    It depends on the rifle. If we compare 2 similar rifles with similar price range, then Sako is tad heavier since those rifles has more metal parts than plastic. They are both excellent rifles, you can't go wrong with either. It is just matter of preference, do you like light rifle that means bit more plastic or do you like them sturdy which means more metal and weight.

  • @duhni4551

    @duhni4551

    3 жыл бұрын

    Then again if we compare their range rifles, Tikka has made purpose build one where Sako has made one which can be used in hunting and in the range. So Sako obviously is heavily hunting oriented where Tikka has more purpose build rifles. In top end rifles, Tikka is complete crap compared to Sako though, there aren't even one Tikka that can compete against TRG family.

    You should reposition the front scope mount so the back edge of the mount sits flush with the exit port for the cartridge. Since the Sako mount is V-shaped you will get the scope perfectly centered that way. When positioning the mount more forward the point of impact is shifted to the left, as you demonstrated when zeroing, since the left side of the mount is fixed and the right side has the tensioning screw. But the bigger problem is that you are also putting more tension on the tube of your expensive scope the further forward you place the mount on the rifle. Or just let the shop do it for you ;-)!

  • @Physics072

    @Physics072

    6 жыл бұрын

    If a mount is made with proper spec it makes no difference if you have it forward or back. It will have no effect on the POI. If one is worried about tension on the scope they can lap the rings or use ring friction tape. The gun does not kick enough to warrant over 15 pounds of ring tension anyway.

  • @andreasdonner57

    @andreasdonner57

    5 жыл бұрын

    Dear Bob. The Sako mounts are not a Picatinny rail or some other straight mount with parallel sides. Find some pictures on the Sako mounting lugs on the top of a rifle (or visit a gun shop selling Sako rifles) and you will see that the lugs are wider in the forward end than in the backward end. Since the scope mounts have the tensioning screw only on the right side the center of your scope mount will move further to the left the further forward you place it as the mount gets wider.

    I have the VERY similar Browning X-Bolt Pro in 6.5 Creedmoor. Made for Browning in Japan by Miroku. IMO equal in quality to SAKO X-Bolt Pro FEATURES: 1. stainless steel barreled action 2. factory lapped barrel bore 3. fluted barrel, bolt and bolt handle 4. Carbon fiber stock (360 Deg. sock, not laid up strips) 5. burnt bronze Cerakote finish on all metal and on CF stock 6. bolt unlock button ergonomically situated on bolt root. Unlocks WHILE on safe 7. EIGHT scope mounting tapped holes on receiver instead of the usual four for more mounting strength 8. fiberglass reinforced, engineering grade polymer rotary magazine with center feed, not offset like SAKO 9. patented 3 lever, adjustable single stage "Feather Trigger" that is at least the equal to SAKO triggers 10. threaded muzzle with radial muzzle brake and protective cap when brake is not in use. 11. 3 lug bolt for fast bolt cycling 12. 2 position tang safety I regularly get 1/2" groups at 100 yards using 6.5 Creedmoor 143 gr. Hornady ELD-X Precision Hunter ammunition. My current scope is a SWFA 3 - 15 x 42, FFP, mil/mil with side focus knob. (Best scope for the money B/C SWFA has no middlemen and no advertising.Vey good glass.) Future scope will be MARCH 3 - 24 x 42 with same feature s as the SWFA plus lighted reticle and locking turrets AND ED glass. But for the price it had Better have ED glass!

    How do you disassemble the bolt for cleaning? I had two Xbolts I bought at the same time. Shot well but not on par with the Sako. Not by a mile. But you have an agenda. Never understood people who feel the need to use other peoples videos to push their own preferences. My Xbolt in 30-06 had two scope mounting holes strip using a torque driver and recommended torque settings. Sent it back to Browning and they did nothing. Still stripped.

    Many had improperly machined receivers so that you could not zero a scope because you ran out of scope adjustment. The other problem was the stupid ejector that ejected into the scope body denting the case mouth and often falling back into the chamber . kzread.info/dash/bejne/m5yJtNmKgdqtnMY.html

    Geoff funny how so many people just keep repeating this ONE video! The problem there was a long case with a scope totally unsuited to the cartridge. Did you see a problem with this guys set up? No! But that won’t matter to you because you saw this one video on youtube and nothing else will ever matter.

    Sounds like the shooter. Did you try using what Sako used? Have you PROPERLY torqued the action or just used the “that feels about right” method?
