Bought my first Glock 30 in 1999 and just bought the Gen 4, to me the Glock 30 is one of Glock's best firearm.

The G30's are very nice shooting 45s! In my experience they are also very accurate.

@@JasonNortwich glock because it actually carries 10 rounds and 1 in the chamber, my xdm compact only carries 9 rounds and 1 in the chamber sadly, but I love my springfield...but for carry my glock is with me now

Thanks Ashton. I’ve been noticing that with Glocks lately. Their boxes are starting to seem very small and cluttered with parts and accessories.

The G30 is a fat chunk but what a awesome soft shooting 45 . Glock also makes a flush fit 9 round mag but they are very hard too find.

@@Ben-gy8yq it’s great, still shoots like a dream. Id recommended a tulster holster for it. They are molded for the 29/30 specifically.

Why is it every unboxing I see there are 3 mags but when I was looking at one. At my local store they claim it only comes with 2.

I love mine.

I have a gen 3 g30 and was looking for a sf. I heard that the gen 4 is the same size as the sf with no Backstap is this true. I wish I can hold both at the same time but I never see both on the shelf and gun store won't let me pull mine put to compare

10 round mags should be standard, 3 mags for gen 4.

Would this be an acceptable Glock in bear country? I don’t want a big heavy revolver to lug around and I have a CCW. I’m planning a trip and want to be safe from wild critters.

I would recommend something with a greater capacity. Bears can be rather large and it would hurt to have more bullets to send towards one charging at you rather than just enough or not enough.

Stick with factory parts. Aftermarket stuff reduces reliability. Glock night sights are good. Get a 6lb trigger spring ( wolf or other ) will reduce felt trigger pull. If you want to reduce pre-travel, Johnny Glock sells a smooth trigger with an adjustment screw to remove it ( all of his stuff is awesome and is factory made with small changes to improve function ) JG also sells a slightly modified Glock minus connector that is better than any other connector out there. Maybe some Talon grips and you’re set. The connector with the smooth trigger from Johnny Glock is a perfect combo with complete reliability.

Yeah, the naming can be quite confusing. The thing to remember is that they are named in order of release, with the exception of generations of that model. So the higher the number the newer that particular model is.
