Damn... I remember starting out in cubing and BEGGING my parents for a Cube4You DIY. They never got me one, but I remember it being the thing I wanted most. For Christmas that year I ended up getting a bundle of all the Type F cubes (1-3), so I never ended up asking for it again. Nostalgia, dude.

FINALLY! someone besides me who loves to collect older 3x3s! Just ordered a huanying, guhong v2, and a zhanchi all in black even tho I already have a stickerless dayan for my first ever speedcube but it's absolutely TERRIBLE. GREAT VIDEO! :D

Jr, the reason why the gas assisted is so funny is how it was molded. Instead of injected, they used a gas assisted molding system, where it was "blown" into a mold. That's what I heard.

I just want to say for anyone interested, the Panshi is in stock on cubezz (black plastic only).

Jrcuber, we have a lot of east sheen 2x2s here in my place. They sell it on bookshops

You should try to find a Ghost Hand V1! It was my first SpeedCube and I still love the feeling!

I have an older cube with the same mechanisms, as the LanLan. I think people called them torpedos. Lol

I feel like the Dayan Panshi mechanism is basically a 42mm Zhanchi with some stuff added on top of it to make it 57mm.

This is a throwback vid. I remember asking thrawst years ago what cube he recommended and he said Alpha-V all the way.

The cube for you cube came out in 2009, after the type A, B, C, D, F, and Dianshengs.

I think that that gas assisted puzzle is literally full of gas and those rings is where they sealed the gas in the pieces!

Did you put the washers in the right place in that DIY kit? Maybe that's why it couldn't be tensioned properly.

You should probably change the core of the Alpha II, because that's the core for the Alpha V, I feel like the bumps on the core are interfering with the stability of the puzzle.
