Isn't Temu being looked at for its app security and intrusiveness? Super accurate location tracking was one such concern 200m accuracy location tracking is a little overbearing. I personally would stick with its long standing competitors that doesn't want to be intrusive. I get a lot of components that I can't easily find in my country and some surprisingly well established reputable brands having official stores on the competitors marketplace. I'd love to see industry standard robotic tests performed on this store's products to see the lifespan. Electric air dusters when they work are brilliant no cold can droplets to worry about 😅 my hands certainly feel the freeze with a traditional air duster.

The app is suspected of tracking and forwarding data on you, the bigger danger is all these practically anonymous companies in China selling you usb devices and memory devices that are possible collection devices for who knows what nefarious reasons. I'd rather plug a usb device I found on the street than plug a temu device into my tech and network connected devices.

Very grateful for the reviews on Temu (any online tech) products I purchased a white version of the black USB hub. It died within seconds of plugging something in. They refunded me the $4 without making me mail back the item. Probably because I uploaded a video. If I hadn't done that they'd have wanted it back, first. Per my experience. That said, I am having to return 2 Anker 20K mah power banks that don't want to charge me ohone in any reasonable time frame. Like, 5% in 2 hours time..tried multiple USB cords.

  • @jothain

They're all quite loud. Especially comparing to membrane ones. I personally don't get the hate for membranes as there are quite good stuff amongst them. Seems somekind of elitism movement there. Like that what was it IBM model and old as balls, anyway I've used ones around 80's and 90's I haven't missed them at all. I was actually surprised to see people paying a lot for them. Let's face it. If it where something absolutely spectacular, why did they end up mostly in landfills? I have on good keyboard and it's really old is it 380xd model IBM Thinkpad I have somewhere laying. That's the computer I'd use if I'd begin to write book. Not my new Macbook. Not my X250 Lenovo with chicklet keyboard. Not my desktop whatever that fairly nice keyboard is. But that old Thinkpad and to my knowledge that one is memrane keyboard?

I'll be honest. I'd never ever buy anything USB and computer related things from place like temu. Even for their price they're way over proced imo. I mean especially usb2 is so dated tech for like 10 years already. Especially thinking what was the official power rating of it? It's likely way over for usb2 hub if you plug rgb keyboard and mice to it. They're obsolete dated products and components. Even worse is stuff like that 'should be illegal' wrong color coding. Let alone that they could contain malware.
