Hi and thanks for the review! It made me buy the dryer. :) However, I noticed it suffers from similar issue as Sunlu S2. It does not vent the humid air outside. I placed a thermometer inside and monitored the humidity on a time scale. Without opening the lid the relative humidity will slowly increase and not get released (obviously, as the box is sealed), so the drying process will probably not be efficient. There are oter videos on KZread showing the issue... To fix this, I made a small air vent spacer (search "Creality Space Pi - Air Vent Gap Spacer " on Printables), which could be attached on the dryer case, so that the humidity is continuously released. This fixes the issue, but obviously would be nice if the dryer does not have this issue in the first place...

First, this video deserves a hell of a lot more likes!!! I've seen some other videos on this unit, because I was trying to decide to buy one or not. I can build one, sure, but I'm pretty much a lazy Fk who has enough projects on the go. LOL In vids that I've seen, there are 2 things that give me great pause. One of them, is because I'm an electronics guy (for decades) and I design "gadgets". I use Nextion touch displays because they are solid. What I'm noticing on all these videos, yours included, is that the display on this box is really bad. Not in how it looks, but in the fact that the touch sensor layer is right on top of the LCD layer itself! So when you touch it, the finger is crushing the liquid crystals, as seen by the area going black the fading back on again. After a while, this does destroy the crystals. What they should have used are screens that have the touch layer on top, below that a solid plastic shield, then below that, the actual LCD element. The Nextion displays do that. This way, when you touch the screen, it doesn't affect the actual LCD element. Many televisions and computer displays also do not have that protection over the LCD portion. Many people have destroyed their TVs and displays when moving them around because they grab it in such a way as the fingers dig into the screen, crushing the crystals. Yikes! So that's the one issue. The second issue, and perhaps you can let me know your opinion, is that there doesn't seem to be any venting to the outside world. In one vid I saw, the guy was showing how, with putting a little tiny cup with a little bit of water in it, inside this box and letting it run over night, didn't remove the water and the humidity stayed the same. But he then propped open the lid a tiny bit and then the humidity could escape. Just having the humidity circulate around and around inside this sealed box, doesn't seem logical. Especially when, like you say, there's no compartment for desiccant. Perhaps in their next version they'll add those 2 things.... desiccant area and venting to the outside world. So in reality, how are you finding this works if you put in a spool of filament that is loaded with humidity? And with that question, I would ask, what is the ambient humidity in the room? I can see this not removing humidity if the ambient humidity is high. Any comment or idea would be very much appreciated. As for design, I too really love this design. Physically, it's a beautiful piece. Thanks in advance.

Great Novel. Can't wait for the Sequel! :P YES. You are correct on the screen. YES. You are correct on the fan. I don't know why all the major Dryer companies continue to get this wrong. I emailed Creality on the Fan topic, and their engineers are taking that into consideration. The reality is, the moisture in a wet roll of filament is a fraction of what even the smallest cup of water would have. Tossing a Desiccant pack in the unit, would deal with the moisture just fine. Their 2 spool unit has a spot for that. Their one spool does not, but, you could just toss it in the hole of the spool.

@@3DRundown Desiccant packs do not absorb moisture when they are hot, so that would accomplish nothing. The purpose of desiccant packs in a filament dryer is to 1. recharge the desiccant and 2. keep the filament dry when the dryer has finished its cycle. These filament dryers are terribly designed by companies that don't understand basic physics. The best solution is to buy a food dehydrator because monkeys figured out how to make those work around 4,000 years ago. Then keep your filament in a un-powered drybox while using it..

Small fans, like what's in this box, are "loud" by comparison to larger fans. It's all about the air flow required. I large fan, with large blades can spin slower to obtain a good airflow. A small fan has to be cranked up to push enough air for the job. If you think this is loud, you'd scream at the heat break duct that I had to design for my crappy Wanhua Duplicator 9 MK2 400 printer. The tiny fan they originally had was quiet, because it wasn't pushing so much air. Not enough to stop heat creep. I had to use a tiny, but powerful mini server fan. I had to put a buck converter on it with a potentiometer, because at 12V full power, the thing sounds like a jet engine. LOL You should hear what a server room sounds like with a bunch of these special fans running. LOL
