returned to your channel thrice for three completely unrelated reasons. Kudos man! Looking forward to more content.

As a third piece you need one of these awesome small rotor movements (240). This complements your hand wound calatrava and your large rotor AC. Have a look at a world time: My favourite is the 5110G or P

Beautiful watches. I also have a small wrist but tried the 5205g and it wears much smaller than its size. I passed on that and have just been offered the 5205r which I've been waiting for. Hope i like it in the flesh more than the 5205g. Otherwise bad decision.

Great stuff and lovely watches. You're further down the road than me but I've started looking at Patek as a progression from Rolex (love how you now do Rolex Saturday rather than Seiko Saturday!). I'm looking at the 3940 as a first and maybe only piece.

I can’t afford this level of time piece. However I just inherited a 70’s calatrava 3563/2. It’s an interesting wrist watch I just wish I knew what Patek called the face/dial on this particular calatrava because it’s like nothing I’ve seen in pics online.

Suits are from Liverano. I don’t have a good tailor near me, so I send them tmtailor.com for alteration in the sleeve length and pants hem.

Well, you've got a Calatrava, so hold off on the 5226G til you can afford a 5326G and get the 5212A which is so unique in the watch world, IMHO!

Good advice on the 5326G. I backed off because of the price, but it’s a very nice looking piece. But also slightly bigger and thicker than the 5226G. Something to think about.

Excellent suggestion. My appreciation for watches grew once I experienced some vintage pieces.

I don’t see how another Rolex could ever be in your plans after these two! And I’m not surprised that you now wear these more often to work. They are perfection and look so good with a suit.

You were correct again. I was at the (Patek/Rolex) AD today for another reason, and I actually had difficulty thinking of another Rolex that I absolutely really wanted... But he was able to surprise me with item from my Patek Philippe wish list!!

@@ALLinHerMovements I think I have enough Rolex, and should consolidate. The Patek passion is still growing: three models currently, and maybe two more in the future. One of my commenters said, 'Patek clearly tells you what hoops to jump through, and when. Rolex leaves it vague.' I accidentally overheard a Patek salesperson tell a customer, "We want you to be a Patek 'collector' before asking for the Nautilus or Aquanaut sports watches" I just wonder where AP falls in with this. I only want one 37mm Royal Oak, and that's it from them. They left it vague for me, just like Rolex. But Patek was upfront with me.

Just get the aquanaut first fellas
