They're various types of Astrophytum Japanese cultivars which I'm pumped to have in the collection for the purpose of creating seed and hopefully my own cactus hybrids/cultivars in the future.

You should ask the buyer if you can do a tour of their collection. Love cactus lately too.

Yeah, might have to at some point. Though, it's interesting. The cacti community here seems to be much more private than the aroid one in terms of showing their collections.
🎶 What's in the box? What's in the box?🎶 Love an unboxing🎉. ps: My Thai Cons is getting her first leaf, (in my care). I'm excited to see it unfurl. Thank you for raising such brilliant, healthy & strong stock.

I share your astro passion, I have 1500 seedlings on the go with no room to pot them up when they get older lol :)
Where I’m from in west central Georgia USA we call new whiskey moonshine which is illegal 😂

Definitely a whisky fan. Bruichladdich is a firm fave. We've also been to the Glen Scotia distillery in Campbelltown, their stuff is lovely

My kind of woman! Haha Have you had any of the Octomores?
LOL love it. There would definitely be some 'private stock' out there we plant nuts would quite literally trade vital anatomy for. 🤣

Hi Pete! I'm an aroid person mainly but I love watching your cactus videos. I spotted a grafted cactus in the local DIY store where the top piece had fallen off the bottom piece (root stock?! Am i learning?!) Before watching your videos i didn't even know grafting was a thing for cacti :') I figured unless I tried to save it it would end up dying and getting binned, so I haggled for 50% off, watched some videos on grafting cacti and successfully regrafted it! Thought you might enjoy knowing you got an aroid person to do a cactus rescue 😂

Oh wow, that's incredible mate! Well done. Grafting can be hard. I'm still yet to get the hang of it.

I used to pretty much take on whatever as long as it was in a shot glass, lol. I'm partial to tequila, though 🤪 Bring on all the plants... I'm here for them all 🌱🪴🌵

Keep spraying with preventative treatments those Astros. I’ve lost so many due to mealies as you can’t even tell they have them. They’re amazing

2 regular & a dog tail. 😄
My brother and a few of his mates had a little whisky club years ago. They went all in. Suited and booted, had prepared talks about the whisky of the evening and kept a log of the tastings etc. Obviously, it all ended in a sloppy mess, but great fun! 😄 He loves a good smokey whisky. Laghavulin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg, preferably islay, but always scotch. I’m not a huge whisky lover, but I can nip at a really smokey one once in a while, just barely coating the tongue type sipping

Hehe which time stamp?
Don’t think you are allowed to use mummy now a-days. They might identify as daddy’s . Those cacti were pretty damn cool. The texture was just amazing. You didn’t finish the story…you put them in the cart, what was your friend’s answer? Deal or fomo win? I love whiskey and tequila. Not a fan of scotch unfortunately. You might be the only peat I like. 😂 When I went to the Caymans a couple weeks ago, we went to the 7 Fathoms distillery. Very cool concept how they age. Brought back some nice stuff. I’ll shoot you a pic of my bar on the gram later. Congrats on the sales! Keep it grinding! 5k coming around the corner!

I really love astrophytum species, these specimens are very good, I wonder what kind of climate it is in your country and how do you prepare your soil?
On the topic of whiskey and alcoholic beverages, some of my friends own Echuca Distillery and they've just come out with their first whiskey (definitely takes longer than gin, which is also what they started with). Theirs is finished in PX Sherry Casks. They also do a smoked agave that they just won gold for at the San Francisco World Spirits competition for (agave is tequila but under a different name as it doesn't come from mexico) that it sounds like you might like 😊

My partner also has a cracker of a whiskey collection (he used to be a manager at Dan Murphy's)
Like those cacti. I noticed that you have got a few with buds, will you show us them when the flowers open please? I tried whiskey and did not like it, I do like a good vintage port though. Got them aging in my cellar (buy young, age for 10 years and drink)

Will do :D It's the end of Summer now so they're probably stopping as we speak, but I'll keep taking photos hehe
I started exploring whiskey during the pandemic and have come to realize I do not like the peat tasting. I gravitate to the Irish or American whiskey that has a cleaner finish. I totally agree that the sellers are holding out the really good plants on us….lol. Though you have to agree we would do the same.😅

Haha yeah me too. That's when I went deep. I like them all based on different things hehe American stuff's definitely smooth!
Can’t believe peaches sleeps through the packaging material, seems it would be right up a cat’s alley! How do you get seeds from a cactus?
@petevsplants7516
Жыл бұрын
Hey mate, haha yeah she seems to sleep through anything that doesn't involve food. They flower profusely in Spring and Summer, so you can just pollinate them (sometimes self pollinate) and you get loads of seed.
What the difference between a freshly made whiskey and... A vodka?
@petevsplants7516
Жыл бұрын
What it's made from. Whisky's made from fermented grains whereas I think vodka is any agricultural product that's turned into ethanol.
@StalkerNaturaliste

@@petevsplants7516 technically vodka is made of weat or barley. Potato or other sources of suggar are seldom used and is usually called somogon.
I AM THINKING THE SAME WAY IF THEY SELLING YOU THIS WHAT ELSE THEY GOT!
