Aluminium just suffers very much from metal fatigue which means that it gets weaker the more you bend it and it will break if you re bend it too much. Steel on the other hand has the property that it does not suffer from metal fatigue and can thus be re bend theoratically infinitely.

It seems like with this product it was not existent. 1400 Dollar for a product thats just plastic in a metal case. I know this video is a year old but I have this iPad and just came across this video. Well mines the cellular 64 GB. Congratulations. At the end you did exactly what I have done to my iPad that had slightly bent. It’s easy to do if you are slow at doing this and strong.

if the maximum cost would be $50, I would try putting it on the other side with the bump up, then the press on top.

My 12.9 was bent and they replaced it for free 🤷🏼‍♂️

It’s now even softer along the original bend line and the newly formed bend line you just created to straighten it 👍🏼 not a big deal considering it’s only 49 to replace it down the line. Looks like apple Care+ is a must.

There is an elastic response during bending that happens before deformation. You need to unbend a little longer for it to recover some shape. Thats why the books didnt work

@@danielkonigs2769 Apple products have also exploded, the most recent is 9th of January, an iPhone exploded in an apple store and seven people went to hospital. Not only that but the iPad pro has a bend issue, the iPhone 7 had a "loop disease" where the phone would be stuck in a boot loop (hardware failure), the iPhone 6 had a bend issue and the iPhone 4 had an antenna issue. That you are talking about is one phone and this is five different phones from one single brand. I am not saying that iPhones always have issues and all the other devices are perfect, I'm just saying that you are wrong.

I've not watched the outcome yet, but if you were to successfully bend it back, wouldn't doing so cause the materials to weaken even further meaning an ever greater chance of it bending in future?

You have to put the Ipad faced down against a hard surface to get it to bend back and not something like books. Books act as a spring and simply compress if you don't put enough pressure on it. In this case, it probably did very little or nothing to the bend. If you would have placed the Ipad directly on the box with something harder on the top to protect it from the weight, like a plastic cutting board it would have worked much better.

Waited an hour and at the end fixed it with hands 😂

when you put it between the books, i guess you put it in a wrong side, you should face it display up. When you unbend it in you hands, you have it right way, thats why it works and the cinder block dont. You should always input the force from the oposit side of the bend, if you want to fix it.

A technical repair friend of mine told me that you never say bend it back. You instead say you re-formed the item.

I have an iPad mini 1st gen and an iPad mini 3rd gen ... both bent (in the same place) but both still work like new even after years of use in many different environments

If you have a bent iPad pro 3rd gen just ship 🚢 it to Brandon, Because looks like he’s the best at bending them 😂

I am stunned he has no books. I have shelves everywhere I can put them and they are full. He laughs about it like it's SO FUNNY he doesn't have books. I can't decide if it makes me angry or sad. Probably sad.

@@kyleensixtysix Personally I rarely read books. But I understand their value..especially history books. So much misinformation going around, a book is a reflection of reported facts in the past...not subject to modern political/banking agendas. I like thinking I'm safekeeping information for future generations.
